About the Role

Headway East London is looking for a compassionate and motivated Community Support Worker to support adults living with brain injury across our 13 London borough catchment area. You will support members in their own homes and local communities. This is a varied, people-focused role where you will work one to one in the community, helping individuals live with greater independence, confidence and choice.

We have 3 available positions, two permanent contracts and a one fixed term contract for 12 months (maternity cover).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conduct support sessions to a regular caseload of members in the community as a lone worker with remote office assistance.
2. You will work to maximise and maintain their autonomy and independence in their home environment or within the local community.
3. You will work collaboratively with the member to plan, organise and implement daily activities by developing daily and weekly structure and wellbeing plans.
4. You will be responsible for being the first responder, with remote manager support, in the event of any incidents, safeguarding issues or behaviour that challenges during support sessions.
5. Accompany and support members to appointments with health and statutory care providers and provide accurate notes for future reference.
6. Accompany and support members to access social, leisure, educational and vocational activities in the community.
7. Maintain a maximum income for members through completing benefit and grant entitlement and assist with financial budgeting.
8. Provide appropriate and relevant advice, information and advocacy to members and their families. Where appropriate liaise with other professionals and statutory and non-statutory organisations to make referrals or signpost to appropriate support services.
9. Maintain accurate and factual monitoring notes on our online database and report any incidents.
10. Conduct and monitor specific therapy / support / rehabilitation and risk management plans in accordance with case managers, therapists and other cprofessionals as required.

· contribute to identifying, training and supporting service user representatives and peer mentors

· act as the first point of contact for women referred to our service and conduct structured assessments to understand needs

Fundraising and Communications Officer

Role Overview 

As the Fundraising and Communications Officer, you will play a pivotal role in growing Temwa’s income and visibility. You will coordinate, organise or support challenge events, individual fundraising campaigns, manage events, and deliver compelling communications that inspire action. You’ll work closely with the Fundraising & Communications Manager, UK and Malawi teams, and volunteers to support both income generation and brand engagement strategies. 

This is a varied and creative role for a driven communicator who’s confident with events, social media, donor stewardship, and marketing. 

Key Responsibilities 

Fundraising & Events 

• Plan and support individual giving campaigns and donor appeals. 

• Coordinate fundraising events including challenge events, team events, and Temwa’s annual Christmas Party. 

• Organise and coordinate Temwa’s presence at Festivals (about 2 a year)

• Support recruitment and engagement of volunteers for events and festivals. 

• Assist with logistics, ticketing, donor communications and supporter care. 

• Stewardship and support for challenge event fundraisers.

• Support donors and event participants with materials, guidance, and encouragement. 

• Sourcing prizes for events and liaising with suppliers. 

• Coordinating ad hoc events. 

• Contribute to strategy and systems to improve fundraising efficiency. 

Marketing & Communications 

• Manage and implement Temwa’s content calendar, ensuring regular updates across all channels. 

• Create high-quality, engaging content for social media, newsletters, and the website.

• Develop and distribute digital and printed marketing materials for events and appeals. 

• Support Temwa’s PR and media presence by developing press contacts and press releases.

Person Specification 

Essential 

• Proven experience in fundraising, marketing or communications (employment or voluntary). 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Experience creating content across multiple platforms including social media, newsletters, and print. 

• Confident in event planning and leadership. 

• Skilled in donor and client stewardship. 

• Strong digital skills, including use of CMS (e.g., WordPress), social media tools, and CRM databases. 

• Excellent attention to detail, planning, and organisational skills. 

• Confident working independently and collaboratively in a small team. 

• Flexibility and ability to prioritise workload.

Desirable

The role

You will be responsible for the development and delivery of our Community Services; ensuring they
deliver against our strategic ambitions. Working with our Head of Home and Hospital and Head of
Information and Advice you will also ensure effective integration between service areas, and that our
people are consistently led and managed.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• To offer front line education advisory support service to kinship, adoptive and foster families and professionals seeking support and advice about education services for care experienced children.

• To develop, coordinate and support delivery and administration of an education support group (online or in person) to the care experience community youth and family.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with education advisor lead in delivering education support service to families and professionals.

• Manage own caseloads, monitor and review progress at regular education meetings using established tools. Ensure tracking and recording on AUK system database and Sharepoint.

• Develop, promote and deliver Education training for professionals across Scotland. Including supporting the development and delivery of Education elements of training in other AUK teams and development of commissioned projects e.g. care experience week lessons, resources and training for Education Scotland

• Responsible for administrative tasks relating to service delivery

• Respond appropriately to enquiries via email, telephone or in person, referring on to other services and ensure accurate and appropriate recording and tracking of all enquires are maintained using appropriate database systems.

The Engagement Development Executive plays a key operational support role in supporting the charity’s engagement development activity. The role ensures that information, reporting, and resources are accurate, current, and accessible, enabling the organisation to respond effectively to funding opportunities, partnerships, and engagement needs while clearly demonstrating impact for the families we support.

Working closely with and in support of the Programmes Manager, the postholder underpins proposal development, reporting, and stewardship by coordinating high‑quality engagement, project, and impact information across teams.

Reporting, Data & Insights

• Collate engagement, project, and impact reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and readiness for internal and external reporting.

Porposal & Pipeline Management 

• Manage the proposal pipeline tracker, maintaining accurate records and reporting readiness.

Resource & Content Management 

• Maintain the Engagement resource library, ensuring content remains relevant, up to date, and easily accessible.

Stakeholder & Team Support

• Respond to requests from the Engagement team, providing timely support for proposal development and reporting needs.
• Provide coordination and administrative support to the Engagement Development Manager, including organising engagement, project, and impact information to support strategic planning, reporting, and oversight.

We’re an award-winning charity running local learning centres in the heart of the communities where the young people we support live. Our centres provide a high-impact education programme which includes practical learning support, pastoral care, and motivational and confidence-building activities for young people aged 7-18. As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping 56,000 young people each year at its 44 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate who will enjoy working each day with young people and who will thrive in a frontline, community-based, fast-paced and rewarding role. You will be taking up a permanent role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in Bridlington. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting  IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery.

A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

The role of Community Fundraising Officer is all about helping to turn that vision into reality by inspiring people to actively support nature through fundraising, events, partnerships and & encouraging community-led initiatives. It is a role that combines relationship-building, creativity & practical organisation, while giving the successful person the chance to make a direct contribution to helping bring nature back to Suffolk.

The position focuses strongly on developing community fundraising opportunities & building lasting supporter relationships. The post holder will work with the Philanthropy & Fundraising Manager to deliver fundraising plans, meet income targets & create new opportunities for people across Suffolk to get involved. Role Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Support in group coaching sessions of up to 12 young people. Coaching them around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education and equipping them with the skills to stay there.
• You’ll be given all the training needed to deliver Spear through our professional coaching methodology.
• This coaching continues for Spear Career – the 6 months’ worth of follow-up support. You will oversee a caseload of trainees and support them in work, beyond the initial Foundation Phase of the programme.
• Lead weekly 1:1s with a cohort of young people to monitor their progress and support them in their journey to employment.
• As part of this you will help trainees evaluate their progress and determine their work readiness throughout the programme – coaching them through challenges, creating moments of breakthrough and setting goals.

Relationship Management 

• You’ll build relationships with relevant professionals at local organisations, and communicate directly with young people, to encourage referrals to the Spear programme.
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre.
