The Events Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of Hidayah’s events and activities. Working closely with the Events Officer and wider team, this role ensures that all events run smoothly, are well-promoted, inclusive, and aligned with Hidayah’s mission. The ideal candidate is organised, proactive, and passionate about creating meaningful community experiences.
What are the key responsibilities of this role?
This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:
1. Event Planning & Delivery
· Support the Events Officer in planning, organising, and delivering a range of events, both online and in person
· Liaise with venues and caterers to confirm logistics, costs, and facilities, ensuring value for money and guest satisfaction
· Manage event listings and guest registrations through OutSavvy, ensuring all attendees have active Hidayah memberships
· Assist with event setup, registration, and on-the-day coordination, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment
· Support with risk assessments, accessibility considerations, and general event compliance
2. Marketing & Communications
· Collaborate with the Social Media team to schedule and promote events across Hidayah’s social channels
· Create or support the design of promotional materials and graphics using Canva
· Draft event descriptions, newsletter content, and updates for review by the Events Officer
· Coordinate the monthly newsletter, liaising with the Social Media team to finalise and distribute
· Engage partner charities, community groups, and networks to share event information via email and social media
3. Stakeholder & Community Engagement
· Build and maintain relationships with organisations, partners, and individuals aligned with Hidayah’s mission
· Send thank-you messages to venues, partners, and attendees following events
· Distribute and collect feedback forms, compiling responses to support continuous improvement
· Represent Hidayah at community events and networking opportunities where appropriate
4. Administrative Support
· Maintain and update the contact database and event records
· Manage the Events Team inbox, responding to or triaging queries promptly
· Attend regular Events Team meetings, contributing updates and ideas
· Track and report on event expenses and participation data as required

Charity Champion (volunteer)
As a Volunteer Charity Champion, you will have the opportunity to support the North West Ambulance Charity team achieve their mission in a variety of different ways to suit you. The North West Ambulance Charity provides support to the North West Ambulance Service above and beyond what NHS funding can provide. The role:
The Events team at Bi Pride UK is one of the core operational teams within the charity. The team handles programming, production and execution of our events, including our annual flagship Bi Pride event, which holds the record for the largest Bi Pride event in the world. This role will sit at the head of our Events team, supervising managers across the team and taking responsibility for the operational direction of our events. Bi Pride UK’s flagship Bi Pride event is a highlight of the year, and it’s the product of our amazing volunteers’ efforts throughout the year.
The Head of Events is a crucial element of delivering our flagship event, so this is an exciting opportunity to take on a new challenge of building and supporting a team which delivers a vital part of our charity’s strategic work. The Head of Events will supervise four events managers who each oversee a different area of the event, and will lead the whole Events team in their team meetings and decisions regarding the production of our events. They will also work closely with key teams across the charity, including Media & Comms, Inclusion & Access, and Education & Outreach, to place our bi+ communities at the heart of our events and reach the widest audience possible. Our events place great focus on accessibility and inclusion, so the Head of Events will work consciously with the venue, accessibility consultants and technical live-streaming specialists to ensure our hybrid events meet the needs of our audience. They will have freedom to explore new ways to expand and improve our flagship event, and other events that Bi Pride UK could run through the year.
Key tasks of this role include:

Reporting to the Events Trustee, as well as working closely with volunteers across the team and charity, to deliver events that meet the charity’s vision;

Setting achievable strategic targets and workflows for the team as part of our three year strategy, and supporting volunteers to meet these targets;

Overseeing the team’s finances, including setting budgets, tracking sub-team spending, and supporting the Fundraising team with information for grant applications;

Supervising a team of year-round volunteers (dedicated to the planning of Bi Pride UK events) and supporting “on-the-day” event volunteers who contribute to the smooth delivery of our events;

Working with the Access & Inclusion team and the Accessibility Consultant to implement their recommendations and ensure the event meets high standards of accessibility;

Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers for various elements of our events;

Fostering robust collaboration with key teams and volunteers throughout the organisation to ensure the success and smooth running of our events;

Working with the Volunteer Management team to recruit appropriate numbers of volunteers for the year-round Events team and volunteers to support event delivery;

Contributing to due diligence reports and taking oversight of contributor contract completion for all areas of the event;

Overseeing and supporting all key areas of event delivery, from stages and stalls areas, to volunteers and accessibility.
Our team volunteers remotely from anywhere in the UK, with some travel required occasionally (primarily for our flagship Pride event in London in August). All reasonable expenses incurred are reimbursed, including travel, lunch at away days and other all day events, and some childcare costs if required. The successful candidate will lead monthly Events team meetings on Wednesday evenings via conference call (which will become fortnightly on the approach to an event), in addition to further programming, 1:1 volunteer check-ins, contributors, suppliers and venue meetings as required. Our Trustees and Heads meetings take place via conference call on the third Monday evening of every month.

Our programme provides young people with the chance to try new things and challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their expectations and grow in confidence. They have the chance to take part in a range of activities, work in a team, experience group living and challenge themselves in a new environment. The programme is built around three residential adventure camps.
As a Programme Volunteer at one of our camps you will work with groups of up to 10 young people alongside other experienced volunteers, trained members of staff and activity instructors. The Travel Buddy Volunteer will support a Voices Council member who is a person with a learning disability (and possibly other disabilities) to attend a Voices Council meeting 4 times a year to travel from Wales to London and one regional meeting a year that is not in London.
As a Travel Buddy Volunteer, you’ll support one person to attend:
• Four national Voices Council meetings a year in London
• One regional meeting a year in a different UK location
Even if you can only commit to one meeting a year, we would absolutely love to hear from you. Every bit of support makes a huge difference.
This role involves travelling with her on public transport the day before the meeting, staying overnight in a hotel, and supporting the person to get to Mencap’s London office on the day of the meeting. But it’s so much more than a journey of A to B, you’ll be:
- Enabling the Voices Council member to show up, share their voice, and shape decisions at Mencap
- Helping the Voices Council member to feel confident, calm and safe during the journey
- Encouraging the Voices Council member to build skills to travel more confidently over time
This is an ad-hoc opportunity with plenty of advance notice, giving you the flexibility to volunteer when you are able. All travel and hotel expenses for both you and the journey and the person you are supporting will be covered.

Your role as an RPR Support Volunteer is to collaborate with the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care.

Hospital Visitor Volunteer
Hospital Visitor volunteers visit hospital settings to ensure that people detained under the Mental Health Act are aware that they have a legal right to an IMHA qualified advocate. This role entails weekly visits to either Townsend Court and Poplar Wards (Luton) on Fridays 1-4 or Fountains Court (Bedford) on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.
As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you!
What can I expect to be doing?
As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets.

Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full.

Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.

Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team!

We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. Children’s and Young People’s Activities Volunteer
Help young carers enjoy safe, fun, worry-free breaks from their caring role.
You support children and young people aged 5 to 25 during trips, club sessions, workshops, and holiday activities. You help them meet others, grow in confidence, and enjoy time for themselves. The role involves travel across Solihull so you can attend events and activities when needed.

People in care homes should have a voice to communicate their needs wishes and wants. Some people need support with this, but don’t have friends and family available to assist them. This means they’re entitled to have support from an RPR and volunteer, who are there to make sure they get the care they deserve. Your role as an RPR Support Volunteer is to collaborate with the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care.
- As an RPR Support Volunteer you might:
- Visit people in their care home, to make sure they’re getting the right care and support
- Talk with them about their feelings, thoughts and wishes
- Raise concerns
- Keep detailed notes and records
- Make a real difference to someone’s life

Hospital Visitor volunteers visit hospital settings to ensure that people detained under the Mental Health Act are aware that they have a legal right to an IMHA qualified advocate.The volunteers are instrumental in ensuring that clients get access to an advocate and can also support the work that advocates undertake.

You’ll be supporting people over the age of 18 with disabilities, this may include those with poor mental health, learning difficulties, autism and other disabilities.
