Spear Wolverhampton is a partnership between Spear and Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Tabernacle Baptist Church is a large and lively multicultural and multi-generational church located in the heart of the diverse and multi-religious Whitmore Reans area of Wolverhampton. Their mission statement is ‘Love God, Love People, Share Jesus, Make Disciples’ and their current text is “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful”. They want to see people’s lives transformed by Jesus. They run monthly evangelism in the community, meet in 8 house groups during the week and run discipleship and other training programmes.

The successful candidate would be employed by Tabernacle Baptist Church with Spear Wolverhampton as a key missional activity. Prayer and worship are embedded into daily working practices, so there is an Occupational 
Requirement for applicants to be practicing Christians and to subscribe to their statement of beliefs. Spear will provide an informal conversation to discuss Tabernacle Baptist Church’s statement of beliefs early in the application process.

Salary: £30,000 FTE

Role Responsibilities

Oversight of Spear Programme

Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee 
per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to 
work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.

• Lead group sessions of around 12 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Spear, as well as their ongoing progress and 
  sustainment of work or education.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by Spear to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Tabernacle Baptist Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church team and immersed in an exciting faith community.
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.

Site Management and set-up

• Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening.
• Liaise with relevant staff locally for on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.
• Other relevant ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

Supporter Engagement Executive

JOB PURPOSE
The Supporter Engagement Executive will act as a central point of contact for all RLSS UK supporters across every fundraising income stream, ensuring they receive a warm, knowledgeable and professional experience whether they’re looking to find out more about RLSS UK, taking part in an activity, or choosing to donate.

You will play a key role in championing our supporters, helping us understand their needs and continuously improve their experience. By gathering feedback, spotting themes and sharing insights with the wider team, you’ll highlight opportunities and challenges that help shape how we engage with supporters in the future.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver excellent supporter care, including responding to email, post and telephone enquiries, issuing receipts, and carrying out donor follow‑up.
• Provide warm and consistent stewardship to donors, including personalised contact such as telephone calls, letters, handwritten cards and emails.
• Be the first point of contact for community groups, schools and clubs, offering guidance, support and fundraising materials.
• Support recruitment and stewardship of challenge event participants, ensuring they feel informed, motivated and appreciated.
• Support community fundraisers throughout their activity, providing resources, stewardship and encouragement. 
• Record and track community fundraising activity within the CRM.
• Support the development and delivery of supporter journeys, helping ensure communications and touchpoints are timely and engaging.
• Manage stock of supporter materials, including running vests, swim caps, donation buckets and collection tins, ensuring timely fulfilment of requests.
• Assist with the implementation of the new CRM system, including accurate data entry and supporting the wider team during the transition.
• Maintain CRM data to a high standard, including running reports, tagging, updating preferences and ensuring excellent data governance.
• Accurately record donations and supporter correspondence within the CRM system.
•  Provide administrative support to the Income Generation team, assisting with general tasks and contributing to the smooth running of fundraising activity.

• Experience of building positive relationships with customers, supporters or donors.

About the Role

We are seeking a Family Service Manager to lead our flagship family service based in HMP Altcourse. This is an ideal opportunity if you are seeking a hands-on role within a prison setting, who is confident in working in complex environments and wants to create meaningful change within punitive systems. You will lead a multidisciplinary team who deliver high-quality, therapeutically informed, arts-based work with men in prison and their families. You will bring together creative group interventions, bespoke family counselling services, and day-to-day practical family support within a complex prison environment. 

As the Family Service Manager, you will lead a team of Programme Co-Ordinator's, Facilitators, Family Counsellors, a Deputy Service Manager, and other appropriate staff. The team deliver programmes such as Fathers Inside and Man Up which have received national recognition and have been delivered nationally across custodial and community settings. The role requires leadership experience, managing a diverse team, with line management responsibilities to support, enable, and empower your team to deliver high quality support to the participants of our programmes and their families. You will work closely with prison and Sodexo colleagues, as well as other internal SIG teams to ensure innovative, safe, and compassionate service delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Line Management throughout the employee lifecycle embedding a culture of learning, development, reflection, and evaluation.
• Creative leadership of creating and delivering engaging high-quality services and interventions which support rehabilitation, reintegration, and culture shifts in systems of power and compliance.

• Demonstratable experience in leading a service/team in a similar capacity.

• Ability to motivate and empower a team to achieve KPI's
• Ability to promote the service externally to enhance reputation in the area and with partner organisations

Working closely with the Helpline Nurse Lead, you’ll support service improvement work, contributing to data reporting, technology development, information governance and quality audits. Your work will help us maintain a service that people trust during difficult moments.

You’ll bring strong experience of running helpline or contact‑centre operations, ideally in a health, charity or support‑focused setting. You’ll also be confident with virtual call systems, organised, calm under pressure and comfortable using data to plan and problem‑solve.

The strategic growth manager is responsible for creating and carrying out business development work across the charity, with a primary focus on grants and public sector tender opportunities, as well as managing a team with their own growth targets in distinct areas. Cosmic is a small but mighty children’s charity, dedicated to supporting the incredible work of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, Hammersmith. Key Responsibilities

External Communications

• Collaborate with the team to develop a communications plan to support Cosmic’s calendar of events, income generation and volunteering, taking ownership of its implementation.
• Manage supporter communications through platforms like Mailchimp, including scheduling updates and mail merges.
• Produce and manage the production and distribution of the charity’s supporter newsletter, corporate newsletter, and other direct marketing materials.
• Develop a GDPR compliant method to gather data from families who benefit from Cosmic Service Delivery, to support conversion to fundraising via a Cosmic communication plan and supporter journey
• Create and execute engaging campaigns for Cosmic, based on our service delivery, to generate income.
• Liaise with celebrity partners to coordinate media campaigns.
• Develop and maintain a bank of photographs and ensure media consent forms are obtained and recorded appropriately.
• Assist fundraising teams in sourcing free advertising opportunities for events, such as community group emails and online platforms.
• Working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and maximise media opportunities and campaigns that help raise awareness of the Cosmic’s services
• Writing press releases for local, regional and national press covering Cosmic service delivery, events and fundraising campaigns.
• Plan and execute events designed for stewardship and engagement alongside the Cosmic Events Team.
• Support in the development and delivery of the Cosmic ambassador strategy

Internal Communications

• Work closely with supporters, NHS staff, and the NHS Imperial Trust to gather compelling patient, family, unit, and staff stories for promotional purposes.
• Be a visible presence on the wards, building relationships to develop case studies, improve communication, and identify opportunities for collaboration.
• Keep charity notice boards updated with promotional material.
• Contribute to the quarterly Trustee report.
• Ensure that all communication is clearly logged on the Cosmic CRM solution, Donorfy.

Digital

• Manage Cosmic’s social media channels, developing and implementing a consistent and engaging social media plan to promote the charity’s work, events, and fundraising initiatives effectively.
• Digital transformation of the Cosmic website and other digital channels with a consistent and clear brand, ensuring optimal user experience.
• Create engaging and consistent digital designs for all marketing materials on Canva.

Branding and Merchandising

• Design and create a new range of fundraising merchandise and marketing materials to promote the Cosmic brand.
• Support the fundraising team by developing high-quality materials for proposals, events, and activities, and assist in promoting these initiatives.
• Develop and formalise a clear Cosmic Tone of Voice and charity branding, establishing guidelines for how Cosmic presents itself both internally and externally to ensure consistency and alignment with its mission and values.
• Build a Cosmic library of “curated content” with aligned descriptions of who we are and what we do, tailored for different audiences.
• Ensure all internal templates (letterheads, email signatures etc) use the correct colour palette, format and logo.

Administration

• Build a process to balance and prioritise the requirements and request for digital, marketing and communication support from the Cosmic Team
• Respond effectively to incoming telephone calls and emails, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally.
• Maintain and update the charity’s database of contacts and supporters, taking the lead in implementing changes to improve data recording and analysis.
• Provide support to charity volunteers during activities.
• Develop engaging and relevant supporter journeys using Cosmic audience personas.
• Regular development and gathering of Cosmic case study materials.
• Evaluate the success of campaigns, setting and tracking key metrics, feeding learnings back into future work in a cycle of continuous improvement.
• Prepare and deliver regular, meaningful reporting on communications, to assist and drive strategic communications and marketing decision making.

General

• Build relationships across Cosmic, NHS units, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration.
• Stay informed about fundraising sector trends and identify ways to apply them to Cosmic’s work.
• Undertake any other tasks commensurate with the role, adhering to the charity’s time-in-lieu policy.
• Support PICU/NICU with day-to-day needs, including celebrating milestones, organising activities, or assisting families with specific requirements.

Who We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a marketing or communications role, ideally working within the charity sector.
