The Democratic Progress Institute is currently seeking to recruit a Funding and Development Intern for 3-5 days per week for a minimum of 3 months.

The intern will work with the Fundraising & Development Officer as well as the Senior Development Officer and tasks may include but are not limited to: research (development and grant-related, political, policy, organisational), report drafting, database management, editing and proof reading.

Excellent written English skills and the ability to carry out administrative duties are requirements for this role. Moreover, the successful candidate will have an interest in fundraising as well as monitoring and evaluation and possibly already show some familiarity with the principles of fundraising within the NGO/charity sector. Candidates with an academic background in peace and conflict studies in the MENA region and/or human rights are especially encouraged to apply.

Also experience in canva or any such related software is highly desirable.

We seek to appoint a Chair of the Trust Board who can provide strategic leadership to the Girls’ Learning Trust during a period of development and change.

The Chair will lead us collectively to set the tone, expectations and culture of the Board. You will lead the governance of the Trust, working closely with the Chief Executive and fellow Trustees to oversee our strategic direction, performance, safeguarding and compliance. We are looking for Volunteer Befrienders to support our Brent Mental Health service in the London Borough of Brent. 

As a Volunteer Befriender, you will be required to travel across Brent to meet with service users and carry out your role. Ideally, you will be able to commit a minimum of 2 hours per week to volunteering.

About the service

Our Brent Mental Health service provides support to people aged 18 and above who live in the Borough of Brent, and who have a mental illness and are known to the local NHS trust, Central and North West London (CNWL).

The aim of the Befriending Service is to;

• Reduce social isolation of service users

• Provide meaningful activities and peer support for service users 
• Help service users to live happier, healthier, independent lives

· Making design improvements and creating new website layouts and templates using design software

· Integrating graphics, audio, and video into the website

· Creating website elements (e.g., icons, banners, pages, audio enhancements, etc.)

· Ensuring the website is optimised for mobile devices

· Testing the website in various browsers and modifying design as necessary

· Performing website updates as required by the client or management

· Maintaining and enhancing the website once built

· Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles
