What you’ll do:
✅ Running a large, high density shop efficiently and profitably, maximising sales, Gift Aid, and round-up donations
✅ Managing visual merchandising, stock rotation, and product display to the highest standards
✅ Overseeing the effective sorting, pricing, and presentation of donated goods
✅ Leading and inspiring a team including an Assistant Manager (3 days/week), a Sales Assistant, and a team of volunteers
✅ Organising staff and volunteer rotas to ensure adequate cover, including on weekends
✅ Providing excellent customer service and handling queries or complaints professionally
✅ Monitoring financial performance, managing shop expenses, and ensuring compliance with audit and cash handling processes
✅ Ensuring full compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, GDPR, and equality policies
✅ Acting as an ambassador for the charity in the local community and supporting fundraising events
What you’ll need:

The post-holder will also work closely with colleagues in conservation and regional teams to make sure that impacts on both areas are fully considered, whilst in tandem seeking to maximise opportunities to expand and increase commercial activity, income and ultimately profitability.

The Initiatives and Partnerships Manager plays a key role in the Trust’s Initiatives and Partnerships Team. The post holder will support the development and implementation of the Trust’s projects, manage team members and on occasion support external and partnership projects. Our work is varied, ranging from early-stage feasibility planning, partnership development, fundraising, business planning and design development, as well as supporting our conservation team who lead construction phase oversight.
This role builds on the successes of the Trust’s longstanding Regeneration programme, which has undertaken pioneering Regeneration projects addressing some of our most pressing conservation needs, as well as developing new operating models for some of the churches in our care. The job will support our regional teams in developing and implementing projects to deliver a range of conservation, social and regeneration benefits; with the balance of each responding to local need, demand and opportunity.

About the Role
In this role you will form a vital part of our High Value Partnerships team; achieving or exceeding agreed income targets through tailored and compelling fundraising proposals to existing and new funders; and matching donor interests with Help for Heroes’ programmes.
You will deliver excellent stewardship managing a portfolio of high value donors, delivering against donor objectives, and seeking opportunities to develop and broaden support. Whilst also contributing to the wider Trusts and Foundations, and Partnerships strategies, including taking on management of special projects as and when required.
About the Team
The Trusts and Foundations Team is made up of the Trusts and Foundations Senior Partnership Manager, the Trusts and Grants Manager, and the Trusts and Foundations Executive, part of the wider High Value Partnerships Team, Commercial Directorate.

About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our growing and dynamic team. With a new CEO having joined the team in June we are on exciting journey of growth and development with a passion and commitment to fund specialist end of life care across West Northamptonshire.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the finance team and finance volunteers.
- Lead on month-end closing processes and producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
- Lead on year-end closing processes and oversee the audit process liaising with the auditors as required.
- Oversee payroll, cash management and the investment portfolio.
- Prepare VAT returns. Act as the key contact for VAT and ensure robust systems are in place to comply with HMRC requirements.

In this role you will use your professional knowledge and experience to undertake significant problem solving and lateral thinking, providing advice to key stakeholders across the charity on complex estate and asset management issues. By ensuring best professional practice is always observed and complying with the RICS Code of Conduct, the successful post-holder will be responsible for negotiating rent reviews and lease renewals across Age UK's predominantly retail property portfolio and day to day estate management duties.
Whilst you will be home based, please note this role requires travel across our Age UK estate, so there is an expectation you can travel with some overnight stays; a company car will be provided.
