Area Manager – Scotland
We are recruiting an Area Manager for Scotland to create and cultivate sustainable community services across your area to contribute to PAPYRUS creating suicide-safer communities for young people across the whole of the UK.
What you will do:
· You will lead the EQUIP strategy in your Area.
· You will ensure that PAPYRUS is represented at appropriate local and regional Suicide Prevention groups and bodies across your Area.
· Manage Service Delivery in your Area.
· Develop an operational plan to deliver the strategy.
· Drive the effective performance of the Area through strong leadership which sets high expectations of all staff.
To be successful in this role you will have:
· Proven experience of building, managing and enabling a successful team
· Experience of identifying new approaches to underpin strategy, progressing new opportunities and translating these into sustainable, funded projects in the community.
· Previous experience of preparing a budget, securing funding for projects/ programmes and having financial accountability for successful implementation.
· Experience of managing complex projects with a positive impact on social change.
· Proven track record of successfully building, developing and managing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the community, voluntary, statutory and political settings.
· Proven experience of effective working as part of a management group.
· A bachelor’s degree level or equivalent professional qualification in Leadership, Management, Health, Social Care, Social Sciences, Education, Business Development, Community Work, or Public Health.
Salary: £45,441 per annum (scale point 37) progressing incrementally to £49,498 per annum (scale point 41)
Hours: 36 hours per week Location: Glasgow or Aberdeen office with regular travel across the Area
Contract: Permanent

Bgen Coordinator

Bgen, the Botanic Gardens Education Network, is a specialist support network for professional plant and natural world educators across the UK. The Bgen Coordinator is vital for our charity, supporting training and conference events, handling membership renewals, facilitating communications with our 300 members and supporting the Chair and Board of Trustees. Main duties and responsibilities
1. Bgen Board and legal services:
a. Organise 4 Board meetings a year, prepare and circulate agendas and documents, take notes and share minutes.
b. Produce a quarterly activity report to the Bgen Board.
c. Organise the Annual General Meeting.
d. Maintain up to date records of Trustees, and ensure they have access to Governing Documents, including notification of legal obligations.
e. Submit annual returns to the Charity Commission on time and help ensure compliance.
2. Member services:
a. Act as the first point of contact for current and potential members.
b. Support the Board with planning and promotion of training events (online or in-person), booking speakers and managing bookings.
c. Advise on and help implement an effective communications programme.
d. Update the Bgen website and promote on social media as required.
e. Keep membership records up to date and manage renewals annually.
f. Organise and distribute online mail-outs and newsletters.
g. Organise the jobs and volunteer opportunities service for members.
3. Conference planning
a. Coordinate annual conference (online or in-person) with support from the Training and Conference workstream.
b. Book speakers and workshop facilitators.
c. Help promote the conference with members, partners and wider sector via newsletter and social media channels.
d. Manage bookings, participants list and send out conference pack.
e. Organise catering with venue and relevant workstream.
f. Coordinate conference logistics and event management.
4. Finance
a. Work closely with the Treasurer, Treasury group and bookkeeper in preparing financial reports.
b. Administer general accounts – invoices, receipts etc.
c. Manage conference budget.

Summary of the Role
We are commissioned to carry out Quality Checks of support services where people with a disability or mental ill health live, including Supported Living settings, Residential Homes, Day Services, Assessment and Treatment units and individual homes. The purpose of the Quality Checks is to ensure that people who live in these settings are safe, and living healthy, happy and meaningful lives and that the support they receive is appropriate to their needs.
All our Quality Checks involve a Quality Checker (an Expert by Experience) with lived experience of disability or mental ill health working alongside a Quality Checking Coordinator. On visits, we talk with people living in these settings to gather information regarding their quality of life and the quality of care and support they have.
The Coordinator’s role is to organise the checks and facilitate them on the day, whilst the Expert by Experience asks most of the questions. The Coordinator is responsible for compiling all the information gathered during the Quality Check and producing a report which is shared with the Provider and Commissioners. The Coordinator also has line management responsibility for a small number of the quality checkers on the team.

Pension: IG operates the NEST pension scheme and will contribute 3% subject to qualifying status
Salary: FTE (£29,444.46) pro rata, or £15.10 per hour.
Location: Railway House, Bruton Way, Gloucester, GL1 1DG and offsite at locations across and occasionally outside of Gloucestershire. There is the opportunity to work flexibly from home when not engaged in onsite visits.
Holiday: 28 days + bank holidays pro rata
