You may have thought that leprosy is an ancient Biblical disease, but today someone is diagnosed with leprosy every two minutes. It is a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Stigma and discrimination mean many people with leprosy hide their symptoms for as long as possible, living in terrible fear of what will happen to them. But without fast treatment, leprosy can cause blindness and disable hands and feet. Rejection, isolation, hopelessness. We believe that this is not how God wants people to live. The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with over 150 years’ experience serving people affected by this disease. We are a leading international development charity, working in nine countries across Africa and Asia. We are Christ-centered, following His leading to defeat leprosy and transform lives.
We are looking for an inspirational communicator to be the face of The Leprosy Mission. You’ll be working from home, based in either our North West region or North East region (your preference which), with extensive travel across your region. As part of a fun and supportive team, you’ll be changing the lives of people who have been rejected by society. We have a culture of growing and learning together, providing extensive training in fundraising and international development. You’ll also have opportunities to visit projects overseas and see our work first hand.
We’re looking for:
- A relational public speaker, experienced in engaging audiences including churches and community groups
- Proven success in fundraising or sales
- A confident networker
- Experience of managing volunteers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A willingness to work on Sundays and evenings as required, and occasional Saturdays
- The ability to develop and deliver a regional fundraising strategy.

A valid UK driving license is an essential requirement for the role. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a work health questionnaire.

The digital team is growing and embarking on exciting new projects to transform and expand our social media presence and looking nurture our existing supporters, engage new audiences, and tell stories that connect people across the world with life-changing work in Africa and Asia. We are looking for a creative and technically confident social media manager & digital advertising professional. You’ll play a central role in delivering powerful fundraising campaigns, building our online presence, growing our social media followers, and engaging supporters with stories of transformation.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing overarching social media strategy with our Digital Fundraising & Marketing Manager
- Developing and executing social media campaigns that complement our Fundraising Appeals
- Leading the creation, delivery, and optimisation of TLMGB’s organic social media content
- Managing all aspects of paid digital advertising
- Scheduling and supporting creation of social media posts (Sprout Social)
- Reporting on social media campaign performance and implementing improvements
- Collaborating with colleagues to create seamless digital journeys
Who we’re looking for:
You will have a curious and proactive mindset, confident digital skills and a heart for mission. You’ll be highly organised with an eye for detail and ready to take ownership of our social media content and paid advertising to help tell powerful stories and grow supporter engagement.
You’ll have a minimum of 12–18 months’ experience in a social media copywriting, paid ads or social media manager role, comfortable with tools including Sprout Social, Adobe, Canva, and ClickUp. Experience with Meta and Google Ads, Google Grants, Google analytics and a willingness to learn and innovate are also key.
We are an explicitly Christian charity, and this role will represent the Mission’s purpose and ethos to external audiences. As the successful candidate will be required to understand the way the Christian faith and the Bible intersect with and inform The Leprosy Mission’s work, including understanding appropriate use of scripture and the UK church fundraising context, there is an occupational requirement for the Social Media & Digital Ads Executive to be a committed Christian.

You will bring your energy and skill to creating compelling content when writing news stories and social media, unleash your creativity in designing digital media and website content, and show your organizational skills in supporting events. You must be bilingual Spanish and English speaker to apply for this role.
This is an important role in a small communications team where you will help raise our international organisation’ s global profile across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
This fully remote contracting role is perfect for someone with some communications experience and a keen interest in supporting countries across the world to build better public infrastructure through open governance principles (accountability, transparency, participation, multi stakeholder working).
As the only Spanish speaking member of the communications team, you will lead on social media and news stories across Latin America and therefore fluent Spanish and English (both written and spoken) are essential, in addition knowledge of the Latin America region would be useful.
This is a fully remote consultancy role. You will not be paid on an hourly/daily basis but instead paid a fixed amount (as set out above) each month for completing agreed deliverables with your line manager. As a rough guide, we expect this will take around 18-20 hours a week. We are open to you working the hours in a way that works for your life-work balance and delivers our business needs, subject to being available for key meetings/deliverables during the week and in agreement with your line manager. Whilst this role is initially for 6 months, there is potential for this to extend or develop into a longer-term role.
Key responsibilities:
Drafting content (60%):
- researching and drafting news articles in English;
- creating ideas for, and drafting of, social media in both English and Spanish;
- creating digital media in both English and Spanish for social media accounts and website,
- using Canva and other software;
- drafting newsletters in both English and Spanish.
Regular communications admin tasks (40%):
- uploading and updating website content;
- supporting to organise and promote events, including preparing content and communications for internal and external events in both English and Spanish;
- supporting the website project manager with ad-hoc tasks in the development of a new website;
- supporting with tracking website and social media analytics and using them to inform future content generation;
- other communications-related activities as required to deliver the CoST Advocacy & Communications strategy.
Essential experience and attributes:
- Both Spanish and English fluency in speaking and writing (this will be tested at interview)
- Experience with delivering written and visual communications in a variety of mediums.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience with social, digital and communication platforms e.g Canva, scheduling platforms, mailchimp, wordpress, google analytics.
- An interest in international development, infrastructure, open governance, anti-corruption, and the not-for-profit sector.
- Creative and enthusiastic about a career in communications.
- Ability to prioritise, plan and organise work and work independently.

Research and Impact Data
This is a key role in the Freedom Fund’s Research & Evaluation team, playing a key role in measuring the real-world impact of anti-slavery initiatives across the globe. You’ll also contribute to research and evaluation projects that deepen understanding and improve the ways we work to prevent and address modern slavery.
In this role, you’ll manage the digital backbone of our data systems, ensuring that impact is measured consistently and meaningfully. You’ll provide colleagues and partners with the tools and training they need to monitor progress and address challenges. Through engaging dashboards and innovative visualisations, you’ll turn complex data into accessible insights for a wide range of audiences: from grassroots partners to the Freedom Fund’s senior leadership.
You’ll report to the Head of Research & Evaluation and work alongside Research & Evaluation team members based globally. The role will involve one to two international trips per year. You will lead a data compliance review and work with colleagues to ensure the robustness and suitability of the charity’s information governance framework, policies & procedures, deliver training to empower colleagues in data protection matters, handle any subject access requests, manage any data incidents, breaches or complaints, perform a key role in organisational change and the implementation of new technology solutions, provide hands-on advice and help to embed privacy by design.
