Job description

My Home Life’ is an international initiative promoting quality of life in care homes through the delivery of research, local development work and social action activity. It is based at City, University of London. We are now ready to build on our significant success to date by growing our team to make even more of a difference to the lives of residents, staff and families in care homes.

Responsibilities

The Communications Officer, will help to deliver MHL’s mission through sharing best practice to a range of external audiences to inspire improvements in practice and encourage key audiences to connect positively with the movement. The post holder will have a passion for storytelling, producing engaging content for the initiative’s key audiences across multiple channels, including (but not limited to) website’s (wordpress), social media (twitter, instagram and facebook), large mailing systems (Dotmailer), video logging (Vimeo/ youtube), blogging, reports, presentations (Powerpoint) and the creation of promotional materials.

We are now ready to build on our significant success to date by growing our team to make even more of a difference to the lives of residents, staff and families in care home 

Person Specification

This is a dynamic and creative role for an individual who wants to make a difference and who works well under pressure. The successful candidate must have experience either working in a communications role, or as a journalist within the health and social care sector. Experience of engaging creating content for a variety of channels and working to tight deadlines is essential.
