We currently have 10 board members with a variety of backgrounds and experience including finance, investments, fundraising, PR and communications, management consultancy, events, and legal. Our trustees work closely with the Chief Executive, leadership team and senior members of the team.

**Role Overview:**
The Chairperson will lead the Executive Committee, ensuring the effective governance and strategic direction of the 25th St. Marks Scout Group. This role is crucial in supporting the Group Scout Leader and ensuring the group meets its objectives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Leadership:** Provide leadership to the Executive Committee, ensuring all members are motivated and working towards the group's goals.
- **Governance:** Ensure the group operates within its constitution and complies with relevant legislation and policies.
- **Strategic Planning:** Develop and oversee the implementation of the group's strategic plan.
- **Meetings:** Chair Executive Committee meetings, ensuring they are productive and decisions are made in the best interest of the group.
- **Support:** Work closely with the Group Scout Leader to support the delivery of a high-quality program for young people.
- **Representation:** Represent the group at district and county meetings, and act as an ambassador for the group within the community.
- **Fundraising:** Oversee fundraising activities and ensure the group has the necessary resources to operate effectively.

Time Commitment:
This is a volunteer position requiring a commitment of up to 4 meetings per year, including attendance at events to promote the group

Location: Remote (open to hybrid working—coordinate in-office days with the team and Michelle)
Time Commitment: 10 hours per week (includes the Grants & Finance meeting)
Meetings: Required to attend the Grants & Finance monthly online meeting held every first Thursday of the month at 11:00 AM

We’re seeking a Volunteer Project Manager to lead and coordinate our Grants & Finance Team, helping us access essential funding and manage financial resources to support life-changing programmes.
What You’ll Do:

Lead and manage the Grants & Finance Department

Coordinate and chair monthly team meetings

Identify and apply for funding opportunities, managing deadlines and submissions

Track team tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timelines and reporting requirements are met

Align funding applications with the organisation’s goals and strategic priorities

Support with financial oversight, including budgeting and expenditure monitoring

Occasionally attend in-person meetings, if preferred or feasible
Qualifications & Experience:

Experience in finance or money management is essential

Bid writing experience is desirable but not essential

Excellent knowledge of Excel is preferred

Prior experience in grants, fundraising, or nonprofit finance is a plus

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Good written and verbal communication skills
