We are looking to recruit a Communications Volunteer for the Haringey Group. As our Communications Volunteer you’ll make sure people know they have a local MS Society group to turn to.
In this role you’ll be able to develop your writing skills, and gain an experience of communicating across a range of digital channels.

Whether someone has been neglected or abused, trafficked, attempted suicide or stigmatised because of HIV – we have helped to liberate thousands of people from the trauma that controls them. Our community provides people of all ages with a wide range of innovative and creative programmes that support physical, mental and emotional health and well-being. This internship will focus on supporting our You Are Not Alone (YANA) programme which is unique in addressing the those aged 16 - 35 who have attempted suicide or engaged in serious self-harm. We know how difficult the transition from adolescence to adulthood can be, and this programme is designed to provide vital continuity of support for people who are struggling with suicidality during this particularly sensitive period. The programme offers therapeutic and practical interventions for the young person and their family members to support them during this time e.g. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, community events, casework, and advocacy etc.
The successful intern will work alongside the YANA team, to further improve our connections with stakeholders, funders, and referral partners and boost the profile of our suicide prevention services and continue with our work to develop a successful marketing plan.

· Be willing to learn and use the technique, called ‘supported conversation’, that is used to support people with communication difficulties.

Onja is a social enterprise training underprivileged youth into world-class software developers.
We find the brightest students in Madagascar who can’t afford to continue their education, and train them in English language and software development. After just two-and-a-half years they are ready to work as remote front-end software developers in international tech teams.

About the Role
Our first cohort contains 19 developers and we have plans to train hundreds of students in the coming years. In order to do this, we need to communicate more widely and attract a talented team and partner companies to hire our future graduates. To help achieve this, we’re expanding our marketing team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Support the development and rollout of a B2B partnership and brand marketing strategy
- Social media content development, scheduling, and community management for LinkedIn
- Support the development and distribution of database emails
- Collaborate with our partners to create marketing materials
- Create and deploy marketing content that is appealing to our key international audiences

Village Service Trust is a small volunteer-run charity supporting partner organisations in Tamil Nadu, south India. Since our founding in 1976 we have worked with a number of incredibly impactful partners mostly in Theni District. The role:

We are looking for up to three Trustees to join our small friendly charity board. Trustees volunteer their time to govern the charity in compliance with the law. Trustees ensure that our charity work is always being conducted for public benefit, our resources are managed responsibly, and that we are always holding ourselves accountable to our regulators, supporters and beneficiaries.
We hold meetings every three months, usually remotely but with the occasional in-person gathering and at a minimum a commitment to prepare for and attend most meetings is required.

PIP works mainly in the Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster communities to support adults with learning disabilities and autism. Our focus is on teaching and learning life skills so those we work with self-identify as PiP students. Ranging in age from 18 to 92, our average student is around 34 years old.

Main role and purpose of position
St George’s Hospital Charity is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. The Board are the trustees and directors of the charity. The trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, in accordance with the terms of its constitution, legal and regulatory requirements and best practice.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Collectively oversee the strategic direction of the charity and work towards the achievement of the charity’s vision and mission
- Ensure that the charity complies with legal, regulatory, and fiduciary responsibilities, in accordance with the terms of its constitution
- Identify potential development opportunities for the charity, and leverage relationships to facilitate this
- Protect the property, reputation and resources of the charity through ongoing identification, monitoring and management of risks
- Advocate for the charity’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
- Encourage teamwork among Board members and create a strong, profitable and fulfilling working relationship with trustees and the Chief Executive
- Appoint and give support to the Chief Executive of the charity
- Act in the best interests of the charity at all times and to the benefit of present and future beneficiaries of the charity
- Make a positive contribution to the charity’s governance, in accordance with the Trustee Code of Conduct and the Board's Terms of Reference
Qualifications and experience
Fundraising & Trustee
Essential:
- A commitment to the mission, values, and ethos of the charity
- Knowledge of the voluntary sector
- Current or recent professional experience in major donor fundraising and/or strategic partnerships with companies or other organisations
- Passion for the cause and some form of local or regional community connection
- Able to demonstrate evidence of effective delivery working as part of a team
- A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
- Ability to lead through facilitating, enabling, and consensus-building
- Ability to challenge constructively and supportively
- Ability to operate strategically, noticing trends, opportunities, and risks
Communications and change management Trustee
- Current or recent professional experience in change management and/or
- Experience of strategic and digital communications
Clinician/general practitioner
Essential:
- All of the above
- Current or recent professional experience working in a hospital environment or in the community as a GP or nurse
Vice-Chair
The Vice-Chair supports the Chair of Trustees in leading the board, ensuring that it governs the charity effectively, in service of the charity’s vision and mission. The Vice-Chair helps leads in an inclusive way, supporting the board to work together well, and providing support and challenge to the Chief Executive. The Vice-Chair is also an ambassador for the charity and may deputise for the Chair of Trustees as and when necessary.

Our charity delivers a range of awareness campaigns and support services to patients, relatives, partners and carers who have been affected by a poorly understood pain condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). We are looking for 2 experienced social media and communications volunteers who are able to develop posts and campaigns from design to inception, create fresh and engaging content, increase engagement and to increase awareness of the charity and of the condition we represent.
Even though we are a small organisation we have big ideas and would like to draw on your experience in the communications world to help the charity deliver engaging content and communications to help us spread our aims and message to all our audience.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Help increase engagement, improve the number of followers/likes, create & execute a content calendar
- Produce fresh, branded and engaging content for our social media channels
- Prepare graphics and text for sharing across channels
- Engage with our followers and encourage interaction
- Manage and maintain social media channels on a regular basis
- Support charity campaigns, marketing, events and fundraising activities by promoting them on our social media feeds
- Use your creative skills to devise games, competitions and other strategies to engage, grow, and widen our target audiences
- Develop publicity materials and communication techniques for social media to raise awareness of our chronic condition
You will be working with the charity’s founder and Chair as well as with other trustees and volunteers who will provide an overview of our existing social media content, our brand and how we have approached our social media content to date.
Experience
We are looking for a volunteer who has experience in:
- Different types of marketing and communications media, including electronic and social media
- Writing and editing marketing content for social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn
- Building strategies to increase social media following and /or build fundraising or awareness campaigns
- Developing a coherent brand voice for social media, from content creation to community interactions
- Using and setting up tools such as Buffer, Canva, Tweetdeck etc
- Creating and executing content calendars to help plan social media activity

Events and Campaigns at LAFF are seen as a way of engaging and increasing our supporter network. This is a dynamic role which will see you work with the Fundraising and Communications teams to recognise that support is far greater than just financial donations: we put a great value on our community’s time, communication with their personal networks, skills and ideas.
You will take on the responsibility of being a central point of contact for LAFF’s supporters when organizing their own fundraising events, as well as developing and delivering innovative events and campaigns for LAFF.
