The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday to Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Role Overview
As a Post-Production Assistant, you will play a key role in transforming raw footage into polished video content that aligns with Quilombo UK's mission of promoting cultural awareness and community wellbeing. You will work closely with the Video Production Manager and team to edit, refine, and finalize videos for various platforms. This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and a strong understanding of video editing tools and techniques.

Main Responsibilities

• Edit raw footage into cohesive and engaging video content, incorporating music, graphics, and visual effects to enhance storytelling.
• Collaborate with the Video Production Manager and creative team to align the final edits with the organization’s vision, values, and target audience.
• Conduct quality checks on video content, ensuring technical accuracy, proper formatting, and adherence to brand guidelines.
• Manage color correction, sound editing, and visual effects to ensure a professional finish.
• Work with the Video Editor to organize and maintain a clear post-production workflow, including file management, version control, and backups.
• Oversee the creation and integration of subtitles, captions, and translations for accessibility and multilingual audiences.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to video editing software and export settings.
• Optimize videos for various platforms, including social media, websites, and presentations, ensuring proper formatting and resolution.
• Maintain and archive finalized video projects in an organized and accessible system.
• Provide input on improving the post-production process, tools, and resources to enhance efficiency and output quality.
• Stay updated on video editing trends, tools, and best practices to bring fresh and innovative ideas to projects.

Essential

Working Knowledge of Video Editing Platforms:

• Adobe Premiere Pro

Desirable

• Experience in camera set-ups for live events /ob-doc /scripted content

• Appropriate DIT practices for media management 
• Working knowledge of audio production and basic audio set-ups for live events and recorded audio. 
• Experience with streaming services for Youtube and FB Live using applications such as Switcher or OBS and online broadcast hardware. 
• 5 + years of live production in broadcast and film (beneficial but not required)
• Working knowledge of file codecs and wrappers

• Understanding of broadcast acquisition standards for file deliveries (beneficial but not required)
• Knowledge of the production and post production workflow (ingest-edit-project consolidation)
• Digital Asset Management (Utilising enterprise versions of Google Drive etc)

When needed:

Willing to volunteer at least 12 hours a week, for a duration of 16 weeks as part of a Personal Development Program (PDP).

Production roles are hyrbid therefore proximity to London is beneficial as trips to Kingston will need to be made, with reasonable travel expenses paid.

Founded in 2003 and originally named Andrea’s Gift and later Brain Tumour Research and Support

Across Yorkshire, Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity (YBTC) is Yorkshire and Humber’s leading

brain tumour charity. Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child

brain tumour patients, together with their families.

We fund brain tumour research in Yorkshire; we hope this research, dedicated to identifying new

approaches to the discovery and treatment of brain tumours, will improve outcomes for patients.

At YBTC we are a small team who are growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain

tumour in Yorkshire. Around 15 new cases of primary brain tumour are diagnosed in the region

every week.

A crucial volunteer role at the centre, volunteer Reception Helpers help out at least one morning per week to warmly welcome members to the centre, help with queries (in person, by email and over the phone) and direct people to our various activities. Age UK Notts are seeking individuals who would like to be considered as a volunteer for our Companion Service.

Volunteers will be supporting people remotely, in their own homes and in the community within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and ideally, we ask all applicants to provide a minimum of 1 hour volunteering a week.

The companion service volunteer can choose to be:

• A companion telephone/video caller                                                               

• A companion within the person’s home

• A companion outside the person’s home

• Or a combination of all three.

Examples of the type of support the service offers include:

• Telephone / video calls for an older person/s on a regular basis at a mutually agreed time for a friendly chat. 

• Supporting an older person/s hobbies and interests or simply chatting with them in their own home on a regular basis.

• Supporting with digital access & building confidence skills & motivation to access the opportunities of the internet.

• Supporting the person outside of their home e.g., by accompanying them on a walk, to the shops, to a café, garden centre, theatre or cinema or other social activities / community groups.

We are looking for the following skills/interests:

• Individuals with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of older people who are committed to volunteering on a regular basis.

• Ability to travel for visits in the local community either by car or public transport for those volunteers who choose to participate in this type of activity.

Purpose of role: 

Support the Nova Family Programme tutors in facilitating online home school sessions.

Role Description: 

This role will be to act as a teaching assistant to tutors delivering online English, maths and science classes (for young people at Key Stage 2 and 3). With the disruption of Covid-19, many families have been thrown into the unknown world of home schooling – made even more challenging when your own education isn’t up to scratch or English is your second language. We are delivering a free programme of online home school support to those who have been most negatively impacted by being out of school. Now that Schools have reopened, we will be continuing these sessions to ensure that learners do not fall behind as Schools focus on catching up on lost learning. The aim is to support children who may be falling behind with their studies and mitigating as far as possible the widening attainment gap. 

You will:

About Youth ESOL: 

Our award-winning ESOL project offers English language classes to young people at a wide range of levels. This provides vital skills, opportunities and social contact and is crucial for enabling young people to do well at school or college.

About the Role: 

CARAS is looking for volunteer ESOL Teaching Assistants to support our face-to-face study programme called ‘Get Ready for School.’ 

This programme is attended by young people out of education and is based in Tooting on Mondays and Wednesdays. Core delivery of the programme includes English, Maths, Digital skills, complemented by Reading and Writing for Pleasure.

Volunteers in this role are required to commit to at least one 2-hour session per week, during these times:

• Monday 10am - 3pm
• Tuesday 2pm - 6pm
• Wednesday 11am - 6pm

Please note that ESOL classes do not run during school holidays, and we follow Wandsworth Council term dates.

Volunteer  Tasks and Responsibilities: 

• Providing learners with one-to-one or small group support within ESOL classes;

• Help young people to build confidence in digital literacy;

• Helping to set up the classroom and provide learners with classroom resources;

• Engaging learners in informal conversations or games during breaks to help them practice their conversational English.

• Checking the session plan aims with the lead teacher and assisting learners achieve them;

Essential 

• To be 18 years or older;

• Able to travel to our community centre in Tooting (travel and food expenses can be reimbursed);

• To be non-judgemental and able to engage with people from diverse backgrounds;

• Excellent communication skills, especially with people who are new to English;

• The ability to volunteer on Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons/evenings during Wandsworth term time for a minimum of four months;

• Currently resident in the UK; has asylum seeker or refugee status

• Able to provide five years’ worth of addresses, and willing to undergo a DBS check (DBS and proof of residency is not necessary if you are a Caras community member who is more recently arrived in the UK);

• Able to attend volunteer induction training (online) prior to start of role

• Knowledge of community languages, such as Arabic, Tigrinya, Amharic, Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Kurdish, Somali or Spanish.

Tasks and Responsibilities

If your application is successful, you’ll be enrolled in a training group. New groups start every two weeks.

Shout Volunteers receive 25 hours of free training in communication, listening, managing and assessing risk, and problem solving. The training is self-paced and done online. You’ll learn how to bring people in distress to a place of calm and practice skills that will be useful to you throughout life.

As we are investing in you throughout your time with us, our hope is that you will complete the training in a timely manner and look at this as a longer term commitment. The experience you gain over time is valuable and our goal is to have volunteers commit to 200 hours on the platform, which can take up to two years to complete, as we ask you to take one 2-4 hour shift per week. 

Our Volunteer Training Support team is here to support you, answer any questions and provide feedback during training and throughout your time with Shout. You’ll be joining an incredibly supportive volunteer community and have access to the resources you need to do your role.

As a volunteer, you’ll be supporting people in distress, so it’s important we see the skills required to do that while you are in training. While most trainees complete the training and go on to volunteer, not everyone will pass the training. If this happens, there are other ways you can still support us.

Your application will be reviewed once we have received responses from both of your references. We ask for a personal reference and a professional reference. The personal reference can be a friend or colleague but the other must be someone who knows you professionally or has supervised you in some way. 

This could be a manager or supervisor from where you work or a teacher or educator from where you study. We recommend you choose references who are able to speak to your ability to fulfil the selection criteria outlined above.

We do not accept references from family members. This includes your partner or their relatives, your children, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents or godparents. 

Please allow up to a month for us to review your application and return a decision. 

If your application is approved, you can book your place on training. Training groups usually start every two weeks and spaces are available to book a couple of months ahead. While you are in training and before you are allowed on the platform we will carry out a background check.

What will you be doing?

·    Assisting with the donations of stock, by sorting and steaming and preparing for shop floor

·    Maintaining good stock levels and helping with stock rotation

·    Manning the till, including taking card payments and Gift Aid sign-up

We are thrilled to welcome a Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser to support our Operational Director at a pivotal time for our charity.

After a challenging period of inactivity due to the impacts of Covid, we are excited to embark on a new chapter, as we are ready to restart our activities in 2025 and to develop our projects and create a positive impact in our community.

This is a unique opportunity for those eager to be part of a project evolving from its early stages to the launch of new initiatives. The volunteer will have ample opportunity to grow with the charity.

We are looking for a passionate and articulate Fundraiser with experience in focusing on Trusts & Foundations.

What this position entails

Will be working and managing a team of three fundraising assistant volunteers who will also support our charity with Social Media activities. We are looking to recruit a talented and driven individual to join us and help to develop our Trust and Foundations fundraising programme as we are walking towards restarting our activities this year.

The key focus of the role is:

· Work towards developing a warm portfolio of donors, including large multi-year funders, seeking to extend their support wherever possible through close relationship fundraising.

· Researching, exploring and securing new business opportunities.

Main areas of responsibility:

·  Work closely with the Operational Director, Volunteer Marketing Manager and Volunteer Fundraising and Admin Assistants to develop innovative and persuasive proposals aimed at acquiring new partnerships and supporters.

· Thank funders promptly and ensure that regular progress reports and updates are received by supporters as and when required.

· Develop creative and exciting stewardship plans to enhance the long-term relationship between Willowbrook Farm Charity and our funders.

· Work on the fundraising cycle to identify new prospects securing new income.

· Identify new potential funders and match them to WBFC work.

· Prepare and submit high-quality funding proposals and budgets in accordance with timetables and application criteria.

· Maintain accurate records, analysis and reporting of new business secured.

What do you need to become our Fundraising Coordinator?

Essential:

This role would suit a candidate with a good understanding of the charity sector and

proven success in fundraising from trusts and foundations, along with a superb ability to write with flair and creativity, as well as the verbal presentation skills to match. We are looking for a motivated team player to join our exciting and new team of volunteers. The estimated time needed is 4 to 6 hours a week, and we welcome those volunteers who can offer more, although it is not a requirement for the role. We can be flexible and work with you to find hours that fit ours and your schedule - all help is much appreciated!

As a volunteer-led charity, we prioritise volunteers who want to become part of our team of volunteers rather than those looking for a temporary assignment. Therefore, we won’t accept applications from volunteers who cannot commit to at least 5-6 months with us.
