Lead on the development of fundraising support to our 42 cathedrals. A test-and-learn role, with a discovery phase, pilot delivery and the strategic development of programmes, resources and training that are proven to grow fundraised income.
Description
This role is to develop the fundraising support we offer our 42 cathedrals. Church of England cathedrals play a uniquely significant role in national, civic and spiritual life, serving first and foremost as centres of Christian worship and the seat of the bishop, but also as some of the country's most important cultural and community institutions. They act as focal points for diocesan life and as places where people gather for major moments of public celebration and grief, while also contributing extensively to education, music, heritage, tourism and local economies. Their scale, history and openness mean they attract millions of visitors, many of whom are not regular churchgoers, offering space for reflection, creativity and engagement with the Christian story.
However, this breadth of purpose brings significant challenges: cathedrals must balance worship with growing expectations as civic and cultural venues, operate in an increasingly secular and diverse society, and maintain complex historic buildings with limited and often uncertain funding. With many facing structural financial deficits and high costs for maintenance and staffing, alongside reliance on fundraising, grants and visitor income, their long-term sustainability depends on improving and expanding their fundraising activity and successfully developing new income streams while safeguarding their core mission and heritage.
This role is deliberately designed as a test-and-learn function. Its future scope and resourcing will be shaped by the evidence generated through its work. There is a clear expectation that, subject to demonstrated impact, this role will contribute to the development of a sustainable and appropriately resourced model of fundraising support for cathedrals across the Church of England.
This role is a three year fixed term contract.

Responsibilities
The Head of Cathedral Fundraising Development is a newly established role within the Giving Directorate and working alongside the B&C team, responsible for strengthening and developing fundraising capacity across the 42 mainland cathedrals of the Church of England. This role is funded for an initial 3-year period, and there is an expectation this work will grow and develop during this period should the audit and piloting of support in the first twelve months identify the need for ongoing support.
Reporting to the Director of Giving (who will line manage you, agree your work plans and development, and who you will be responsible to for the successful delivery of the agreed work plans) and also accountable to the Director of Bishoprics & Cathedrals (to ensure the work meets the needs of the Bishoprics & Cathedrals department, and aligns with their various work streams), this role will lead a programme of discovery, pilot delivery, and strategic development to determine the most effective models of fundraising support for cathedrals. The postholder will work closely with cathedral leaders, development teams, and national colleagues to build confidence, test approaches, and develop scalable solutions grounded in demonstrable impact. This testing of approaches will involve engaging with, and supporting, cathedrals in their fundraising approaches to high net worth individuals, grant making trusts and others, so that tangible evidence of impact can be seen.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate annual calendar of volunteer training events
· Work in partnership with the Volunteer Development Manager to understand volunteer recruitment needs across services and the wider team.
· Liaise with services teams to plan and develop the calendar of volunteer training events, both in person and virtual.

A 12-month fixed-term contract - with the aim of extending the period depending on the income generated
Hours: 22.5 Hours Per Week (Part-time) – days/times of work are flexible
Salary: £16,000 - £18,000 per annum (FTE £26,667–£30,000 per annum)
Holiday: 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per annum for full-time equivalent, rising to 25 days leave with service. For a 3-day week, this equates to 120 hours, plus Bank Holidays.
Work location: home based with travel across the Wirral Peninsula

About Dementia Together Wirral
We are a local, independent charity based on the Wirral, supporting people living with dementia, their carers, and former carers by providing community-based activities and day trips. We help people stay active, enjoy friendship and creativity, reduce isolation, and feel included, valued and respected.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic Fundraiser to help us grow our income so that we can reach more people and provide more activities, events and support on the Wirral
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing local support, and turning ideas into practical fundraising activity. The main focus of the role will be local community fundraising, with some involvement in trusts, foundations and grant applications where appropriate.
About the role
As our Fundraiser, you will help us develop and deliver a practical fundraising plan to support the charity’s continued growth. You will build relationships with local businesses, community groups, volunteers, supporters and potential donors, and identify opportunities to raise funds for our services.
You will also help us strengthen our fundraising systems, improve supporter communications, and make sure that donors and funders understand the difference their support makes.
The post is initially offered for three days a week for 12 months, with the aim of extending it further, depending on the income generated or if additional funding can be secured.
Key responsibilities
As our fundraiser, you will:
· Develop and deliver a realistic fundraising plan, with a strong focus on local business and community fundraising.
· Build relationships with community organisations, local businesses, faith groups, schools, clubs and individual supporters.
· Identify and pursue opportunities for sponsorship, donations, fundraising events and charity partnerships.
· Support and encourage volunteers, trustees and staff to take part in fundraising activities.
· Help organise and promote community fundraising events and campaigns.
· Research suitable grant-making trusts, foundations and local funding opportunities.
· Prepare clear, persuasive funding applications where appropriate.
· Maintain accurate fundraising records and help ensure good donor stewardship.
· Work with colleagues to gather stories, outcomes and information that show the impact of the charity’s work.
· Ensure all fundraising activity is legal, ethical and in line with the charity’s values and relevant fundraising standards.
Person specification
You will bring:
· Experience in fundraising, community engagement, events, grant applications, relationship management, and working towards targets.
· Confidence in approaching and building relationships with local businesses and community supporters.
· Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to speak engagingly in public and to write clearly and persuasively, and use social media effectively.
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several pieces of work simultaneously.
· A practical, hands-on approach suited to a small charity.
· An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, dementia and the needs of people living with dementia, their carers and former carers.
· A commitment to inclusive, respectful, and person-centred support.
· A good working knowledge of UK Funding Standards.
· You should also be:
o willing to work occasional evenings and weekends
o a driver with a vehicle available for business use

This is a key senior leadership role, responsible for shaping and leading RNID’s community services so that we change lives one by one. The Director of Community Services will lead our flagship RNID Near You services and Contact RNID, with responsibility for business development, operational delivery, service quality, safeguarding, volunteer management and continuous improvement.
As Director of Community Services you will:
Provide strategic leadership for RNID’s community services, setting a clear direction, maintaining strong delivery discipline and maximising impact for our service-users.
Set and maintain high standards for service quality and assurance, ensuring consistent practice, effective compliance arrangements and a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Grow RNID’s community services by maximising opportunities to establish new RNID Near You services and maintaining a strong future services roadmap.

Support those who Care
This is an exciting opportunity to join our service supporting Carers across City of London to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs. We are working with Carers from a range of cultures, and it would be an advantage to speak Bengali.
The team work holistically with Carers to understand their individual circumstances and level of need. You’ll carry out home visits and community-based meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Carers, families, and professionals. You will also support Carers to complete written forms and applications, draft letters, and advocate with third parties.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. The role also requires you to support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.
Together with colleagues, you will plan and deliver the service’s activity package, including coffee mornings, drop-in sessions, activities, online and face to face groups, and peer support forums. There will also be opportunities to promote the service by attending meetings and forums, and to deliver training sessions to professionals and community organisations so that they have the skills to identify Carers.
Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector.
This is a full-time position, and you should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services.
