Community Development Officer – West Wales

Swyddog Datblygu Cymunedol – Gorllewin Cymru

We are looking to recruit a Community Development Officer to engage key partners and stakeholders across the Hywel Dda Health Board GP Cluster area for Tywi/Taf.  This will be from Whitland in the west to Llandovery in the east & will include Carmarthen town. The role includes tailoring support, training and education to create suicide safer communities.

Bydd hyn o Hendy-gwyn ar Daf yn y gorllewin i Lanymddyfri yn y dwyrain ac yn cynnwys tref Caerfyrddin. Mae’r rôl yn cynnwys teilwra cefnogaeth, hyfforddiant ac addysg i greu cymunedau diogelach rhag hunanladdiad.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience of leading and working on community-based projects
  • A proven track record of delivering training and/or learning workshops/educational activities
  • Previous successful experience of interagency working and networking with stakeholders
  • Experience as an ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain the qualification and experience
  • The ability to regularly travel to different locations across the region.
  • The ability to speak both Welsh and English is strongly desirable

Location: The successful candidate will initially be based from home and will be required to work flexibly. This will include regular travel across the patch and attending the South Wales office in Cardiff, from time to time.
