As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers

· planning fundraising events and activities with your team

· allocating tasks before and during fundraising events

· keeping financial records from fundraising events

· encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 

· following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with HR and leadership team to understand needs, roles and requirements.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies and campaigns.
- Utilise online platforms, social media, and community networks to advertise opportunities.
- Assist with review applications and inquiries, and assess candidate suitability.
- Conduct interviews with potential candidates to determine their skills, motivations, and alignment with our values and visions.
- Maintain a database of potential and current candidates and keeping track of their skills, interests, and availability.
- Work closely with leadership team and other team members to ensure a seamless transition from recruitment to engagement.
- Regularly report on recruitment metrics and effectiveness to the leadership team.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve recruitment process.

Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively market and promote opportunities.
- Experience in recruitment, human resources, or volunteer management is a plus.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

We need more fosterers like you to provide a safe, temporary haven for cats and kittens and provide them with everything they need before they get their chance to land on their four paws and make a house a home.

In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.

What Trustees Do 

As a Trustee of RLS, you will: 

• Attend four Board meetings each year (hybrid) 

• Provide strategic direction and oversight of the charity’s activities 

• Support and hold the Executive Director accountable 

• Review and approve budgets, policies and risk management 

• Join at least one Board committee (Finance, Risk, Casework or HR), which may involve additional meetings 

If you join as a Finance Trustee, you will also: 

• Review monthly management accounts and annual budgets 

• Provide advice on financial controls and strategic financial planning 

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For 

All Trustees should bring: 

• A strong commitment to our mission and values 

• Good judgment and the ability to work collectively 

• Energy and enthusiasm for our work and an interest in using their skills to contribute to our organisation 

• A willingness to learn and support others 

We are particularly seeking individuals with any of the following: 

• UK legal aid experience under an immigration contract 

• Knowledge of the Greek immigration and asylum system 

• Fundraising, philanthropy or communications expertise 

• HR and people management experience 

• Financial oversight and planning experience (for Finance Trustee role) 

• Knowledge of charity governance and risk 

• Legal background (especially refugee, immigration, or human rights law) 

Time Commitment 

• Approx. 8 hours per month 

• Board meetings held quarterly (a mix of in-person and online) 

• Participation in one subcommittee 

• Ad hoc support via email or calls, as needed 

• Initial term of three years, renewable once 

Location 

Our board is UK-based, with some trustees based in London. We welcome applicants from across the UK, and will support remote attendance at meetings where needed. Trustees may occasionally be invited to attend events or team meetings in London, though this is not essential.

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

You can expect us to

• make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
• support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
• provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· help set up and/or man stalls at events

· help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections

· help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances

· promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Ranger Cadets is seeking dedicated, highly motivated individuals to assume the role of Uniformed Volunteer Leader (Cadet Officer/Instructor). This is a prestigious leadership position responsible for guiding, mentoring, and inspiring young people (aged 10-18) as they progress through our structured programme of citizenship, life skills, and uniformed service.

This role is ideal for those who thrive in a structured environment, possess strong leadership capabilities, and are committed to transferring their professional and life skills to the next generation of active citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Uniformed Volunteer Leader, you will be the face and backbone of your local Cadet Unit, upholding the standards and ethos of Ranger Cadets.

• Leadership & Command: Assume command authority over a group of cadets, managing their welfare, discipline, and training during parade nights and activities.

• Structured Training Delivery: Plan and deliver structured weekly parade night sessions, focusing on drill, teamwork exercises, leadership tasks, and syllabus-based learning (e.g., first aid, citizenship, expedition skills).

• Mentorship & Development: Act as a visible, uniformed role model, actively coaching cadets through the rank structure and award schemes, helping them develop essential life skills and confidence.

• Administration & Compliance: Oversee necessary unit administration, ensuring all activities comply with safeguarding, health & safety policies, and Ranger Cadets' standards.

• Ceremonial Duties: Lead and participate in formal ceremonies, parades, and community events, representing Ranger Cadets with professionalism and pride.

Who We Are Looking For:

We value proven leadership, structure, and commitment. While military or emergency service experience is highly desirable, we welcome applications from all professional backgrounds where leadership, organisation, and coaching skills are paramount.

Nova New Opportunities is an educational charity based near Ladbroke Grove. As we ease out of London, we are looking for volunteers to help on day trips in and around London to support families in getting back to normality again.

Trips will include anything from horse riding through to the beach, farms and Kew Gardens. This is an opportunity to help families from marginalised communities while gaining experience of working with a small, friendly and supportive charity.

Volunteers will help the group leader to accompany groups of parents/guardians and their children on a variety of cultural/fun trips, helping to make them feel welcome. 

Suitable volunteers will be reliable and sociable and enjoy working with children. Volunteers must be available for day trips during school holidays, as this is when most of the trips take place.

Volunteers receive a full induction, and support from the Children and Young People Coordinator. Travel expenses on the outings and any entrance fees are covered, and some further expenses can also be claimed.

IMPORTANT: An enhanced DBS check is required for this role, and so we are unfortunately only able to accept applications from UK-based applicants or British nationals living abroad.
