DYP is seeking a dedicated, vibrant Mentoring Assistant to support the delivery and growth of our youth mentoring and educational and digital awareness programmes. Working closely with the Youth Mentoring Lead, you will help strengthen and deliver services that empower unaccompanied asylum seekers and refugees from the Horn of Africa aged 14-25. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing consistent support across youth clubs and mentoring drop-in sessions

• Assisting with individual and group mentoring tailored to personal, educational, and career goals

• Coordinating educational services such as ESOL classes, college registrations, and referrals

• Supporting digital inclusion initiatives to ensure young people have access to essential tools and skills

• Building strong partnerships with local authorities, schools, and community organisations

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a commitment to youth empowerment, and the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders. Experience in mentoring, education, or youth work is desirable, alongside a sound understanding of trauma-informed work and the demographics of our clients. 

This is a freelance, full-time role (35 hours per week) with a daily fee of £135, and a 3 month probation period. Work will be based in Streatham, with flexibility to work from home and other community locations.

Our ESOL service was established in 2017 and now runs 5 days per week and offers English lessons for resettled refugees and an English Club with an emphasis on learning skills for integration into UK society. We are a growing team of ESOL tutors and childcare professionals providing training to help refugees and their families to resettle in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire.

We are seeking someone who is creative, reflective and able to implement new ideas to continually improve practice and support the management team.This is an important role caring for children, maintaining a high quality, stimulating learning environment.

This role will deputise for creche session leaders in cases of staff sickness or training and will therefore be required to work on either site at short notice in such instances. Candidates must be able to be in either Shefford or Bedford from 9:30-14:30 with notice being given by 8:30am in case of cover need. About Coram

Coram is the UK’s oldest children’s charity founded by Thomas Coram in London helping vulnerable children and young people since 1739. One of the nine members of the Coram group, Coram Children’s Legal Centre (CCLC) is the UK’s specialist centre for children’s rights in education, immigration, community care and family law, and provides significant international legal systems consultancy. The centre is located on the Coram Campus in central London with a base in Colchester. We champion access to justice through information and advice, legal practice and representation, policy and strategic litigation. Our Legal Practice Unit provides advice and representation primarily under legal aid contract. Our Policy and Practice Change team promotes practice change through training and capacity building to professionals and secures systems change through research, policy and advocacy.

About the role

This role will provide leadership and management for CCLC particularly focused on the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. The role will be accountable for maximising the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs and will hold responsibility for the unit’s billing systems. It will also be responsible for private fees billing. The post-holder will oversee the smooth running of legal aid billing including through line management of the billing team. The post-holder will work very closely with legal, operations and administrative staff. The role will act as a key point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders including Coram’s central finance team who will support the role with grant fund management and overall accounting functions for CCLC. The post-holder will support the Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children’s Rights and department heads in the successful maintenance of our relationship with the Legal Aid Agency. Where appropriate they will be deputising for the Managing Director on legal aid and financial matters.

The role would suit a highly organised and efficient legal aid lawyer, or a finance or billing professional with solid experience of legal practice and a deep understanding of the challenges of legal aid. Whilst candidates with direct experience of legal billing (and more specifically civil legal aid billing) are welcomed, we recognise that this is a highly specialised and niche field. As such, this role could suit a highly experienced solicitor who appreciates the important role developing sustainable businesses plays in ensuring access to justice and who therefore wishes to move into practice and financial management. They will need an aptitude for processing large amounts of data, developing and managing spreadsheets and improving organisational systems. However, they will be well supported through training, an enthusiastic and competent junior billing team, the central finance team and an outsourced legal cashiering company, as well as a friendly and collaborative management team including the Managing Director and the Heads of Education Law, Community Care Law and Immigration and Asylum Law.

This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the billing team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period and there will be flexibility over how the three days will be spread across the week (within working hours). The team are mostly based in the London office and with one billing team member in Colchester so the post holder may require some occasional travel.

We are excited to be recruiting a Coordinator to join The Scholars Programme Team and support us in delivering the goals set out in Join the Club, our ambitious strategy for 2021-2026. The Coordinator supports the Programme Management and University Events teams, and wider organisation, helping to ensure strategic priorities are effectively delivered, and that schools, tutors and universities receive a high-quality service.

The role will lead on several administrative processes and will include regular document creation, data input and management, liaising with stakeholders and supporting Scholars Programme events. This role will be based in our London office and will involve in-person working in the office one day per week, as well as some travel to support at events at our different university partners.

Bounce Back for Kids (BB4K) is a lifeline for children healing from the trauma of domestic abuse. From April next year, we’re expanding our service and looking for new Triage and Assessment Worker to join our team – helping guide children and families on their healing journey.

Position: Bounce Back for Kids (BB4K) Triage and Assessment Worker

Location: Reading with hybrid working arrangements.

Contract: Permanent full time – 37 hours per week, weekdays.

Salary range: £25,735 - £31,453 per annum

About the role:

As Triage and Assessment Worker you will play a significant role in supporting children and families affected by domestic abuse, some of your key responsibilities will include:

· being the first point of contact for families referred to our service

· conducting structured assessments to understand needs

· providing skilled practical help and advice to enable families to reach an informed decision

· presenting cases at internal triage meetings, providing clear recommendations for support pathways.

About you:

As a successful Triage and Assessment Worker, you will have experience of working directly with vulnerable families, ideally within a domestic abuse, safeguarding, or trauma-informed context. You will also have experience of case management and case presentation. With excellent interpersonal skills, you'll actively listen, build trust quickly, and communicate effectively while providing a telephone-based service.

We are recruiting for motivated, values-driven advocates to join a new, innovative community gender-based abuse support service in Southwark. This is not a traditional role. You will support people of all genders and help shape a service built around prevention, creativity, and community voice.

The Role

You will work directly with people in community settings, carrying out risk and needs assessments, creating safety plans and using trauma-informed and coaching approaches. You’ll be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team working in new and flexible ways.

Hours: 35hrs/week. Jobholders work with colleagues to cover core service hours of 8:00 am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
