Volunteer with us at our Christmas Community Day on Saturday 22nd November 2025!

Rainbow Hill Community Hub have invited Acorns to have a small craft and fundraising stall at the Christmas Community Day.

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £13 million a year to run our care services.

What's involved?

We are looking for volunteers who can run a small craft stall with the children, no speacial skills required, however, resources will be provided. We will also be taking donations for Acorns Childrens Hospice.

Entry is provided as well as drinks throughout the day. There is also parking nearby.

How much time will it take? 

12:45-4pm – You can choose to volunteer within these hours or as long as you want.

This year's event will take place at the Nottingham Lakeside Arts Centre, part of the University of Nottingham, making it a desirable venue due to its strong connections with the university and the upcoming Nottingham Research Centre, set to open in 2026.

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· help set up and/or man stalls at events

· help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections

· promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

We’re looking for a number of Community Connectors over the age of 18 years old, based across various locations in Wales.

You’ll be volunteering: A minimum of 10 hours per month, Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm.

The volunteers could be:

• Providing a valuable support to our teams based within the region.
• Build relationships with people, and organisations to raise awareness of stroke and the Stroke Association.
• Engaging with your local community to represent the Stroke Association, this could include hosting an information stand at local face events.
• Sharing your knowledge and experience of stroke to others.
• Researching and gathering information relating to life after stroke services.
• Attending fundraising events, including donation collections.
