Job description

Volunteer Role: Head of Programme Development & Delivery

Unlock YOUR Potential — Social Mobility Charity

Design and deliver the programmes that will transform lives across England.

Unlock YOUR Potential is a passionate, volunteer‑run social mobility charity supporting adults from working‑class, low‑income, and underserved communities. We break down barriers, open doors, and equip people with the skills, tools, networks, and confidence to thrive.

We are now seeking a visionary Head of Programme Development & Delivery to lead the creation, refinement, and delivery of our empowering programmes. This is a defining leadership role for a charity with national ambition — perfect for someone who wants to build meaningful, high‑quality experiences that unlock potential and drive social mobility.

About the Role

As our Head of Programme Development & Delivery, you will shape the heart of our charity: the programmes that change lives. You will design innovative, enriching, and accessible learning experiences while ensuring they are delivered with excellence, dignity, and impact.

You will lead on:

1. Programme Design & Innovation

  • Creating new programmes that build confidence, skills, networks, and professional readiness.

  • Designing content, workshops, learning pathways, and participant journeys.

  • Ensuring programmes reflect our mission, values, and Culture Code.

2. Programme Delivery & Quality

  • Overseeing the delivery of all programmes across England.

  • Supporting facilitators, mentors, and volunteers to deliver high‑quality sessions.

  • Ensuring consistency, professionalism, and participant‑centred practice.

3. Impact & Evaluation

  • Developing tools to measure participant progress, outcomes, and long‑term impact.

  • Using feedback and data to refine and improve programme quality.

  • Ensuring our programmes genuinely break down barriers and open doors.

4. Volunteer & Facilitator Support

  • Working closely with the Volunteering Manager to recruit and train programme volunteers.

  • Providing guidance, resources, and development opportunities for facilitators.

  • Building a supportive, empowering environment for everyone involved in delivery.

5. Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborating with the Founder and leadership volunteers to shape programme strategy.

  • Ensuring programmes align with organisational goals and national growth plans.

  • Helping position Unlock YOUR Potential as a leader in adult social mobility.

This role is ideal for someone who loves designing experiences, leading delivery teams, and creating environments where adults can grow, thrive, and excel.

What You Bring

You don’t need charity experience — just creativity, organisation, and a passion for social mobility. We welcome people from all backgrounds, especially those with lived experience of the barriers we aim to break.

You are likely someone who is:

  • Skilled in programme design, facilitation, education, or training.

  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects.

  • Passionate about creating empowering, inclusive learning experiences.

  • Comfortable leading volunteers and supporting delivery teams.

  • Excited to build programmes that will be recognised across England.

What You’ll Gain

  • A senior leadership role shaping the core of a national‑ambition charity.

  • Experience in programme design, delivery leadership, and impact evaluation.

  • The chance to build transformative programmes from the ground up.

  • A supportive, purpose‑driven community.

  • The knowledge that your work directly empowers adults to grow, thrive, and unlock their potential.

Time Commitment

Flexible and shaped around your availability. We value your time and will work with you to create a sustainable, enjoyable leadership role.
