CleanupUK is a small charity with big aspirations. We use the activity of litter-picking to support people living in disadvantaged areas to form litter-picking groups – not only to keep their neighbourhood clean but also to bring the community together.

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Volunteer Fundraising Lead to help us grow our income and strengthen our financial sustainability. This is a key voluntary role for someone with a background in fundraising who wants to use their skills to make a measurable difference in a sensitive but vital area of public benefit, increasingly recognised as an urgent issue and one in receipt of growing governmental attention.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and lead a fundraising strategy aligned with our mission and values

It Gets Better UK is a lived-experience-led LGBT+ youth charity, working to tackle the disproportionate mental health challenges LGBT+ young people face today, through a collection of community-sourced, lived-experience stories; educational programs; and community-building initiatives.

About the role

We’re seeking a volunteer to help grow our community fundraising. This role is ideal for someone who loves engaging people, sparking ideas, and turning energy into impact. You’ll play a key role in supporting people who want to fundraise for It Gets Better UK — whether that’s a school bake sale, a sponsored run, or a workplace Pride fundraiser.

What you’ll do

• Support with creating and sharing fundraising ideas, toolkits, and resources.
• Help engage and thank community fundraisers and donors.
• Assist with online fundraising campaigns and platforms.
• Contribute to spreading the word about opportunities to give and get involved.

What we’re looking for

• Great people skills and a friendly, supportive approach.
• Creativity in spotting opportunities for fundraising.
• Enthusiasm for LGBTQ+ visibility, storytelling, and empowerment.
• No prior fundraising experience needed — just a willingness to learn.

TAHMEF

We are a HealthTech nonprofit providing stigma-free digital and community-based mental health support to Tanzanian youth.

In Tanzania, over 50% of the population is under 25, yet youth face stigma, lack of access, and a severe shortage of mental health services. Only a handful of mental health professionals serve the entire country, and young people in underserved urban and rural areas are left without affordable or accessible support. This mental health gap leads to poor education outcomes, unemployment, and worsening health inequities.

Our flagship initiative, AHADI, is Tanzania’s first integrated hybrid digital and in-person mental health facility. It combines a mobile app (Ahadi App) , SMS helpline (15061), and toll-free IVR hotline (199) with AI-driven tools and community outreach. AHADI provides discreet, affordable, and accessible support, designed with and for young people. We also run stigma-reduction campaigns, and community outreach to normalize conversations around mental health.

Fundraising & Partnerships Volunteer

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

We are looking for a passionate volunteer to support the Tanzania Health and Medical Education Foundation (TAHMEF) in mobilizing resources to scale our flagship initiative, AHADI — Tanzania’s first hybrid digital and in-person mental health facility for youth.

Responsibilities include: -Researching and identifying potential donors, foundations, and corporate partners aligned with youth mental health and digital health. -Drafting fundraising proposals, concept notes, and partnership outreach emails. -Supporting the development of fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategies. -Assisting in building and managing a donor/partner pipeline. -Contributing innovative ideas to strengthen sustainability and long-term growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing African HealthTech nonprofit that has already engaged over 500,000 youth and resolved more than 10,000 cases through our digital helpline and app.

Enhancing transparency and mobilizing alumni and private sector support ensures equitable access to quality education, fostering inclusive learning and workforce readiness for the next generation.

AlumUnite connects schools with alumni and private sector funding using AI-powered needs assessment and data-driven insights. Our platform and suite of products (Circles, CodED, and Endowment Fund Builder) enhance transparency, mobilize resources efficiently, and ensure impact tracking—empowering schools with sustainable funding while improving education quality and workforce readiness across Africa.

Partnerships & Fundraising

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Support with unlocking corporate-matching initiatives across FT1000 employers and employees, particularly in the US.

Source aligned CSR/ESG partners, set up intro calls, and maintain partner CRM.

Support with reachouts to large foundations, NGOs, development partners, with interest in Education or interventions that can improve educational outcomes e.g.., sports, energy, technology, and internet, etc.
