The 78ᵗʰ annual Hanbury Show, which takes place on Saturday 5th July in 2025, is loved by families from across the region. There really is something to entice and occupy all ages - exciting displays, action-packed arena programmes, have-a-go activities, local food and drink, and quality shopping. 

 At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £13 million a year to run our care services. 

Join our amazing fundraising team for an exciting day of giving back on Saturday 5th July at Hanbury, we need enthusiastic volunteers to:

• Collect donations to support a great cause.
• Manning the awareness stand.
• A volunteer to dress up as Alex the Acorns!

This is a great opportunity to make a real difference, connect with the community, and support an important cause. Join us and be part of something special!

How much time will it take?

The event runs from  8am-1pm and 1pm-5pm; you can join for a few hours, or the full day—whatever suits you!

We’ll provide bottled water and snacks, parking should be available, and you’ll get free entry to the show!

Jumble Sales Organiser Volunteer

Would you like to raise funds, have fun and join a super team of volunteers who together make our Jumble Sales in Thatcham a great success?  As Jumble Sales Organiser you would be helping to make everything run smoothly for the team.

Time Expectations:  1 Saturday every other month (plus preparations)

This could be a shared role and tasks may include:

· Booking the hall for future Jumbles

· Contacting the Jumble team before events to check availability

· Set up stalls, running a stall and packing away at the end

· Collecting any items/resources needed from the centre the day before

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

1. Subject Ambassador: 

· Actively participate in sessions to encourage student engagement

· Act as a classroom assistant to support our facilitators

· Depending on individual goals, work with MTA staff to develop a personal progression plan to gain relevant experience in key areas including (but not limited to): working with children, leadership, assistant directing, musical direction and more

2. Front of House / Chaperone 

· Help assist with events management in many areas which can align to your personal goals

· Potentially take on specific event tasks (i.e. events logistics including set up/pack down, running a stall at fundraising events etc.)

· Serve as a point of contact for students and parents ensuring a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.  

· Provide backstage support and supervision to children and young people – ensuring the children have a great experience

· Provide entertainment for groups (i.e. playing games, encouraging arts & crafts etc.)

· Help assist with moving children and young people to and from the stage and/or performance location

3. Stage / Production Crew 

· In line with your personal experience and/or personal development goals, help assist with the technical and/or logistical needs of performances

About Student Action for Refugees

STAR (Student Action for Refugees) is the national network of students building a society where refugees and asylum seekers are welcomed and can thrive. 

Set up by students at Nottingham University in 1994, STAR is creating a more understanding, just and welcoming society by: 

• empowering young people to be changemakers; 
• providing practical support and connecting local communities through volunteering and student volunteer led community projects; 
• challenging the structural barriers that refugees and asylum seekers face when seeking protection and building new lives in the UK; 
• Sharing trusted information about asylum and the lived experience of refugees to combat misinformation, hostile narratives and instead spread compassion and humanisation

Here are just some of our highlights from last year:

• 37  STAR university student society groups, across 28  towns and cities, run by 222 STAR student leaders. 
• 262 events were organised by STAR groups to educate, campaign, and fundraise for a more welcoming UK, from art exhibitions to cookery classes and film nights.
• 1,280 refugees and people seeking asylum were supported by 413 volunteers  through 28 community projects and 25 one off volunteering events. 
• 100s of students mobilised to support calls for better treatment of refugees in the UK including standing against detention, for a fairer plan for refugees and to lift the ban on work.
• 88 UK universities now offer sanctuary scholarships for refugee students. The STAR staff team was involved in the development of many of these new scholarships and the improvement of  existing scholarships. We also ran workshops for hundreds of  university staff. 
• 15 STAR groups campaigned for Equal Access at their institutions and 4 won!
• 65 aspiring refugee students were supported by our mentoring project and we provided signposting and advice about accessing HE to over 470 people.

Canine Partners are looking for a volunteer videographer for the opportunity to film newborn litters, dogs in training and partnerships as well as advertisements to promote the charity’s work and need for volunteers

What is involved

• Adhoc video sessions which will primarily be based at our National Training Centre but may also be on location, so please apply from any area of the UK as we may have an opportunity in your area

• Editing video for use within promotional materials and on digital channels
• Videos taken and final edited films will be licenced for use and owned by Canine Partners.

This role is vital to the work of FareShare Merseyside. You will be preparing and cooking meals for our volunteers and staff, cleaning down the kitchen, and adhering to allergen, HACCP, and other compliance checks.

For the role of the Volunteer Kitchen Assistant, a background in food is desirable but not essential. If you have experience working in a kitchen, a passion for food and sustainability, and a willingness to learn new skills whilst working in a small team, you would be a great fit for this role!

What will I be doing?

• Helping to plan, create, and cook meals from surplus food for volunteer and staff lunches.
• Carrying out routine kitchen cleaning, health and safety checks, and completing all relevant paperwork.

• Not an essential but ideally be able to do studio photography, this would include editing white background and cut out PNGs for use in design.

• Ideally be local to or able to travel to the National Training Centre
• Comfortable with indoor and outdoor photography
• Have knowledge of GDPR and consents/permissions
• Be comfortable with us completing a DBS

• A point of contact who will support you in your role

Location

To be based near or willing to travel to Canine Partners National Training Centre, Ashby Road, Loughborough, LE12 9SR.
On shoot locations possible to be agreed upon.

Other locations across the UK will also be considered but please note, these will be on an adhoc basis dependent on need of photography in that area so opportunities may be fewer.

International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) is a UK-registered animal welfare charity dedicated to creating a better future for animals in need.

IAPWA are currently seeking an Event Co-ordinator to join their UK team to support their ‘Dip for Dogs’ fundraising initiative.

From identifying locations to host a charity ice bath event, to recruiting and supporting volunteers to assist on the day, you will be part of a charity who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of animals in need.
