About Us
We are a new CIC podcast and media platform that provides a safe space for survivors of childhood sexual trauma within the Black British Caribbean community to tell their truth—and shame the devil. Through storytelling, cultural therapy, and partnership building, we aim to heal and empower.

We're now recruiting a Volunteer Outreach & Partnership Specialist to lead one of the most critical arms of our CIC.

Your Role

1. Guest Outreach & Curation (Primary):

• Lead strategy to find, vet, and schedule guests from the Black British Caribbean community who are ready to share lived experiences of childhood sexual trauma in a respectful, empowering, and supported environment.

• Manage the guest outreach pipeline via Airtable, Trello, or Notion.

• Liaise with our team to ensure a trauma-informed, mission-aligned guest journey.

2. Partnerships & Sponsorships:

• Identify and secure sponsorships and partnerships with charities, organisations, government bodies, and brands aligned with our values.

• Build and maintain a network of long-term collaborators in mental health, therapy, media, and advocacy.

• Align partnerships with growth, impact, and fundraising goals.

3. General Duties:

• Attend monthly in-person team meet-ups (Greater London).

• Collaborate with other CIC team members.

• Represent our values: knowledge of self, community love, and truth-telling.

Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers

· planning fundraising events and activities with your team

· allocating tasks before and during fundraising events

· keeping financial records from fundraising events

· encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 

· following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Read Easy provides free, confidential, one to-one reading coaching for adults who struggle with reading, through a network of volunteer groups. Read Easy groups are changing the lives of individual adults across the country by providing them with the support they need to learn to read, and in turn opening doors for them to all sorts of new opportunities in life. Outline of the Administrator/Secretary role

Being an excellent timekeeper and an organised individual, your administration skills will be vital to support the smooth running of the local Management Team. By recording actions agreed at meetings, and supporting the Team Leader, Management Team and Coordinator with administrative support, this role ensures that the group functions at its best and works in the most efficient and effective way to help adults learn to read in your community.

How we will support you

You will be provided with the Management Team Handbook, training/induction, policies and guidance specifically needed for this role, including access to support from a Read Easy UK Regional Adviser, via your Team Leader. You will also be invited to Read Easy UK’s regional forums and annual conference which give volunteers an opportunity for networking with those from other groups.

What you will be doing

● Arranging Team meetings with the Team Leader and distributing agendas

● Recording actions agreed at the team meeting and distributing notes on required actions

● Submitting Coach and Reader Finisher questions responses to REUK

● When required, supporting the Coordinator with printing and copying

● Supporting with general administration for your group

● Attending regular Management Team meetings, typically every 6-8 weeks

Our cat admissions volunteers ensure the smooth running of our admissions process, helping our volunteer groups and teams admit cats into our care in the most effective and stress-free way possible for both people and cats. It Gets Better UK envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. We strive to tell the stories of LGBTQ+ people and to provide positive and reassuring messages to LGBTQ+ youth.

The It Gets Better Project was founded in 2010 in America. Since then, affiliated charities have been formed in over 20 different countries. We are now at the exciting stage of continue to grow and develop the UK affiliate having formally launched in October 2018.

Join our network of Regional Ambassadors to help promote It Gets Better UK, to inspire and engage with members of their local LGBTQ+ communities to get involved, and to help fundraise.

We're looking for volunteers UK-wide, particularly across Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and parts of England (North East, North West, and South West). If you are not based in these areas but are interested in the role, you are still welcome to apply as the local role exists across the country. 

What will I be doing? 

We ask Regional Ambassadors to deliver four self-led regional actions per year, and to expect to be asked to be involved in more ad-hoc centrally-led actions and activities as these arise. Key activities include: 

• Raise awareness of It Gets Better UK and our work through talking to members of the LGBTQ+ community in your area, and on social media 

• Look after our information and fundraising stands at local events – most importantly, hosting an It Gets Better UK Pride stall in your local area. Members of the It Gets Better team will support you with sign-up admin and capacity on the day. So far, we're planning to attend Edinburgh Pride!

• Support other members of the It Gets Better UK volunteer team to deliver events in their area by adding capacity where possible, and within a distance that suits you – for example, helping out at a Pride stall run by another Ambassador nearby. 

• Deliver talks to local LGBTQ+ groups, community groups, schools etc about the work of It Gets Better UK and how they could help us achieve our goals 

• Inspire members of the LGBTQ+ community to add their own It Gets Better story to our work

What is the time commitment? 

This is a flexible role and the times will vary. Taking into account four self-led regional actions per year and ad-hoc centrally-led actions and activities, we recommend expecting to spend at least two hours a week on your role. We ask Regional Ambassadors to try to be available for Pride events over the summer: this means some half/full day activities over the summer period, usually on Saturdays. You’ll be able to sign up for days which suit you. Regional Ambassadors are appointed for up to two years. Regional Ambassadors will have a monthly online meeting with their It Gets Better UK point of contact.

• You will receive a full induction into It Gets Better UK and to your role 

• You will have a named contact who will support you and answer any questions 

• You will join our international and UK networks of volunteers where you can share ideas, ask questions, and support one another

Parents Journey UK

After seeing a gap in support for parents of children of “all ages, all stages” of childhood, we are developing a group to become a Registered Charity, Parents Journey UK.

Parenting is rewarding but doesn’t get easier: the challenges just change.
So why should parental support from groups and charities stop once your child has entered school, or enters their teenage years?

While many organisations focus on the earliest stages of parenthood, Parents Journey UK aims to also support parents well beyond those toddler years, whether that be coffee mornings for new parents or social evenings for parents of teenagers. We aim to provide ongoing support through a variety of face-to-face meets and online, with the support of local professionals.

To develop our idea further and start the formal process of Registering a Charity, we are looking for volunteers to become our first trustees.

If you have interest, experience or skills in any of the following, we want to talk with you; and if you don’t have much experience but enthusiasm about this idea, we really want to talk with you:

• Leading our group’s meetings and ensuring they are effective; coordinating the trustees’ group – you could be the Chair of our new charity.
• Coordinating our group’s money, keeping records of finances; ensuring the group complies with our financial rules – you could be the Treasurer of our new charity.
• Keeping accurate administrative records; communicating with other trustees; acting as the backbone of our group – you could be the Secretary of our new charity.

You don’t necessarily need to have done any of these voluntary roles before, as the tasks are easy-enough to learn, and in the early days of forming our charity, will be focused on Registration (and we have assistance with that process). At the same time, as trustees you will be primary in deciding and forming what this new charity does and how it does that. Because of the legal type of charity we are forming, you will not be held liable for the charity’s finances, but expected to take good care of those and of the charity’s activities; training and explanations of trustees’ duties will be provided.

Your skills & abilities that will help us:

• A strong commitment to Parents Journey UK idea, mission and values
• Good communication and teamwork
• Contribution to our strategic thinking and decision-making
• Some knowledge and abilities in social media and marketing would be helpful

At ReachOut, we believe that socio-emotional skills are overlooked foundational skills which improve success at school and the everyday, personal lives of children. Our aim is to transform outcomes for young people constrained by circumstance by building their socio-emotional skills. We define these skills as empathy, responsibility, problem solving, initiative, teamwork and emotion management.

We exist because not all children have the opportunity to just ‘pick up’ socio-emotional skills. Just like with maths or English, socio-emotional skills can be influenced by a wide range of formal and informal learning opportunities, which many children just don’t have access to the services and opportunities necessary to develop these skills. The 9-14 age bracket is a crucial juncture in childhood development, which is why we focus our efforts on this age range. Our approach combines positive peer support with supportive adult role models, allowing us to have the most impact. 

What do volunteer mentors do?  

• Volunteer on our after-school projects that take place for 2 hours a week over 12 weeks during term-time. Choose projects that work around your schedule, with projects at our partner schools running on different days.  

• Our sessions are led by our Youth Development Leads and involve collective mentoring activities from our curriculum and fun group games and activities that develop young people’s socio-emotional skills. The role of our volunteer mentors is to get stuck into session activities, typically supporting a small group of mentees, and helping the Youth Development Lead with facilitating activities with your fellow mentors.  

• Sessions are designed to be exciting and engaging for our young people, so by showing up weekly and bringing confidence and enthusiasm, you’ll be helping your mentees to grow in confidence, develop their skills and have fun! 

Why we want you: Local groups across the UK are run by volunteers and offer friendship and support to people living with Parkinson's and their families and friends. The friendly faces and warm welcome provided by branch volunteers mean attendees get the most from the group, with the activities on offer running smoothly.

What you will be doing: Core to group meetings, you'll help set up the venue, offering a warm welcome to all attendees; assist with fundraising events; getting involved in the activities the group offers - joining in to get the most out of these for you too.

The skills you need: Good communication skills; supportive; able to listen to the needs of people with Parkinson's, and reflect these to the group to shape the support provided; honest; you'll know when to ask for help, or when tasks might be seen as less important, and able to share that with Parkinson's UK and your group.

We support young women and girls to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience, manage their health and wellbeing, and access and engage with other support services. The support we provide is delivered through a range of activities, including 1-2-1 advocacy and a programme of group-work and workshops delivered by specially trained members of staff.

• Lived experience of domestic abuse and/or other related challenges including:
  • poor mental health or drug and alcohol use
  • financial difficulties or housing issues/homelessness o exclusion from education or experience of the care system
• Able to commit to the following:
  • In-person & online Volunteer Mentor induction training
  • 2–3 hours of mentoring per week
  • 1-2 hours of Volunteer Mentor meetings, supervision and training per month

About the Role
We are looking for Youth Mentor Volunteers to support young people in education, training, and community programmes. This is a voluntary role eligible for sponsorship under the UK Charity Worker (Temporary Work) visa scheme.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide young people through one-to-one or group sessions

• Support delivery of workshops, skills programmes, and community activities

• Act as a positive role model, promoting confidence and personal growth

• Assist with events, outreach, and recreational projects

• Provide encouragement to help young people achieve their goals

Purpose of the Role

This volunteer role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering a range of services across Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow. We support clients with mental health with both clinical and non-clinical interventions.

To enhance the Safe Space service provision as experts by experience, supporting service users and their peers on their recovery journey.

Main Responsibilities

To work closely with the HFEH Mind Safe Space team in supporting, encouraging and motivating the people that attend our services in their mental health recovery journey. Utilising their knowledge gained through lived experience and promoting recovery through visual recovery

Tasks

· Signpost Safe Space attendees to appropriate support services

· Supporting with Self Referrals to community support services

· Promote recovery by means of visible recovery

· Promote mental health and applicable community services

· Utilise listening and communication skills to support individuals attending the Safe Space Service

· Conduct follow-up calls and face-to-face appointments supporting the recovery journey

· Assist with the completion of recovery plans

· Motivate and encourage community engagement

· Support with the development and updating of borough resources and asset mapping

· Co-facilitate with psycho-educational or informational groups

· Support service users with paperwork

General Responsibilities

• Attend and conduct required training in line with company guidelines

• Attend monthly supervisions as agreed with supervisor

• Contribute ideas and feedback to improve service provision

• Abide by company policies and procedures

• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the role.

Type of person we are looking for:

Essential

· Knowledge and understanding of issues facing someone with a Mental Health illness/disability

· Knowledge and understanding of utilising mental health services

· Excellent communication skills

· Excellent listening skills

· Willingness to embrace empathy and compassion

· Ability to work with Safe Space service Users demonstrating a non-judgmental attitude and withholding bias

· Clear understanding of professional boundaries

· IT literate

· Able to support service users with form filing and making phone calls

· An understanding of the importance of professional integrity in relationships with service users, peers and other relevant professionals.

Desirable

· Knowledge and understanding of issues facing someone with a other support needs/services e.g. substance misuse, domestic abuse, debt, homelessness

· Knowledge of the borough and support available

· MS office proficient

· Experience/ knowledge of the Health and Social Care Sector

Time commitment and expenses:

· Minimum of 8 hours per week during (our core hours of 2PM – 10PM. )

· We request a minimum commitment of 6 months of volunteering after the completion of your induction.
