£27,391 - £30,103 p.a. (Pro Rata) - MYA Grade 5 Point 17-20

Fixed Term Funded to 31st May 2027

Youth unemployment remains a major challenge, and we're looking for a passionate Youth Hub Mentor to help young people from Black, Asian and Minoritised Communities overcome barriers and move into employment, education and training.

As part of MYA's friendly and energetic Youth Hub team, you'll build relationships in local communities, provide one-to-one mentoring, and connect young people with opportunities that can change their lives.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll:

· Deliver outreach and engagement in communities.

· Support young people to build confidence, skills and aspirations.

· Work closely with employers and partners to create opportunities.

· Provide tailored mentoring and support young people into employment.

· Help young people sustain and succeed in work.

Challenge Events and Community Fundraising Manager

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Working Pattern: Remote with attendance at meetings in Cannock/London (approx 2 per month) and attendance at events across the UK as required.

Lead the transformation of challenge events fundraising for a charity that changes children's lives daily. You'll build a national portfolio of inspiring events that generate significant income and create lasting supporter relationships.

Through grants and emergency equipment loans, we ensure children get vital equipment when they need it. Our free nurse helpline offers crucial support and information. We advocate for change and support adults with additional needs through volunteering and employment opportunities.

What you'll be doing

You'll develop and deliver a sustainable programme of challenge events and supporter-led fundraising activities. Working with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing, you'll create the strategy and drive income growth.

Strategic Development:

• Develop challenge events strategy and annual operational plans
• Set budgets, income targets and performance indicators
• Research new event opportunities and market trends
• Monitor performance and maximise income generation

Event Portfolio Management:

• Build portfolio including running, cycling, walking, trekking, overseas and virtual challenges
• Recruit, steward and retain participants through exceptional supporter journeys
• Manage relationships with external event organisers and suppliers
• Ensure safe, effective delivery meeting ROI targets

Relationship Building:

• Support corporate partners, community groups, schools and local businesses
• Deliver high-quality supporter care throughout their journey
• Collaborate across Fundraising, Marketing, Retail and Services teams
• Move supporters into long-term giving opportunities

What we're looking for

• Evidence of commitment to professional development within fundraising, events management or supporter engagement
• Experience delivering digital fundraising and supporter journeys
• Experience of mass participation events and challenge events delivery
• Track record achieving income targets and delivering fundraising growth
• Experience building relationships with supporters, volunteers and external stakeholders
• Experience planning and delivering events, managing budgets and monitoring financial performance
• Experience working with fundraising databases or CRM systems
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
• Strong event planning and project management abilities
• Ability to inspire supporters to achieve ambitious fundraising goals
• Flexible approach, including occasional evening and weekend working
• Understanding of fundraising compliance and regulation

Desirable: Experience of volunteer management

Volunteers are at the heart of our work. Each year, they support over 70,000 young people to build confidence, develop skills and explore their futures through insight talks, workshops and events. 

We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to grow and support our network across Wales. This is a new role, created as we invest in strengthening how we recruit, prepare and engage our volunteers, with the opportunity to shape how this work develops. 

In this role, you’ll build relationships with employers, public sector organisations and community groups to recruit volunteers from a wide range of industries. You’ll manage onboarding, support volunteers to feel confident and well-prepared to work with young people, and work closely with our Volunteer Manager and Programme Team to match volunteers to opportunities across Wales. 

You’ll play a key part in ensuring volunteers have a positive, high-quality experience – providing ongoing support, responding to feedback, and helping us continuously improve how we engage and retain our network. Alongside this, you’ll track activity, maintain accurate records, and contribute to understanding our reach and impact. 

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and great with people, confident building relationships, managing multiple priorities and communicating clearly. You’ll bring experience of working with volunteers, or in a coordination or partnership-focused role, and have a genuine motivation to support young people to achieve their potential. And, we'd love someone who is confident communicating in the medium of Welsh.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is comfortable working across a wide geography, and is motivated by creating opportunities and delivering impact.
