Help children as Trustee of an innovative, enterprising Tees Valley Charity that is increasingly supporting children in care through fostering and a planned residential provision. Join an agency that transforms children's lives.

What will you be doing?

You will join us at an exciting time as we pursue growth of fostering and residential services, as well as growth of our early help offer. 

You will work across the Charity and the subsidiary fostering company (which we will amalgamate back into the parent Charity). 

You will have a particular focus on helping the fostering agency drive growth, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver excellent care for children and support for foster parents. You will provide support and challenge to the management team.

You’ll contribute 2 to 6 hours a month. The Charity board meets every 8 weeks (shifting to quarterly after September) and the fostering board meets every 8 weeks. 

You’ll join a Charity that’s brought £millions of investment into Tees Valley and that helps over 1000 local people a year. We’ve been runners up at the national Charity Governance Awards and ‘community’ winners at the Hartlepool Business Awards. 

We are looking for experienced professionals who share our values and want to help.

Fostering or children's residential care or childrens social work management

We want to help children and family members heal from trauma, primarily through helping them develop a network of nurturing, loving and appropriately challenging relationships with people in their close and wider communities. Any small surplus we make from helping children in care will be diverted into work to help families stay together and thrive. You will join a team that strives to make this difference. You will help ensure the Charity keeps a strong focus on children and young peoples needs whilst being sustainability and ensuring the agency manages the risks associated with growth and investment in new services.

Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. Our growing team of volunteers all contribute to the ongoing work with a level of time they can commit to across different departments. Our services primarily offer a peer-support network to young people allowing them to access a peer mentor of a similar age and somebody they feel comfortable speaking with. 

If successful, you will be joining a growing team of diverse, but likeminded individuals, collaborating to increase the reach of the Charity and improve support provisions available to young people. All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers, but that doesn't stop us keeping in touch and maintaining a strong positive culture amongst our whole team. 

About the role

As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for implementing Youth 4 Youth’s (Y4Y) social media strategy to enhance our online presence and engage our audience. This role involves creating compelling content, managing social media platforms, and analysing performance to support Y4Y’s mission and campaigns.

Responsibilities 

• Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with Y4Y’s objectives. 
• Manage Y4Y’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others. 
• Create and curate engaging content to increase brand awareness and community engagement. 
• Collaborate with the Content Creators, Graphic Designers, and Copywriters/Blogger teams to produce high-quality posts. 
• Utilise social media management tools to schedule and monitor posts. 
• Ensure content is consistent with Y4Y’s brand voice and values. 
• Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to foster a positive community. 
• Develop initiatives to grow followers and encourage active participation. 
• Stay updated on social media trends and incorporate them into Y4Y’s strategy. 
• Track and analyse social media performance using analytics tools. 
• Use data insights to optimise content and strategies.

Additionally, we welcome volunteers interested in attending and assisting with the residency’s launch in Winter 2025. This will be an international opportunity, and we may be able to provide partial or full funding for travel based on volunteer time and role.

Cornerstone Library in Churchtown, Southport : Trustee/Secretary Vacancy

The Board of the Cornerstone Library in Southport retain oversight across library functions, ranging from service provision, fundraising and community engagement to heath & safety and financial stability. The Cornerstone Library is looking to recruit a Trustee to help promote the objectives of the Charity and fill the role of Secretary to the Board.

The role of Secretary to the Board combines the responsibilities of overseeing the Charity's overall governance as a Trustee with maintaining accurate records and facilitating communication between board members, including taking minutes at monthly meetings and managing official documentation.

We would benefit from the input of a Trustee who will complement the team of existing volunteers by bringing knowledge and expertise in, for example, IT, business, health & safety, event planning, web development or a legal background.

The Historic Towns and Villages Forum (HTVF) is seeking new trustees to help the Board make the most of a transformative stage in its history. HTVF became a registered charity in 2024, and over the last year has undertaken a review of its mission, vision and strategy, with two new Executive Co-Directors.

About us: The Historic Towns and Villages Forum (HTVF) is an independent charity with a mission to promote the prosperity, sustainability and heritage of historic cities, towns and villages for the benefit of all.
