We are looking to recruit a Fundraising Volunteer for the Monmouthshire Newport and TorfaenGroup. As our Fundraising Volunteer you’ll support your Fundraising Group Coordinator to organise local fundraising activities and events throughout the year.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication and team working skills. Most importantly you’ll inspire your local community to raise funds that help make sure no one has to face MS alone.

Time Commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you

You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email. You’ll be able to apply disability, equality and inclusion practices and understand and apply our risk management system. Ideally you’ll understand the local area and organisations that provide local services.

You will be reliable and easy to contact and you need to live in or near the area the group to carry out this role.

• Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
• Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
• Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
• Following new health and safety measures to ensure the safety of everyone

DOG FOSTERER

RSPCA Oxfordshire

Many of the dogs in our care have never experienced life in a loving, family home. Can you help them avoid longer in kennels, providing a calm and caring environment whilst we find them a PAWesome forever home?

Overview of the opportunity

As a dog fosterer, you would be supporting the RSPCA in providing our dogs with the safety of your home whilst tending to their welfare needs such as feeding and grooming. In addition to this, by providing a temporary loving environment, you will play a crucial role in a dog’s wellbeing and socialisation, which will significantly improve their chances of successful rehoming.

Once everything is in place, the branch will guide you through the fostering process and ensure that you have all the necessary equipment, food, and veterinary care for your fostered dog. The RSPCA is also happy to reimburse any other pre-agreed expenses that you may incur through volunteering for us.

Whilst our dogs are in your foster care, you will:

· Provide them with care, suitable housing, and a safe environment as per our policies and guidelines.

· Feed, water, and groom them in line with our advice.

· Transport them to any veterinary appointments if required.

· Provide them with your time and patience.

· Help us spread the word about the dogs in your care so they might find their forever home quicker.

· Playing and cuddles are also a must as well as a comfy bed!

What we are looking for in a volunteer Dog Fosterer

· Volunteers aged 18 or over who have had plenty of experience caring for dogs.

· You will need a secure garden and plenty of time to spend with our dog.

· Fostering experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.

· For their wellbeing, our dogs need the whole family to be on board and supportive.

· Any existing pets or animals need to have been spayed/neutered (some medical reasons may mean they cannot be so, please let us know if this is the case).

They act as the first point of contact and they make sure all relevant information is circulated to other volunteers and members. And they play an important role in keeping our data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.

This role is an ideal opportunity for those wanting to gain an understanding about community substance misuse support services and those wishing to further their admin skills.

We are looking for individuals with administrative and organisational skills to support us with day to day administration in one of our two SHARP Community Rehabilitation Centres for individuals with alcohol or drug addictions. 

SHARP stands for Self-Help Addiction Recovery Programme  and the two sites, based in Braintree and Wickford, offer an 8-week rehabilitation programme for individuals seeking to remain abstinent from either alcohol or drugs. 

You will provide essential support to both our admin and front line workers with reception duties, transport arrangements, updating files and helping them with general filing, photocopying and practical tasks associated with the running of the programmes.

You will be provided with training and induction into your role and the opportunity to complete additional training including a Level 1 qualification in Substance Misuse Awareness

To be successful in this role you will have good communication and organisational skills, feel confident in using Microsoft Word and Excel Software and excellent communication skills.

Across the UK, our 65 local branches work with disabled people to help them live the lives they choose. Our network of skilled volunteers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment free of charge.

Our Case Officers are a vital part of our local branch activities. They use their organisational and IT skills, sometimes along with a knowledge of engineering, to make sure their branch is best able to support people.

What the role involves

This is a varied role that each branch tends to do a bit differently, but it will involve:

• Processing and allocating cases which have come to the branch

• You may have engineering experience or be a skilled craftsperson, but this is not essential

• Using our online referral portal to manage and update case notes

• Attending regular meetings of the local branch

We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, and there’s an induction that covers all the areas above. You’ll also have chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us.

As a volunteer Senior Administrator, you will play an essential role in supporting the operational activities of RollaDome All Skate. You will assist with office management, scheduling, data organisation, and helping ensure that administrative tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Provide administrative support to senior leaders and staff. 

• Manage scheduling of meetings, events, and appointments. 

• Organise and maintain office filing systems and records. 

• Handle inquiries and provide customer service to stakeholders. 

• Assist in the preparation of reports, documentation, and presentations. 

• Ensure smooth communication between departments and external partners. 

Skills & Qualifications 

• Interest in business administration and organisational processes.

Our lost and found volunteers usually spend between 2 to 3 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Our Cat Welfare Support volunteers typically volunteer for two to four hours per week. This role is flexible and can fit around your other commitments.
