Trustee for Bracknell Shopmobility
Do you want to support the running of a charity that helps disabled people in Bracknell?
Bracknell Shopmobility are the independent charity helping local people’s disability needs, from hire of mobility scooters to advice on disability aids and assistance, and also much more!
From our shop in central Bracknell we run regular social activities in our community café, hold fundraising activities, plus host regular visits from health and other advisors about a range of issues, not just focused on disabled people.
Our annual income has risen to £70k, and we have a new Treasurer joining us; we now need trustees to build our strategy for the future, so we can continue our 20+ year journey in helping Bracknell communities.
The role and what we are looking for in a new trustee
Trustees are the people who make the top-level decisions for our charity. Our Board includes people with experience in understanding the needs of disabled people’s mobility, and we’d expect new trustees to have empathy with our cause and our beneficiaries.
You don’t need prior experience of charity trusteeship, as support from others is always available. Full induction to our organisation will be provided, plus specialist support as a new trustee including access to external training.
If you can think strategically and plan longer-term, you have the primary skills needed by our trustees; you’ll also need to be able to work collectively with other Board members. Our small team of employees and volunteers are those dealing with the day-to-day running of the organisation.
We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles to governing our organisation. We are looking for people from a wide variety of backgrounds to join our charity.
The focus of a trustee role is strategic, and trustees will not be expected to get involved in the organisation’s day-to-day operations; however, contact and liaison with other trustees and employees is expected.
We ask for about six hours per month, which includes all meetings, discussions, etc. You will need access to digital communications, as much of our charity’s business is run that way.

TAHMEF
We are a HealthTech nonprofit providing stigma-free digital and community-based mental health support to Tanzanian youth.
In Tanzania, over 50% of the population is under 25, yet youth face stigma, lack of access, and a severe shortage of mental health services. Only a handful of mental health professionals serve the entire country, and young people in underserved urban and rural areas are left without affordable or accessible support. This mental health gap leads to poor education outcomes, unemployment, and worsening health inequities.
Our flagship initiative, AHADI, is Tanzania’s first integrated hybrid digital and in-person mental health facility. It combines a mobile app (Ahadi App) , SMS helpline (15061), and toll-free IVR hotline (199) with AI-driven tools and community outreach. AHADI provides discreet, affordable, and accessible support, designed with and for young people. We also run stigma-reduction campaigns, and community outreach to normalize conversations around mental health.

We are looking for a passionate volunteer to support the Tanzania Health and Medical Education Foundation (TAHMEF) in mobilizing resources to scale our flagship initiative, AHADI — Tanzania’s first hybrid digital and in-person mental health facility for youth.
Responsibilities include: -Researching and identifying potential donors, foundations, and corporate partners aligned with youth mental health and digital health. -Drafting fundraising proposals, concept notes, and partnership outreach emails. -Supporting the development of fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategies. -Assisting in building and managing a donor/partner pipeline. -Contributing innovative ideas to strengthen sustainability and long-term growth.

Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. Our growing team of volunteers all contribute, significantly, to the impact that we have as a charity on our direct beneficiaries, regardless of the department that they work in of the level of time that they are able to commit. About the role

Why do we need your help?
Food banks provide three-day emergency food parcels for people in crisis, working in partnership with organisations across the community. Drivers play a fundamental role in the running of the food bank, collecting food donations from a variety of locations such as supermarkets or churches across the local area as well as distributing the sorted donations from the warehouse to the local food bank centres. Mary's Living & Giving for Save the Children is unique - a vibrant result of the generous gifts of local individuals and companies being turned around by the skills and passions of volunteer teams, to create a destination retail experience. Selling womenswear, menswear, shoes, and bags to household goods, our shops can be found in the London villages and bring in vital funds for Save the Children.
Our Wimbledon Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.
It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

VOLUNTEER VICE-CHAIR

As a Vice-Chair you’ll support your Chair or Coordinator in making sure your local branch works as effectively as possible.
You’ll bring your leadership, communication, organisation, and motivational skills to this role.
What the role involves
This is a varied role where local need shapes what you’ll be working on, but it can include:
• Supporting the Chair/Coordinator in organising branch activities, from setting up branch meetings to planning and completing referrals
• Helping the Chair/Coordinator oversee the recruitment, induction, and ongoing support of new volunteers
• Deputising for the Chair/Coordinator when necessary
• Acting as a key contact between staff and volunteers

Job Description
SAPUK is looking for volunteers to assist with our support services, which run daily from 6am to 11pm. Volunteers will engage through our instant messaging support line, which operates via Meta and offers anonymous communication via our website. The service is managed through a free app, available for download on all smart devices.
Over the years, our dedicated team has supported countless individuals, helping them overcome feelings of distress and guiding them away from the darkness. As a volunteer, you’ll be part of a compassionate team, committed to providing life-changing support.
SAPUK offers regular training to help volunteers enhance their skills and gain invaluable experience. Volunteers will become part of a supportive, collaborative team that prioritizes mental health and the well-being of both those we serve and our volunteers.
Volunteer Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 hours per week (one shift, or split into two 3-hour shifts).
- Flexible shift options to fit your schedule, with shifts ranging from 6am to 11pm.
- We’re looking for individuals who can commit to at least one shift per week, though we’ll work to accommodate your availability.

Application Process:
- You must be based in the UK (no overseas applications accepted).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required.
- Strong proficiency in English is essential.
- Successful candidates will be contacted to complete an application and confidentiality form and provide two references (one work-related, one educational or work-related).
- Following the submission of the forms and references, we’ll arrange a call to discuss the role, then provide you with a training video.
- Volunteers will be added to our WhatsApp groups, and you’ll begin shadowing more experienced team members before taking on your own chats.
- Shadowing typically requires 9-18 hours, depending on your confidence level.
Please note: This role may be distressing at times. Our team is incredibly supportive, and volunteers are encouraged to reach out to team members whenever necessary.

Home-Start in Berkshire East is an empowering, visionary, family support service built on trusted relationships and rooted in the community. We are a local charity, also part of the national Home-Start network of 180 groups. Our Board of trustees is fully responsible for governing our independent organisation, which focuses support to parents with young children, through a range of volunteer and employee-supported services, primarily in the east of Berkshire.
With a turnover of £300k+ in 2024/25, we’re a medium-sized charity, with 14 paid staff and over 30 regular volunteers, offering over 3,000 volunteer hours to more than 300 families per year.
We are looking for a new Chair for our Board of Trustees, as we continue to grow after our recent merger, and as our current Chair reaches the end of her Term of Office. You’ll have a leadership background and an understanding of (charity or corporate) governance. It is vital that you are able to lead cooperatively and work with other Trustees, the CEO, our employee and volunteer team, to shape our vision and strategy. Whilst we’d appreciate some experience within the charity sector, as either a trustee, volunteer or employee, that is not absolutely vital – we don’t want to preclude appropriate experience from other sectors that clearly fits our current and future needs.
This is a high-profile appointment, with strong commitment to the future of families and children, and an appreciation of Home-Start’s work both important.
We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles to governing our organisation. We are looking for fresh expertise and experience, wanting to expand the diversity of our board, in all meanings of the word, and strongly welcome applications from people from less-represented groups.
The focus of a trustee is strategic, and our Chair will not be expected to get involved in the organisation’s operations on a day-to-day basis; however, regular contact and liaison with other trustees and our CEO is expected.
We ask for at least eight hours per month, rising up to sixteen hours per month at times of year-end and the AGM, plus other occasional promotional & celebratory events. You will need good access to digital communications, as much of our charity’s business is run that way.
