Events Manager

We’re looking for a confident and creative Events Manager to bring fresh energy and insight to our events programme. You’ll be joining a values-led organisation at a pivotal time, helping us connect with members, partners, and the public through meaningful experiences that reflect our commitment to professional excellence, inclusion, and mental health advocacy.

Position: Events Manager
Location: Hybrid – Remote working with monthly presence at York House, London
Salary: £41,231 per annum (full time equivalent)
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (part-time considered, minimum 21 hours)
Contract: Permanent

About the role

As the Events Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the events programme – from our flagship annual conference to member webinars, roundtables and stakeholder events.

This is a hands-on role with strategic impact. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, members, and partners to ensure every event reflects our values, raises our profile, and supports our mission to advance psychotherapy and protect the public.

You’ll oversee the full event lifecycle – from concept and design through to logistics, budget management, and evaluation – ensuring that all our events are inclusive, engaging and professionally delivered across in-person, online, and hybrid formats.

About you

You’re an experienced events professional with at least two years’ experience managing diverse events from end to end. You bring creativity, attention to detail, and strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing collaboratively to a small, friendly team.

You’ll be confident liaising with members, speakers and suppliers, balancing multiple priorities, and ensuring every event runs smoothly and achieves its objectives. You are motivated by the mission and share our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. Experience in a membership, charity, or professional standards environment would be an advantage.

We undertake advice & support, research, movement building, communications and resourcing work to support, mobilise and advocate for the development of models of managing land that create shared social, economic and environmental benefits. We see systems change as a core value of our work and seek to be transformative, both through externally-facing projects and internal approaches and ways of working.

Our research work supports collective learning related to working on and with the land. We communicate our findings through articles, blogs, podcasts, reports, events, and more - building a shared evidence base to support the development of a just land system. Through our research, we seek to make an impact at a local and a systemic level. We want to create conditions that allow people and communities to thrive, and promote care for the land and environment. We do this work on both a commercial and grant funded basis.

The role holder will lead the full range of Shared Assets’ research projects, from scoping and design through to delivery, follow up and evaluation. They will need to have experience of designing and carrying out research and learning activities with a wide range of partners - including academics, community groups, NGOS and local authorities - in collaborative ways. In the past we have worked on research projects of many scales - from large European Union funded consortia, to smaller, one-off pieces which help a local authority or community organisation move forward with their work. Often our research work involves collaborating with a group of other civil society organisations to provide evidence of why change in the land, food and farming system is needed, and generate action on these issues. 

The main areas of work are to: manage and deliver funded research projects (or projects with a research component) with partners, reflect with colleagues on what we are learning within and across workstreams as an organisation and sector, use this knowledge to create new ideas for research work, and support fundraising for these, as part of our ‘infrastructure’ role.

• Lead the planning and delivery of the World Physiotherapy Congress scientific programme.

• Manage complex abstract and review systems, coordinate committees, and support speakers throughout.

• Oversee event technologies (e.g. apps, ePosters, registration) and collaborate with AV and logistics partners.

• Work closely with the Head of Events and a global network of professionals to deliver an exceptional delegate experience.

• Contribute to creative ideas, innovations, and continuous improvements across the congress lifecycle.

You’re an organised problem-solver with excellent communication skills, comfortable managing digital platforms and juggling multiple timelines.
