A growing number of companies and financial institutions are seeking to mitigate their impacts on nature. But many have made commitments that are not being met, and others are failing to take any action at all. Through our Corporate Performance work and Forest 500 project, we assess the policies and performance of influential companies and financial institutions. Our newly launched Deforestation Action Tracker monitors financial institutions with significant climate commitments to track their action on deforestation and associated human rights abuses.
This newly created role will be part of our Corporate Performance team and will lead on the next phase of a groundbreaking project.This role sits under the Forest IQ team, along with two researchers and the Forest IQ Lead. This role will support the operational smooth running of the team, with a particular focus contracting and onboarding Forest IQ’s users.
Forest IQ provides major data-service providers and financial institutions with market-leading data about corporate performance on deforestation, conversion of natural ecosystems and associated human rights abuses. This will enable financial institutions to identify risks and opportunities to help them to deliver deforestation free portfolios by 2025.

Purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to manage and deliver an effective email CRM programme for ZSL and its Zoos (London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo) across the broad range of audience groups (zoo visitors, donors, members, experience bookers, etc.). The aim is to continuously grow customer acquisition, engagement, value and loyalty as part of an overarching Supporter Journey that has the customer experience at its heart.
Your key responsibilities:
- Design and build on-brand email marketing campaigns from end to end. Including copywriting, building emails on Dotdigital, sending campaigns and manage A/B and MVP testing strategy to ensure continuous optimisation of email campaigns.
- Own the overall email campaign plan and delivery, working with audience owners across ZSL to manage email communications, providing guidance and best practice.
- Analyse and segment customer data and maximise this data to deliver effective targeted activity, managing the quality and frequency of messaging. Use this insight to identify opportunities for up-selling or cross-selling programmes.
- Develop and deliver customer data acquisition strategies and ensure all activity is GDPR compliant.
- Work with the Membership Marketing Manager to fully develop, deliver and manage an effective CRM programme for ZSL to build (automated) supporter journeys along the customer lifecycle, driving loyalty and growing the value of each customer and ROI from CRM activity.
- Work with the Digital Marketing Executive to track and analyse campaign results (engagement, conversion rates, web analytics, ROI) to produce regular reports on campaign performance, and continuously implement improvements based on findings.
- Develop strong working relationships with our Ticketing and Systems teams to understand and use Tessitura, our membership and donations CRM platform as well as ticketing and experiences data from SEE Tickets.
- Manage ZSL’s email service platform (currently Dotdigital) including being responsible for managing and maintaining the data within it to ensure that all customer data and communication is GDPR complaint, management of the ESP budget and management of the relationship with the ESP supplier.
ABOUT YOU
Your experience:
- Email CRM programme management expertise
- Consumer marketing communications experience and management of a customer database essential
- Experience with Dotdigital highly desirable
- Working knowledge of HTML desirable
- Experience with CRM platform Tessitura desirable
Your skills and knowledge:
- Strong project management skills and ability to co-ordinate multiple projects and stakeholders and manage competing priorities
- Excellent working knowledge of email service provider platforms, including knowledge of establishing automated programmes
- Experience in content development, including copywriting
- Experience in manipulating customer data with a high attention to detail
- Proven knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong commercial focus
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
This post can operate on an agile/blended working model. We’re currently meeting as a team at the office (Regent’s Park) once per week, working from home for the rest of the week. Occasional travel to Whipsnade Zoo will also be required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, talented and ambitious individual to join our growing Development team. This role is an opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the environment looking for a next step in their fundraising career. The role will be responsible for supporting other team members with large grants as well as managing and growing their own portfolio of trust and foundations capable of giving at five and six-figures.
The role will support donor management including donor reporting and stewardship and will help coordinate fundraising events. This is a truly varied role with an opportunity to get involved in all aspects of fundraising.
The successful candidate will report to the Development & Partnerships Lead, and will also work with and support the other members of the Development team to deliver our fundraising and development priorities across all funding streams, including our Trusts & Foundations, Major Donors and Institutional/Government funding.

An opportunity has arisen to join the central Wildlife Trade team to ensure that good practice and innovation in wildlife trade approaches are effectively integrated and implemented into projects. This is a role based in our UK Headquarters providing technical input and support to our regional programmes, with an initial focus on supporting our projects in the Caribbean and Nicaragua. These projects involve working with local partners to implement interventions based on crime prevention and behaviour change techniques and to build law enforcement capacity.
A team player also able to work on your own initiative, you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise across teams and cultures. You will enjoy applying your critical thinking to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language. In addition to essential fluency in written and spoken English, skills in relevant languages, particularly Spanish, are also desirable.
You will have excellent facilitation, training and coaching skills, ideally with experience in developing and applying blended learning materials and methods. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines will be a key attribute. You will be passionate about supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills while being open to learning and able to quickly pick up new skills.
You will hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification and/or professional experience on unsustainable or illegal wildlife trade issues in international conservation or related field. You will have technical skills and significant experience in the development, management, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of approaches to understand and tackle unsustainable and illegal wildlife trade in a conservation context. You will understand the need for inclusive, collaborative and evidence-based approaches to preventing illegal and unsustainable wildlife trade including, but not limited to, effective crime prevention, community-level responses to illegal wildlife trade, building enforcement capacity and demand reduction.
