Job description

Role Overview
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with a well-known health charity on a fantastic Interim Head of Content Strategy role. This position involves developing and shaping the organisation’s content ecosystem, with a focus on storytelling, to enhance brand awareness and engagement across multiple channels. This is a 3 day a week role until the end of June 2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a cohesive content strategy that aligns with the organisation’s purpose, brand identity, and storytelling goals.
  • Create content frameworks, pillars, and story blocks that enhance memorability and build the organisation’s reputation in key thematic areas.
  • Develop an audio-first content approach, including exploring innovative formats such as podcasts and pre-recorded media, to increase accessibility and reach.
  • Advise on governance structures for content creation, approval, and distribution to ensure consistency and control.
  • Manage the content ecosystem, including planning for live and digital content, and coordinate the integration of mediums such as audio and written materials.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and define organisational fame topics and content themes that elevate the organisation’s profile.
  • Oversee a team through periods of change, providing reassurance and guiding development efforts.
  • Conduct a comprehensive initial review of current content practices, followed by strategic planning for future developments from January onwards.
  • Facilitate workshops and strategic sessions, sometimes in-person, to build understanding and buy-in across the organisation.

Person Specification

  • Extensive experience in content strategy and ecosystem development.
  • Experience working within the charity or health sector.
  • Ability to lead organisational change and manage teams through transformation processes.
  • Strong knowledge of content governance, control, and workflow structures.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing content across multiple channels, with a focus on storytelling that enhances brand recognition.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing practical implementation details.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a complex, evolving environment.
  • Proven capability to deliver workshops, training, and strategic deep-dives.

What’s on Offer
Salary: £70,000 pro rata, 3 days a week until end of June 2027. This role can be remote, with occasional travel for workshops and meetings.
