Job description

The Information Commissioner’s Office is looking for an outstanding strategic communicator with a passion for information rights to lead and inspire our communications department.

You will be responsible for a busy and dynamic multi-disciplinary communications service, leading management and delivery of the communications strategy which supports the ICO’s ambitions and objectives.

This is high profile, often demanding, and rewarding role, working to the ICO’s Director of Communications. You will oversee the development delivery of communications strategies and campaigns, and responsible for making sure that our communications make a difference.

You will have significant experience of working at a senior level in a strategic communications role in a complex organisation, experience of managing creative and innovative teams, the ability to react quickly, with good judgement as well as proactively to protect and enhance the reputation of the ICO.

The role involves close engagement with the Information Commissioner and other senior staff, as well as a number of different teams and external stakeholders.
