Job description

Role purpose

Sitting within our Philanthropy team, this role is responsible for supporting the team to grow our philanthropy income across trusts & foundations, major donors and our corporate partners.  

As the Philanthropy & Partnerships Assistant, you will support the day to day management of ShelterBox’s philanthropy activity, helping to ensure amazing and motivational experiences for our key donors/partners, supporting the delivery of a programme of communication touchpoints and events, and providing general administrative support to the other members of the team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive team player, able to manage a busy and varied workload and work with all members of the team.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone wishing to develop their major giving fundraising knowledge and expertise and play an important supportive part in delivering ShelterBox’s new Philanthropy and Partnerships strategy for 2021 and beyond.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Support the delivery of tailored stewardship and communication plans to ensure our high value partners and supporters feel part of ShelterBox and motivated to continue their support, including prompt thanking for donations.
  • Assisting the Prospect Researcher when required to identify and learn more about prospective new partners/donors.
  • Support the wider team in delivery of engagement events for our major givers (guest list management, ad hoc preparation etc.)
  • Support and play an active role in the management of delegated corporate partnerships to deliver against their objectives and coordinate activity.  
  • Working with our digital team, develop a schedule for LinkedIn content to engage with target audiences.
  • Handling correspondence when appropriate and communicate professionally with supporters on phone, in writing and in person.  
  • Keep the CRM database up to date for all areas of the Philanthropy team, following Data Protection rules and accurately logging communications and activity
  • Be active and in the fundraising sector, know and follow the latest fundraising legislation and codes of practice, seek out peer learning and peer mentoring opportunities, network and contribute.
  • Represent ShelterBox positively at all times and reflect our organisational values.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as may be required.
