The Role

The Finance & Operations Coordinator is a central position in a small, purpose-driven team. The role provides direct support to the Managing Director and works closely with the Finance Committee to ensure that the charity’s financial and operational systems are well managed, compliant and effective.

This is a broad and hands-on role that involves managing day-to-day UK operations, supporting financial oversight, ensuring smooth coordination with our in-country partners, and keeping our administrative framework in excellent order.

You will be responsible for maintaining clear systems, meeting key reporting deadlines, and ensuring that the organisation runs efficiently behind the scenes. The role suits someone who is proactive, reliable, and comfortable managing a wide variety of tasks with independence and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

Finance and Reporting

• Maintain accurate financial records in Xero, reconciling transactions and processing payments for invoices, payroll and expenses.

• Allocate receipts and donations to the correct funds and ensure supporting documentation is filed systematically.

• Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims to HMRC.

• Collate quarterly financial and narrative reports from Moroccan partner NGOs and follow up on missing information.

• Support the Managing Director and Finance Committee with budget preparation, analysis and audit documentation.

• Ensure that annual accounts and financial reports are submitted in line with Charity Commission requirements.

Operations and Administration

• Oversee and improve shared filing systems (Teams/SharePoint), ensuring that all administrative and financial records are accurate, up to date and easy to access.

• Manage the main email inbox, responding to or redirecting correspondence promptly and professionally.

• Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and annual project visits in Morocco.

• Support the Managing Director with scheduling, documentation, and general administrative follow-up.

• Monitor compliance tasks, ensuring that all Charity Commission and internal governance requirements are up to date and properly documented.

Donor and Partner Relations

• Act as a first point of contact for donors, supporter schools, hotels and individuals.

• Process and acknowledge donations, issue receipts and maintain accurate donor records.

• Proactively follow up with existing and potential supporters, helping to build and maintain relationships.

• Liaise with Moroccan partners to ensure that project and financial reporting are on track and shared on time.

Governance and Oversight

• Support the Finance Committee and Managing Director with preparation for trustee and committee meetings, including gathering reports and ensuring actions are followed up.

• Assist with external audits and reviews, coordinating with UK auditors and Moroccan partners as needed.

• Maintain oversight of risk management, safeguarding and health and safety documentation, ensuring relevant information is filed and accessible.

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience with Xero or similar accounting software, and confidence handling day-to-day bookkeeping.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and comfortable using Teams/SharePoint.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Able to work independently and take initiative, with good judgement about when to seek input.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

The Humane League is seeking a self-motivated, organized, collaborative individual with the drive to create progressive change for millions of farmed animals as part of our Global Corporate Engagement team. As Temporary Global Corporate Engagement Coordinator, you will support global corporate engagement work by recording and maintaining data on cage-free and broiler chicken welfare policies and providing crucial administrative support to the team. You will manage our research databases and conduct research on food companies, finding corporate policies, company contacts, and other information to inform global campaigns and corporate relations work. You will also work closely with members of the Open Wing Alliance (OWA), our global coalition of animal protection groups, to share data and progress, and you’ll coordinate with member organizations and/or third parties to translate global commitments into key languages. 

You are passionate about The Humane League’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food and are keen to use data to support this work. While working autonomously is an important part of this role, the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders will also be paramount to your success. You are able to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment, and you bring the organizational skills needed to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently. This position reports to the Director of Global Corporate Engagement.

This is a temporary, full-time, remote position, beginning in late February and ending in late August. The duration may be extended or shortened at The Humane League’s discretion. The temporary hire will provide coverage while a permanent staff member is on maternity leave, with overlap for training and onboarding. This position provides the opportunity for optional domestic and international travel, equivalent to 1 or more trips per year.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Update and maintain THL’s global commitment tracking database by transferring,  fact-checking, and proofreading data submitted by other animal welfare organizations. Keep policy information, corporate contacts, translations, and other details up to date in the database and other tracking documents so that progress and statistics can be shared internally and externally.
• Maintain our database of country-level cage-free information to inform global corporate relations work. Track relevant information on countries’ cage-free status, major commitments, legislation, and more. 
• Work with the OWA to collect key language translations of global cage-free and broiler chicken commitments so that groups around the world can leverage commitments in their respective regions.
• Assist with setting the Global Corporate Engagement team’s strategy, bringing a data lens to inform strategic decisions. 
• Independently perform research on food companies to support global campaigns and corporate negotiations, finding details such as executive contact information, existing animal welfare policies, corporate brand portfolios, worldwide locations, and more. 
• Refine the team’s list of hundreds of global companies in order to identify the top companies to prioritize. Annually update data on the top global companies, tracking their revenue, number of locations, countries of operation, welfare commitments, and more.
• Carry out administrative duties for team meetings including scheduling, agenda creation, note-taking, and facilitation. 
• Create presentations for OWA corporate engagement webinars. Co-lead presentations and provide tech support as needed.

OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure as many wins for animals as possible, specializing in institutional campaigning that can be tailored to our members’ unique circumstances and challenges.

As Temporary Global Campaigns Coordinator, you will be part of a team responsible for researching, coordinating, and launching hard-hitting global corporate animal welfare campaigns against major multinational companies. These campaigns involve collaboration and coordination with animal protection organizations around the world and directly contribute to The Humane League’s org-wide goal of ending the abuse of animals raised for food by securing global cage-free policies that significantly improve the lives of millions of egg-laying hens. 

As a campaigner, you’ll have the opportunity to develop knowledge of our targets, our primary campaign strategies, and the tools we will use to win. About the role

Reporting in to the Director of Finance and Corporate Governance, the Head of Technology & Data will champion the development, implementation, and use of information technology and data throughout Christian Aid, creating a culture of innovation and empowering IT users.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Head of Technology & Data include:

• Responsible for building, supervising and maintaining a highly available and secure enterprise infrastructure including 24x7 cloud servers, mobility and remote access services and Azure Active Directory.
• Develop a road map for the strategic development of technology and data functions which incorporates system upgrades, installations, and conversions to ensure smooth transitions and optimised functionality for all users.
• Manage ITIL compliant processes including change management and service transition striving for innovation, reliability, and alignment with organisational goals.
• Collaborate proactively to develop strategies that enhance client services, amplify user efficiency, and inspire creative solutions to emerging challenges.
• Inspire and empower ICT staff by hiring, training, mentoring, and appraising team members, cultivating a culture of continuous development and excellence.
• Oversee network administration and network engineering (VPN, VOIP, Wan or relevant emerging technology) in key sites.
• Foster adaptability within ICT staff to align with evolving user needs, emerging technologies, and varied team dynamics.
• Maintain accurate documentation of systems, policies, and processes, ensuring clarity and accessibility for users and team members.
• Deliver user support through responsive helpdesk services and technical solutions tailored to client needs.

About you

Who we are looking for:

Essential:

• Degree level or equivalent with an MCSE.
• Extensive experience of the management of ICT services, including strategy development.
• Extensive experience of Project Management.
• Advanced communications and problem solving skills.
• Highly detailed knowledge of a broad range of information and communications technologies including server, desktop and network hardware and operating systems, application development, information security, internet technologies, support services, systems management tools.
• Advanced leadership and team management skills.
• Substantial supplier management experience.
• Highly developed appreciation of the interaction and impact of business and ICT strategies and operations.

Desirable:

• ITIL Foundation, Practitioner.
• Knowledge and experience of satellite communications.

What we're looking for

This newly created Campaigns Manager role will be responsible for end-to-end campaign management across digital platforms including Advocate, our programmatic ad platform, and various social media channels. This includes strategy development, planning, coordination, execution, and optimization. Reporting to the Ad Ops Director in Canada, you'll work closely with the Accounts, Performance & Insights, and Product teams across Europe and the US to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and on target.

Responsibilities

• Lead on developing digital strategies and media plans, identifying appropriate platforms and formats to maximise impact for our global, progressive client base. 
• Manage Campaign Associates to ensure all digital campaigns are delivered successfully, including tracking KPIs, analyzing performance data, and implementing optimizations to improve results.
• Periodically attend (remote) meetings with clients to present campaign results. 
• Add hands-on-keyboard capacity to build and manage campaigns where needed.
• Continually innovate how we run campaigns, to find better ways to bring impact to our clients.
• Be the people manager and coach of at least one Campaigns Associate. 

Required Expertise

Must Have

• Experience with planning, building and managing successful paid digital campaigns on social media and programmatic channels for progressive political groups. 
• Experience working on multiple progressive campaigns, including at least one cycle of US political campaigns with Democrats or progressive groups. 
• Proven ability to learn new ad tech platforms quickly.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, or performance issues before they escalate.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-continent environment. 

Nice to Have

• Experience managing / mentoring junior team members.
• Hands-on experience with search, social, and programmatic buying platforms such as: The Trade Desk, Google Search, DV360, LinkedIn, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, X and YouTube along with Google Campaign Manager for ad serving.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant ad tech and industry best practices.
