The successful candidate will have at least two years’ project management experience and direct experience supporting refugees and asylum seekers, with strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to speak a community language is desirable.

About the project  

The Housing Advice Practitioner will by providing tailored advice and guidance through mainly remote online or phone support, as well as in person housing advice at a weekly housing advice surgery in the community. The role will include advocacy, coordination with legal services, workshops, and ensuring sustained support for families. 

This new Information and Advice Support Service is established to a) provide a light touch swift response service for less complex housing issues; and b) develop mechanisms for the early identification of emerging housing problems.

About the role  

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate support worker to deliver housing advice and practical support to individuals and families. This role involves responding to enquiries, conducting housing surgeries, and running workshops to empower clients with the knowledge and skills to address their housing-related issues. The successful candidate will work with clients to identify their needs and offer tailored solutions to help them achieve sustainable housing outcomes. In this role, you will be working in partnership with community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to address their housing issues. The objective of the programme is to provide advice and support to clients who have problems related to their housing and to improve wellbeing and awareness of tenancy rights and housing polices.

Working with the Sanctuary Manager and a team of volunteers, you will ensure this support is upheld to a high standard. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks to facilitate this, including recruitment and training of volunteers. Maintaining clear communication with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will ensure project coherence and impact, and promote awareness of the project and its impact within the community.

The Referral, Assessment and Operational Development Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Managing Director with new business development, coordinating and managing referrals, assessments, tenancies and transitions for our customers with learning disabilities and autism.

Referral & Assessment Coordination
* Monitor and respond to referrals from external sources and direct contacts.
* Maintain a current tracking system for referral clarity and produce regular reports.
* Analyse referral data to identify local commissioning needs and growth opportunities.
* Work with managers on person-centered assessments covering care needs, environmental suitability, risk management, and transition planning.
* Complete and submit needs assessments with costings and support package requirements.

Sophie Hayes Foundation (SHF) is a small but mighty charity, empowering women survivors of 
modern slavery and exploitation. It is an important time at SHF. Our new strategy ‘Sustainable 
Freedom from Modern Slavery’ launched in 2024 and this role is essential for the delivery of the 
strategy and ensuring that survivors of modern slavery, human trafficking, and exploitation have
access to the support and opportunities they need to achieve their aspirations, independence 
and a positive future. With soaring numbers of referral to the NRM and thousands more victims 
living in fear of a hostile environment, this has never been more important than now. 

At the heart of Sophie Hayes Foundation’s work will be the support to and empowerment of 
survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking and this role is critical to survivors’ journeys 
to sustainable freedom. 

Alongside a small, friendly and dedicated team, you will coordinate and deliver our 
programmes for survivors of modern slavery, including our flagship Employability Programme 
(EP) and our Conversational English for Independence (CEFI) course. 

You will also work in close partnership of the development and delivery of new programmes for 
survivors, embodying our strategic aim of ‘meeting survivors where they are and taking them to 
where they want to be’. You will champion the voices of survivors through the work of the 
organisation, working with colleagues in CREW to provide continued support to survivors’ long

About the Role

• Deliver Sophie Hayes Foundations Employability Programme and Conversational English for Independence Course to survivors.
• Support development and growth of these and other future programmes.
• Take responsibility for all programme logistics and communications with partners, survivors, and suppliers. 
• Accurate data input to and management of internal monitoring and finance systems, working closely with the Head of Programmes to analyse trends and contribute to reporting. 
• Actively engage with local, regional, and national partners and anti-slavery networks

Our Community and Events team support a busy programme of third-party events including; Great North Run, London Landmarks Half and marathons in Edinburgh, London and Paris to name a few. We’re recruiting for a passionate Events Fundraiser to join the team.​

This is an important role generating long-term, sustainable income to support our life saving mission. You’ll develop strong relationships with our passionate supporters, building a sense of community and helping them achieve their fundraising potential.

£29,000 - £31,000 per annum plus benefits

Full time (35hrs per week)

What you’ll do 

Manage supporters’ participation in a series of third-party events across the UK and Europe

Maximise participation numbers and fundraising potential

Represent Samaritans at third-party events

Evaluate the effectiveness of events and make recommendations for improvements

Communicate with event participants through a range of digital channels

Support event participants in their fundraising journey

Collaborate with volunteers and branches to support events

Maintain accurate supporter records, manage fundraising platforms and update event pages​

Community Fundraiser - London​

Are you ready to take on a new challenge with a leading charity making a real difference in brain tumour research? ​

Brain Tumour Research is seeking an experienced and motivated fundraiser to join our team. As a key part of our fundraising efforts in our high-performing East region, you will have the opportunity to drive income generation through a variety of initiatives, including challenge events, fundraising groups, and corporate partnerships such as charity of the year. You will also be responsible for driving initiatives to increase our profile and supporter base within London.​

Key Responsibilities: ​​​

• Generate income across a range of community fundraising initiatives and events, with the opportunity to lead on key projects 
• Steward supporters to help drive the charity’s fundraising activities and growth 
• ​Work with the fundraising team to develop and maintain strong relationships with fundraisers, donors, partners, and key stakeholders ​
• Contribute towards the growth and success of fundraising efforts, ensuring a sustainable income stream for the vital ongoing funding of brain tumour research ​​

Requirements: ​​

• At least one year of fundraising experience, with a proven track record in income generation 
• Strong experience in supporter stewardship  
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire supporters and partners alike ​
• Passion for Brain Tumour Research and its mission to fund research and ultimately find a cure

• Build data pipelines and transform data for actionable insights using analytical techniques
