Job description

Digital Analyst

Are you a digital analyst who enjoys getting into the data, understanding what people do online and turning that insight into action?

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is looking for a Digital Analyst to help us better understand our supporters and improve the performance of our digital campaigns and experiences.

Working across Fundraising and closely with colleagues in Marketing and Technology, you'll bring together data from across our digital channels to understand what's working, what's not and where we can make things better. From campaign performance and supporter journeys your insight will help teams make confident, evidence-led decisions.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is technically curious but also enjoys working with people. This is the ideal role for someone who can dig into GA4, GTM and data one moment and translate what they've found into a clear recommendations.

Salary

The salary for this role is £42,770 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse performance across digital campaigns, websites and supporter journeys, turning data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Fundraising teams throughout the campaign lifecycle, helping teams understand performance and identify opportunities to optimise activity.
  • Maintain and improve our GA4 and Google Tag Manager implementation, ensuring tracking and measurement are accurate and useful.
  • Build dashboards and reporting that make digital performance easy for colleagues to understand and use.
  • Analyse supporter behaviour to identify opportunities to improve conversion, engagement, retention and the overall digital experience.
  • Plan and evaluate A/B and multivariate tests, helping us develop a curious, evidence-led approach to improving digital performance.
  • Work with developers, agencies and Technology colleagues to implement and maintain digital tracking across our digital estate.
  • Collaborate with other analysts to connect digital insight with our wider understanding of fundraising and supporter behaviour.
  • Help ensure digital data is collected responsibly and transparently, including supporting GDPR and cookie consent requirements.
  • Keep curious about developments in digital analytics, measurement and technology, bringing useful ideas and improvements back into the organisation.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, including implementing and maintaining digital measurement and tracking.
  • Experience using SQL to interrogate and analyse data.
  • Experience working with JavaScript and HTML within Google Tag Manager to implement tracking solutions.
  • Strong digital analytics skills, with experience analysing website, campaign or customer/supporter behaviour and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Understanding of digital marketing channels such as paid media, email, social and organic search, and how analytics can help improve their performance.
  • Experience creating dashboards, visualisations and performance reporting that help others make decisions.
  • Experience supporting experimentation and optimisation through A/B testing or other testing approaches.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to make complex data understandable and relevant to different audiences.
  • A collaborative approach and confidence working across multidisciplinary teams including Marketing, Digital, Fundraising and Technology.
  • Strong attention to detail and a curious, analytical mindset—you enjoy asking why something happened, not just reporting that it did.

This is an opportunity to use your technical expertise to make data genuinely useful—helping teams understand our supporters, test new ideas and create better digital experiences that inspire people to engage with and support our work.

DBS - note a Basic DBS check is required for this role.
