A bit about this role:

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you!

What can you expect to be doing?

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

• face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.
• online fundraising – assisting with online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised.
• bringing new ideas! We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.
• engaging with your local branch and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team.

Support, guidance and keeping you safe

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

The well being of our people is important and at Cats Protection we are committed to safeguarding children, adults at risk and all those that we encounter as part of our activities.

The Safeguarding Helpline Volunteer will support our award-winning Safeguarding Helpline Team, helping us to offer a high-quality service to people in need of advice and support.

Our helpline takes over 8000 calls a year, with call volume increasing 25% each year. 75% of our calls are from people in crisis and 20% involve children at risk of harm. To help us maintain an efficient service, we need volunteers to help administer our calls, you would not be expected to give expert advice. This role is instrumental in helping us to work in a more efficient way and ensuring an excellent service is given to our customers.

Specific Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls as a first point of contact.
• Open a referral and complete basic details about the caller, passing call to an appropriate team member.
• Open emails and transfer information to a referral, before passing on to an appropriate team member.
• Answering basic questions when taking a call.
• Assisting safeguarding team with general administration.

We’re looking for new Trustees for the Board of Spear Bournemouth Trust, which runs the Spear Programme in partnership with Resurgo Trust, equipping and empowering unemployed 16 – 24-year-olds to overcome barriers to employment and turn their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

Responsibilities

Governance and meeting attendance

• Attend Trustee meetings (approx. 6-9 times a year)
• Responsibility for the governance of the Trust, including meeting any legal and Charity Commission requirements
• Ensure the Trust complies with all legal duties including annual reporting, audits, insurance and data management

Local relationship building

• Build relationships with individuals in local churches to build and develop a network of supporters for the Spear Programme
• Act as a spokesperson for Spear Bournemouth, building the charity’s profile locally

Income generation

• Develop and manage relationships with local donors or companies (working with Spear coaches and other trustees)
• Steward relationships with funders, keeping them engaged in the work of Spear Bournemouth
• Input into a fundraising strategy (with significant input and support from the Resurgo team) to fundraise ~£120,000 per year to cover the costs of the Spear Programme

Working together

• Develop strong working relationships with fellow Trustees
• Support the Spear coaches in line with Resurgo’s coaching approach, ensuring the centre continues to thrive and deliver outstanding impact

Active participation in and support for church team and mission

• As the Spear programme is run in partnership with local churches, the Trustees will ideally have a personal presence in a Bournemouth-based church and actively work with and support the mission of Love Church, a key partner. As part of this you may be asked to speak at church/events

Role Description - Peer Support Group Leader (Voluntary) 

Lead safe, welcoming peer-support groups for neurodivergent adults (with a focus on ADHD), building community, confidence and fair access to help.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate group sessions that are calm, inclusive and boundaried.

• Welcome participants, set/hold group agreements, and manage dynamics sensitively.

• Identify risk, de-escalate where needed, and follow safeguarding procedures.

• Signpost to local services and resources; encourage peer-to-peer support.

• Keep brief attendance/impact notes and handle data in line with GDPR.

• Liaise on venues, accessibility and materials; ensure spaces are neuro-affirming.

• Attend training, supervision and debriefs; contribute to service improvement.

Person specification

• Compassionate, non-judgemental listener with strong facilitation skills.

• Confident setting boundaries and managing difficult conversations.

• Organised, reliable, and comfortable with basic admin/digital tools.

• Knowledge of (or willingness to learn about) ADHD/neurodiversity and local support.

Our Challenge 

Brain tumours do not discriminate, and they do not respect boundaries. They can strike anyone, at any age. And they strike quickly. Our Support and Information team offer a wide range of inclusive and accessible peer support services, for anyone affected by a brain tumour. One of our most popular services is our Online Support Groups which offer peer to peer support on Facebook, HealthUnlocked and Instagram. We are looking for volunteers who can manage requests to join our Facebook Support Groups and respond to posts with supportive comments and signposting.

How can you help?

We are looking for volunteers who can manage requests to join our Facebook Support Groups and respond to posts with supportive comments and signposting. This role will continue to facilitate the warm, welcoming and inclusive nature of the support groups by ensuring members are welcomed to the group and posts across our online support groups are responded to by The Charity, where appropriate.

You can get involved in the following:

• Managing Facebook requests
• Creating and maintaining accurate information on our CRM database
• Welcoming new members to the groups and letting them know where they can access support
• Offering peer support by responding to posts Flagging any posts or comments with the group admin if you have any worries or concerns
• Support with additional online tasks that help to deliver the Charity’s Support service

What impact will you have?

We have over 38,000 members of our online support groups and you will play a key role in providing vital support and information signposting to help those affected by a brain tumour diagnosis.

• Experience of using social media platforms, in particular Facebook
• Strong IT and computer skills, ideally experience of using databases
• A high degree of empathy and resilience and an ability to separate own experiences from others, offering support and signposting
• Organisation and reliability, with an ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

• Demonstrable understanding of confidential working

Time commitment

Practical considerations

This is remote role where you can volunteer from home. You will receive a full induction to The Brain Tumour Charity and any specific training for the role (induction training will take place week commencing 5 January 2026). You will receive ongoing direction from one of the team, who will be your key contact.

We carry out reference checks for all individuals who will be volunteering with us on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to complete some internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18. We encourage volunteers to claim for any reasonable expenses that are incurred in the course of their volunteering with the Charity. If we receive a high volume of applications, we may close the role early, so we’d encourage you to apply at your earliest opportunity

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, fast learning North Fundraising Intern to join our growing team at Human Appeal; helping us with admin tasks, recruitment of volunteers for events and online fundraising campaigns, research for various upcoming events and help with general tasks.

Main tasks include:

• § Administrative tasks such as collating data, contacting signups for various challenges, deployments and events.
• § Assist with administrational tasks relating to fundraising
• § Research venues, catering and other fundraising related tasks for upcoming events
• § May be asked to go to occasional events dependent on location

About YAUK

Youth Advantage UK is a charitable organization that uses a research-led approach to inform policy work and projects that aim to promote and further the human rights of young people aged 11 to 25 across the United Kingdom.

Please note that this is a remote VOLUNTEER role.

We won't accept applications from individuals residing outside of the UK as we operate on the principle of bettering the lives of young people in the UK. Therefore, we require our volunteers to have an understanding of what it is like to live in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the CEO on matters of urgency and importance to the organization.
• Manage the agenda for meetings the CEO holds ensuring all actions are allocated for actioning
• Sign post management across the organisation as required
• Handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Organizing and coordinating meetings, appointments, and events to ensure efficient time management for the CEO
• Handling Communications: Acting as the first point of contact for the CEO, managing correspondence.
• Preparing reports, presentations, and other documents needed for meetings and decision-making.
• Assisting with various administrative tasks such as record-keeping and office management.
• Coordinating specific tasks as assigned by the CEO
• Acting as a bridge between the CEO and other senior management, ensuring smooth communication
