Data and insight sit at the heart of our ambitious organisational strategy. As Data and Insight Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our data is accurate, trusted and used effectively to inform decision-making and improve supporter engagement across the organisation.
Sitting within the Supporter Marketing & Experience team, you’ll work closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Digital, Marketing, Finance, IT and Supporter Care. You’ll lead on insight and segmentation, streamline processes through automation, and ensure robust compliance with data protection regulations.

Role description:
parkrun is looking for a Data Protection Officer to ensure that parkrun processes personal data in a lawful, transparent and secure manner and maintains compliance with applicable data protection laws across the global parkrun movement.
Reporting to the Global Head of Legal and Governance, this role will be responsible for establishing, monitoring and maintaining effective and compliant data protection processes and promoting good practices across the parkrun global movement. The role will sit within a small Legal and Governance team and provide day-to-day assistance and practical, solution-focused advice across the organisation.
The Data Protection Officer will act independently in carrying out their statutory responsibilities under applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR, and will play a key role in embedding a strong culture of data protection and responsible data use across parkrun’s global operations.
A key focus of the role will be working collaboratively with teams across the organisation to build understanding of data protection requirements, deliver effective training and guidance, and support colleagues to take a practical and pragmatic approach to managing data protection risks in their work.

Main responsibilities:
The Data Protection Officer will support data protection and privacy compliance across the parkrun global movement, including responsibility for the following:

Acting as parkrun’s Data Protection Officer under applicable data protection legislation, advising the organisation on its legal obligations and monitoring compliance with relevant data protection laws and principles

Developing, reviewing and maintaining data protection policies, procedures and guidelines for the parkrun global movement
-
Monitoring the organisation’s compliance with data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and providing quarterly reports to the Board Governance and Risk Sub-Committee

Supporting teams in carrying out Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and embedding privacy into projects, partnerships and new initiatives
-
Developing and maintaining key compliance documentation including a Record of Processing Activities (ROPA)
-
Leading the Data Governance Group and developing/progressing the organisation’s Data Protection Action Plan
-
Advising on international data transfers and cross-border data protection considerations across the parkrun global movement

Supporting the organisation’s data incident and personal data breach response processes, including assessing notification requirements where relevant
-
Acting as a key contact point for supervisory authorities, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Officer (ICO), and supporting responses to regulatory enquiries where required

Developing and delivering data protection training and guidance to teams across the global organisation

Supporting the Global Head of Legal and Governance in driving the development and continuous improvement of the Legal and Governance function at parkrun
Essential experience requirements:

Significant professional experience in data protection, privacy compliance or information governance roles (typically at least 5 years’ experience)

Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and core data protection principles

Experience developing, implementing and maintaining practical data protection policies, procedures and governance frameworks

Experience working collaboratively with teams across an organisation to embed good data protection practices and support compliant decision-making

Demonstrated ability to communicate complex data protection principles clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences, including senior stakeholders and non-specialists

Experience designing and delivering data protection training and guidance, and supporting teams to understand and apply data protection requirements in their day-to-day work

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of Alzheimer's Research UK’s Supporter Experience strategy. This is a transformation programme and requires a leader who can not only lead a team but support an organisation to work collaboratively to enhance supporters trust, satisfaction and connection with their relationship with Alzheimer’s Research UK, recognising the importance of their role in helping to get to a cure.
The Head of Supporter Experience will lead two critical teams who all contribute to delivering our Supporter Experience; the Supporter Operations function which include both Supporter Relations (front end) and Fundraising Operations (back end) and the Supporter Engagement and Journeys team. But you’ll also work collaboratively to improve our Supporter Experience across the organisation – including those who give money, time, voice influence and deliver our mission (partners and researchers).
You will champion, design and oversee the implementation a personal, relevant and tailored experience – either through direct responsibilities or through influence, coaching and inspiring colleagues across the organisation to ensure that we are delivering our brand and supporter experience principles consistently across all supporter touch points and communications.
You’ll bring expertise in designing and delivering marketing personalisation and data automation through frameworks and tools meaning you’ll be data literate and experienced in implementing and embedding a martech approach. But most importantly you’ll be passionate about giving supporters a fantastic experience so that they stay longer, do more and feel like a valued part of getting to a cure for dementia.
You will be part of an Individual Giving and Legacy leadership team who will work collaboratively to deliver a joined-up mass income growth strategy, ensuring that we deliver a diverse product portfolio, exceptional supporter experience, and high performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Experience Leadership:
· Lead and own the Supporter Experience Transformation Programme, providing strategic leadership which enables the successful implementation and ongoing integration of our Supporter Experience strategy across the organisation to achieve its long-term goals.
· Develop a high performing Supporter Experience team, creating synergy and consistency of our supporter relations, operations and supporter engagement (journeys and loyalty comms).
· Coach and inspire colleges across the organisation, working collaboratively to embed supporter principles and journey frameworks to support the delivery of our organisation objectives within time, money and voice, leading for our holistic and joined up experience, moving us away from product / audience silos.
· Work with Fundraising Heads on how Supporter Experience can grow their income, and provide support with income modelling and budgets for long term income forecasts and annual ops planning cycles.
· Representing Supporter Experience on key programme boards and working groups to maximise our internal engagement and understanding of our Supporter Experience priorities and activity, but to also optimise our Supporter Experience by understanding the prioritise across the organisation.
Technical leadership:
· You will be responsible for ensuring Fundraising Operations are integrated, automated, compliant and efficient, not just within your own teams, but also across all of fundraising, marketing, communications and engagement.
· Always champion the supporter, working closely with our Head of Marketing Planning and Head of Insight and BI Teams to record, track and utilise supporter insights and Supporter Experience performance data to optimise our Supporter Experience Strategy.
· Responsible for ensuring we are utilising our martech tools and capabilities, and working closely with Digital, Data and Technology to ensure we deliver the most efficient and effective supporter journeys that feel personal, relevant and timely for our supporters.
· Responsible for keeping up to date on latest thinking, tools and technology for delivering effective Supporter Experiences.
Team management:
· Lead the Supporter Experience team, ensuring clarity of team purpose and vision, and driving high performance at all levels, and ensure the team is structured effectively for high performance and delivery of our growth plans.
· Directly manage your direct reports, developing an effective and joined up Supporter Experience Management team, ensuring all team members have clear, SMART objectives and development plans in place and routine performance reviews are undertaken.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
· Significant experience of martech tools and the design and implementation of supporter/customer journeys within these tools.
· Experience of successfully managing teams through change and transformation.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across Policy, Corporate Partnerships, Brand, Strategic Marketing, Social Media, Digital and in the Communications team, the Content Officer ensures that content is aligned, consistent and impactful. The postholder also contributes to the smooth delivery of content production and publication processes, helping to maintain high standards and a coherent organisational narrative.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery and production
· Develop high‑quality content across formats (e.g., explainers, briefings, blogs, supporter materials, video and digital assets) to support research, impact, policy and partnership storytelling.
· Produce accurate, engaging content for corporate and philanthropic partnerships, including supporter‑facing materials and impact stories.
· Contribute to major brand and campaign moments (e.g., World Alzheimer’s Month) through ideas, drafting and coordinated delivery.

About the role
As part of our small Health Academy team, you’ll work closely with the Health Academy Lead, Nutritionist and Physical Wellbeing Facilitators to deliver a range of wellbeing activities and events. From supporting programmes like Get Moving, Walking Football and Fishing for Wellbeing to attending community events, your work will help promote healthier lifestyles, encourage behaviour change, and raise awareness of cancer prevention and early detection.
You’ll also be a welcoming and supportive point of contact for our service users, offering practical support, listening, and guidance, while helping to ensure services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with best practice. Alongside this, you’ll support the smooth running of the team through administration, data collection, and collaboration with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners.

Duties and key responsibilities
Fundraising Support
- Provide administration and operational support across the fundraising team.
- Respond promptly and professionally to fundraising enquiries via post, email, and phone, offering support, guidance and thanking donors and fundraisers.
- Develop excellent and enduring relationships with current and potential supporters.
- Send fundraising materials (including t-shirts, information packs, etc.) to supporters.
- Support challenge event fundraising by stewarding fundraisers, providing logistical support and administrative duties.
- Support the delivery of community campaigns, concentrating on the innovative fundraising elements, and providing stewardship to fundraisers.

Stock and Online Shop
- Monitor Sarcoma UK’s online shop, and ecommerce platform. Ensuring it is regularly updated with accurate product listings and that orders are processed efficiently, meeting supporter expectations.

- Liaise with suppliers, process orders, and ensure smooth fulfilment of orders.

What you’ll need:
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent practical experience in IT Service Management
- Hands on experience with service desk ticketing systems and supporting Windows and macOS environments
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and end user device support
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and basic networking
- Excellent communication skills with a customer first mindset
- A proactive, self motivated approach and a genuine enthusiasm for learning and development
- A commitment to data protection, information security, and sustainable working practices
