Job Purpose
As Data Import and Integrity Executive, you will play a key role in ensuring supporter's donation & personal data are processed with speed, accuracy & compliantly. You will be part of a dedicated team that ensures all the data that drives our Fundraising and Advocacy income streams is imported to schedule and with total accuracy. You will support the drive to improve data integrity within the CARENG database, helping to identify root causes of issues and supporting the development of robust solutions to improve this area.

This role will give you the opportunity to directly impact the fund services delivered to our children and with a personalised development plan, you will be supported to evolve in the career you want. 

Key accountabilities:

  • Managing the process of uploading data onto the CARENG database so that all supporter transactions, contact details, preferences and other data are continually updated and always accurate, meeting set targets to ensure visibility to the teams within Fundraising & Marketing of the performance/status of imports
  • Supporting the development of robust processes that drive improvements in data integrity ensuring improved reliability of the data held on CARENG
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, e.g. true and proper capture of Data Protection preferences, correct capture of Gift Aid Declarations
  • Working with key suppliers and internal account managers to ensure they deliver the services promised, with the efficient and timely transfer of data to agreed protocols
  • Supporting the development of the CARENG database to meet the continually evolving needs of the user, including the testing of any database upgrades
  • Supporting the development of processes for new products including: sense-checking Import briefs, scoping out requirements and devising processes for the accurate and timely import of data to meet both fundraiser and supporter expectations
  • Ensuring all business rules and processes, including user guides, are thoroughly documented and signed off by the business
  • Supporting the work to identify improvements to processes that exploit opportunities for increased efficiencies and automation using Talend, our ETL automation software, helping to reduce the need for manual intervention as much as possible
  • Working closely with colleagues in the wider Supporter Data and Operations Department to provide coherent, practical and valuable support to internal clients
  • Running, as required, selections & extracts from the CARENG database following predefined processes
  • Provide front end CARENG training for Fundraisers.

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Good understanding of and experience in using relational databases
  • Thorough attention to detail, ensuring complete accuracy, even when under pressure
  • Experience and skill at managing, developing and communicating data protocols, file transfer arrangements and data integrity
  • Excellent and proven communicator with the confidence to explain technical issues in a simple and engaging manner to a wide range of audiences, through a variety of means
  • Strong problem solver, able to deliver innovative and effective solutions
  • Resourceful at managing own time, especially balancing routine work with more complex projects to ensure everything is completed to schedule with total accuracy
  • Strong numeric and verbal reasoning skills
  • Experience using the CARENG database and Talend software (desirable)
  • Expertise in managing large scale imports
  • Confident in using SQL
  • Confident in using MS Access.

  • Proactive, resourceful and flexible with the ability to prioritise heavy workloads to meet tight deadlines.
