Job description

Are you a dog lover who loves hitting targets? Do you want to help us promote responsible dog ownership and make a difference? Are you results orientated, with a track record of leading successful teams?

Dog Trust Dog School have an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and enthusiastic Area Manager to lead several Dog Schools in the region, supporting our passionate teams in business development as well as operational and financial management.

Dogs Trust Dog School is a nationwide delivery of dog training and human education for dog owners within their local communities. The school’s primary function is to deliver dog training classes, promoting a positive and fulfilling relationship with each other and helping owners to avoid the common pitfalls that can lead to behaviour problems in their dogs.

You will be responsible for helping Dogs Trust Dog Schools deliver the highest standards of customer service, supporting each school to make customer feedback acted upon.

As a proven business leader you will also lead the team in business development, making sure KPI’s are reached. Supporting them to establish relationships with local businesses and vet practices to maximise the Schools reach as well as ensuring the teams are well equipped to take advantage of new marketing opportunities for example utilising social media and local events.

As Area Manager you will be managing a number of Head Coaches of each school, you will take a lead on recruitment of teams, identifying and addressing staff training needs and development and managing performance.

With a proven track record of leading and managing teams that deliver on their targets you will have strong experience in business development, marketing and budget management. It goes without saying that you will also have a strong communication and IT skills and not be afraid on taking new challenges and reaching new audiences.

While we welcome people to apply who have an animal background, it is not essential – we are looking for candidates who share our passion for improving the lives of dogs everywhere and want to use their skills to help the Dog School teams achieve this common goal.

Please note that this is a Homebased opportunity with regular travel across the South West including Bridgend, Ilfracombe and Uxbridge.
