Family Rights Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Officer to act as the organisation's Data Protection Officer (DPO). You will provide expert advice and leadership on data protection compliance across the organisation, ensuring that Family Rights Group meets its statutory obligations under UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and related legislation, with particular attention to the lawful and sensitive handling of special category data relating to children, young people and families using our services.

Highly motivated and with significant experience of data protection compliance, you will act as the organisation's independent point of expertise and challenge on data protection matters, working across teams to embed data protection by design and default in all our services.

We have recently secured significant investment to scale up the implementation of Lifelong Links, one of our core programmes which enables care experienced young people to have loving relationships around them, over the next 18 months. This has enabled us to expand our team, including with the creation of a new Data Officer.

As DPO for the organisation, you will form a core part of the implementation team for this and other work, focusing on data compliance and procedures.

Joining a new team with an ambitious scope of scaling up the charity’s training and consultancy offer nationally, you will develop and strengthen the organisation’s data protection policies, procedures and data retention, ensuring full compliance with UK GDPR and data protection legislation.
