About You

You’ll have experience of research administration or management at a University, Research Institute or funding organisation and of supporting patient and public involvement in research or as part of quality improvement projects in a UK-wide healthcare context.  You’ll  have proven communication and team-working skills and can evidence your ability to horizon scan and network to keep up to date with research and quality improvement developments. We’re looking for candidates who ideally have experience of working in health/science research environments and a knowledge of project management methodology. A knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis would also be an advantage.

In this role, there is plenty of scope for a hybrid approach working from home,  although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings in Hatfield or across the UK. There is a requirement for you to attend a minimum of 12 in person days a year, including two Directorate meetings and the charity’s mandatory ‘All Staff Together’ days which take place four times a year at our offices in Hatfield or a location in London. The Senior Fundraising & Grants Manager will lead the development and delivery of Bite Back's fundraising strategy with a primary focus on trusts, foundations and institutional grants. You’ll oversee the organisation’s grants pipeline, coordinate funding applications and reports, and ensure excellent standards of funder stewardship and compliance. You’ll also play a role in developing early-stage public fundraising activities to diversify income and support the long-term sustainability of Bite Back’s youth-led mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Fundraising and Grants Manager is accountable for:

Fundraising Strategy & Planning

• Design, deliver and monitor a values-aligned fundraising strategy, with a primary focus on trusts and foundations.

• Set annual income targets, track progress against goals, and report performance to senior leadership and trustees.

• Identify new income opportunities to support Bite Back’s strategic growth and impact.

• Develop and maintain a 12–24 month grant pipeline to forecast income and manage funding cycles.

• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with the Code of Fundraising Practice, GDPR, and Bite Back’s ethical standards.

Grants from Trusts and Foundations

• Lead the processes for securing income from trusts, foundations and institutional funders, from prospect research through to submission, reporting and renewal.

• Research, identify and prioritise funding opportunities aligned with Bite Back’s youth-led mission and programmes. Collaborate with internal teams to conduct due diligence to ensure funding sources are aligned with our values.

• Prepare and submit high-quality, evidence-led, and compelling grant proposals in collaboration with the CEO, Director of Finance & Operations, Monitoring & Evaluation Manager, and programme leads.

• Coordinate grant management and tracking: maintain accurate records of deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.

• Work with the finance team to develop accurate project budgets and ensure financial reporting meets funder expectations and our operational needs.

• Produce and submit clear, engaging progress reports to funders that highlight impact, learning, and youth voices.

• Monitor grant income and expenditure, ensuring compliance and timely claims against restricted funding.

• Work with the Operations and Contracts Manager and the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to develop and improve systems for grant tracking and data integrity within the CRM (Salesforce).

Donor Stewardship and Relationship Management

• Work closely with the CEO to build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential funders, ensuring high-quality engagement and stewardship.

• Coordinate communications, updates, and thank-you processes for donors to encourage repeat and multi-year funding.

• Lead workstreams, working closely with the Brand Manager and leadership team for support, in order to deliver meetings, presentations, and reports to funders.

• Represent Bite Back at relevant events, funder briefings, and networking opportunities.

• Promote a culture of fundraising awareness and collaboration across the organisation.

Fundraising Development

• Work with the Communications and Operations teams to explore and pilot small-scale public fundraising initiatives (e.g. individual giving, online campaigns, web donation tool).

• Work with the CEO and Communications team to develop a new strategy to build a strong and committed donor network of high net worth individuals aligned with Bite Back’s values

• Develop systems, messaging, and supporter journeys that reflect Bite Back’s youth-led identity.

• Explore opportunities for revenue from the public sector.

• Test new public fundraising channels and evaluate their return on investment to inform future strategy.

Other

• Champion Bite Back’s values - Fresh, Resilient, Respectful, Energetic, and Real - in all fundraising work.

• Collaborate with the youth activism, communications, and policy teams to translate programme outcomes into fundable opportunities and compelling narratives.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Key responsibilities

Purpose of the post

The Finance Officer plays a crucial role within HDR UK as one of the key points of contact and financial support for the Institute. The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly-motivated and organised Membership Operations Administrator to join the charity. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop their customer service and administrative skills.

Main areas of work

• Manage and respond to queries from members via email and telephone, ensuring that you respond professionally and within agreed timeframes
• Support members to access their membership features, including logging on to our online platforms to access courses, content and our online shop
• Manage Group accounts and renewals effectively, including liaising closely with Groups contacts, issuing quotes and invoices
• Ensure that all contact and communications are compliant with relevant data protection and security standards

Additional areas of work

• Provide administrative support during the Fellowship process
• Generate regular reports on membership to inform organisational KPI reporting
• Provide administrative support for the Membership Operations Team
• Alongside your main areas of work, you will also participate in meetings and be encouraged to participate in CPD learning activities and training to maintain and develop your knowledge and skills.

About You

You don’t need to have expertise in absolutely all areas, but we’re looking for someone who is motivated by our mission, enjoys interacting with people on a range of tasks and is passionate about providing great customer service. Systems you would be using include Google Workspace, Salesforce,  Submittable, Zoom and Slack.

Experience and skills

Essential:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills 
• Experience of delivering high quality customer service, managing relationships with customers or other stakeholders and providing an excellent experience 
• Confident user of technology (email, online meeting tools and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace or similar); comfortable with learning new technology systems 
• Experience of working in a busy administration / office role with competing priorities
• Excel and data analysis skills 

Desirable:

• Experience of Salesforce or other CRM systems 
• Knowledge of GDPR and how it relates to the storage, retention and use of personal data 
• An interest in the membership and/or education sector and the support and development of teachers

 In UK Youth’s Impact department, we find, create and use evidence to respond to the needs and preferences of young people and the professionals who support them.  Reporting to the Evaluation & Learning Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a portfolio of research and evaluation projects. In this role you’ll be processing supporter donations, working with third party platforms and contributing to the smooth running of the income function. 
 

Salary

The salary for this role is £32,413 and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

• Allocate all income received through the bank and cash office.
• Download and process income reports from agencies such as CAF and Charities Trust. 
• Identify donors on Salesforce and create new donor records where necessary.

• Count and reconcile cash received into the Cash Office.

About the role

The role

The Project Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our Council funded Adult Bereavement Service in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This service aims to provide accessible, accessible, empathetic and effective support for adults affected by bereavement, particularly sudden or drug/alcohol-related deaths. The Project Delivery Officer will work collaboratively as part of the local and regional volunteer and staff team.
