We’re seeking an experienced, motivated Programme Manager with a passion for music and culture, and the confidence to drive projects forward in a small, collaborative team.

The Programmes You’ll Lead
Music Producer Club (MPC) – digital music-making for young people aged 12–18, delivered in schools, youth centres and online. Taught by ‘producer educators’ - working music producers we train to educate the next generation -, MPC builds creativity, skills and confidence while connecting participants with electronic music culture and the national curriculum.
Process – a development programme for women, non-binary and trans+ music makers. Structured across three strands for different abilities (Create, Define, Release), Process combines workshops, mentoring and masterclasses to build skills, confidence and community for underrepresented producers.
Out The Box (OTB) – hands-on analogue mixing workshops in leading London studios, giving emerging producers practical experience with desks, outboard gear and professional engineers while bridging digital and analogue production techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management

Lead planning, scheduling and delivery of MPC, Process and Out The Box programmes and events.
Quality Monitoring & Evaluation

Collect and analyse participant data, case studies and feedback, and drive solutions in response to pain points.

Support continuous improvement by feeding programme insights into CDR’s evolving evaluation framework, learning outputs, and communications strategy.

Ensure safeguarding, risk assessments and health and safety are adhered to across all programmes. Implementing training, good practice and further planning where necessary.
Strategic Development

Work with senior management to scale and embed programmes nationally.

Ensure programmes align with and contribute to the CDR Pathway, supporting participants to progress from entry-level engagement to sustained creative practice and professional development.

Guildford Cathedral is seeking a dynamic Head of Commercial Enterprise to oversee our Visitor Experience and Events Team. In this pivotal role, you will drive excellence across our Café Restaurant franchise and Cathedral Shop, ensuring outstanding service for all events clients and visitors.
Background
Guildford Cathedral is a sacred space and a community of people who engage with God and the wider world for the common good. We do this by being a warm-hearted community open to God, to all, to growth and to transformation. Over 100,000 visitors come to the Cathedral each year and our Cathedral ‘community’ comprises thousands who feel close the Cathedral because of historical connection, the purchase of a brick in the 1950s, their membership of the worshipping congregations or staff and volunteers.
Reporting to:Chief Operating Officer.
Accountable to:The Chapter of Guildford Cathedral and the Guildford Cathedral Enterprises Management Board.
Hours and salary:Full time – 35 hours per week (flexibility is essential for this role and the hours worked are governed by the pattern of the events programme). The salary for the post is £45,400.
What You'll Do:
Lead the Enterprise team to provide an outstanding level of service to events clients, visitors, including the families programme, and deliver excellence in the Café Restaurant franchise and the Shop. You will work enthusiastically as part of the Cathedral’s team of staff and volunteers to help deliver our vision.
Some of the Key Responsibilities of the role:

Events
- To direct the events team in organising the extensive events programme, maximise the spare capacity of the Cathedral building and the adjacent grounds, thereby generating income as required by the Cathedral budget.
- To be responsible for the execution of events, delegating to the Events Team and/or other Staff members as appropriate.
- To be on duty as part of the team rota delivering events.
Café Restaurant
- To ensure that the franchise delivers the requisite performance, in terms of quality and financial benefit to the Cathedral, as required by the contract between Guildford Cathedral Enterprises and the franchisee.
Management
- To be the line manager for the Enterprise team members, including Events Officer, Events Assistant, Shop Manager & Shop Assistant, Visitor Engagement Officer, and the Families Engagement Officer.
- To be the Cathedral point of contact for management issues related to the employees of the Café Restaurant franchisee.
- To attend Diary Management and Head of Department Meetings.
- To ensure all marketing and relevant information reaches the marketing team in a timely manner.
Shop
- To direct the Shop team to provide value for money in the Shop, delivering an excellent level of service to the community and a level of income required by the Cathedral budget.
Visitor Engagement & Families Programme
- To direct the Visitor Engagement Officer and Family Engagement Officer to deliver the wide programme of tours, concerts, and Family engagement days, broadening our visitor numbers and demographic and managing the outreach activities actively and effectively.

The Volunteer Pogramme Manager will be responsible for the programming, planning, organisation, administration and delivery of HOME’s Volunteer Programme, which aims to:
• Provide a diverse range of people with the opportunity to develop skills and improve their wellbeing within the unique environment of a creative contemporary arts centre
• Develop employability and emotional intelligence skills
• Contribute to developing future talent within the cultural sector

Main Duties
• Collaborate with staff across the organisation to champion, programme, plan, organise and deliver HOME’s Volunteer Programme.
• Recruit, monitor, rota and support volunteers. Organise inductions and training for all volunteers. Ensuring they are appropriately trained and matched to roles and that volunteers with additional needs are supported.
• Oversee communications to all volunteers ensuring they have all information needed to succeed in their role, including sending a weekly newsletter and providing role briefing information.
• Work closely with Engagement team members to ensure that opportunities are targeted towards participants, partners and groups we are working with where appropriate.
• Work with the Customer Service Team to ensure appropriate staff are trained and/ or supported to enable them to support and develop volunteers.

• Manage and control the Volunteer Programme budget in liaison with the Director of Audiences, and to assist in raising additional financial support when necessary.
• Maintain monitoring as well as record keeping systems to evaluate work and prepare material for the written reports for HOME's Board and funders.
• Represent HOME at relevant conferences and events and be an advocate for this programme of work internally, locally, regionally and nationally.
• Ensuring that all individuals who are legally required to undertake a DBS check are vetted before beginning relevant activity.
• Work collaboratively and supportively as a member of HOME, playing a key role in developing and delivering an integrated, inclusive, vibrant and creative programme of work.
• Ensure that all quarterly and annual reporting is completed on time and in full.
