Job description

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Data and Insight Analyst to play a pivotal role in our Central Services in London.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

In this pivotal role, you'll design and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards, streamline data pipelines, and collaborate across departments to deliver actionable intelligence. Your work will directly support the implementation of Hestia's Data & Insight Strategy, empowering teams to make informed, impactful decisions that improve lives. You'll mentor junior analysts, enhance data quality, and produce compelling narrative reports for internal and external stakeholders. From coordinating service reporting to developing early warning indicators, your contributions will shape the future of Hestia's services. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and are ready to elevate data into a strategic asset, we'd love to hear from you. Step into a role where your expertise drives real-world impact.

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

Here's what the team will be looking for:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience independently developing Power BI datasets and dashboards, including complex DAX measures, alongside strong proficiency in Power Query and data modelling principles. They will demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel, and possess the ability to translate operational or business requirements into effective technical data solutions. A solid understanding of Hestia's regulatory and reporting environment is essential, including experience producing regular reports for funders. The role requires the ability to analyse complex performance data and present insights that drive continuous improvement, as well as prepare high-quality papers for service managers, directors, and trustees. Strong organisational and project management skills are key, along with experience mentoring colleagues in data analysis or reporting.

Candidates should bring excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with outstanding written and visual communication skills. Familiarity with analytics or query languages such as SQL or Python is desirable, as is the ability to develop and maintain systems for evaluating and monitoring service outcomes. A commitment to ethical data use, transparency, and continuous improvement is vital, as is an awareness of data protection principles and sensitivity when handling personal data. The successful applicant will be comfortable working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and will play a central role in fostering a data-informed culture across the organisation.

When will I be working?

You will be working Monday to friday between the hours of 9am to 5.20pm
