Job description

Are you an experienced Business or Process Analyst who enjoys untangling complex systems, understanding how data really works and finding better ways to connect the dots?

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is looking for a Process Analyst to help us build a clearer, more joined-up understanding of how data moves through our organisation.

This is a hands-on, data-focused role. You'll work across systems, teams and processes to map how information is captured, transformed and used; identify where things break down; and help create clearer rules and more sustainable ways of working.

You'll need to be comfortable getting into the detail of data, asking challenging questions and working closely with technical and non-technical colleagues to turn complexity into practical solutions.

Salary

The salary for this role is £48,192 per annum and this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

We operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build an end-to-end view of our data landscape, documenting how systems connect, how data moves between them and where key dependencies sit.
  • Map complex data flows and business processes across platforms including Salesforce, Snowflake, Marketing Cloud and other connected systems.
  • Identify duplication, manual workarounds, data quality issues and points of failure, digging into root causes rather than simply fixing individual problems.
  • Help establish clear and consistent business definitions, data rules and governance across areas such as matching, deduplication, consent, retention and data ownership.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand the business need before considering the technology solution, constructively challenging existing assumptions and ways of working.
  • Translate complex business and data requirements into clear process maps, requirements, user stories and documentation that technical teams can use.
  • Work closely with Data Management, Data Engineering, Salesforce and business teams to turn findings into practical improvements across systems and processes.
  • Support new integrations, testing and implementation, ensuring changes work effectively across the whole data lifecycle rather than solving one part of the process in isolation.
  • Create clear documentation that strengthens organisational knowledge and reduces reliance on individual or undocumented technical knowledge.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience working as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, Data Management Analyst or in a similar role involving complex systems and data.
  • Strong experience mapping and documenting end-to-end business processes, system interactions or data flows.
  • Experience working across integrated systems such as CRM, data warehouse, marketing automation or other enterprise platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate problems, identify root causes and recommend sustainable improvements.
  • An understanding of data management concepts such as data quality, governance, business rules, data lineage and ownership.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with the confidence to ask challenging questions and constructively challenge established ways of working.
  • Ability to translate between business and technical teams, making complex requirements clear and understandable.
  • Strong documentation and process-mapping skills, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or complex problems.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Snowflake or Marketing Cloud would be useful, but specific platform expertise isn't essential.

DBS - note a basic DBS check is required for this role
