Due to Trustee retirement, Braintree Area Foodbank is looking for a new volunteer Finance Trustee. You will be part of Braintree Area Foodbank's board of Trustees, which provides governance and leadership over a Charity that provided over 12,000 meals last year. Braintree Area Foodbank has grown significantly in recent years, with new, exciting projects on the horizon. The Charity is looking for a candidate from a financial background, with experience of planning, preparing and monitoring budgets with expertise in the preparation of annual accounts. Support is available from a volunteer Treasurer along with additional support and guidance from the Board. Brief outline of Braintree Area Foodbank:
Braintree Area Foodbank started in 2012. We are a part of the Trussell Trust network of food banks and distribute food and other essentials to people in crisis food poverty. We operate over a wide area around Braintree, with distribution centres in Braintree itself, Great Notley, Sible Hedingham, Halstead and Witham, supported by home deliveries where required. We work with a wide range of frontline referral agencies, voluntary and statutory, which are issued with vouchers to enable them to refer clients to the foodbank, having assessed their needs. Clients then visit one of our centres where they are met with light refreshments and a listening ear. Additionally, in order to try to mitigate the underlying cause of the crisis, our centres have information on a wide range of organisations to which clients may be signposted by one our volunteers.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Review timesheets, run payroll including the maintenance of this system. Set up payments for travel and remuneration. This includes managing the Inland Revenue system and the pension scheme.
- Monitor and manage our online finance management system, including updating our internal cash flow report.
- Provide supporting financial information for grant applications. Including monitoring and maintaining records for related expenditure for grants received for inclusion in donor reports.
- Review Charity savings including the investigation for new or renewable investments, with the completion of paperwork as necessary.
- Prepare and present the annual budget for the Board of Trustees agreement.
- Complete the SOFA, balance sheet and notes for inclusion in the TAR. This will include liasing with Trustees to support a Trustee commentary to sufficiently explain financial data.
- Obtaining the acceptance of the TAR from Trustees and organise and attend meetings with the Independent Examiner.

We are looking for a friendly face to help staff the Yeldall Manor reception desk for a few hours each week.
The role entails being the first point of contact for telephone callers, visitors and residents, welcoming and redirecting their queries/calls as appropriate. You will be comfortable using a computer in order to send emails, access the diary and assist with basic admin tasks, although there may also be times with less to do.

Position Overview
Based in the coastal town of Fort Dauphin in the southeast of Madagascar, this post will focus on the provision of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) support and advice to multiple projects across our rural livelihoods, schools, (WASH), and conservation programmes. The successful candidate will work within a combined National and International staff team to support MEL processes across the organisation. Primary Responsibilities
Supporting MEL procedures and strategies to ensure progress toward project outcomes on select projects; refinement and development of MEL systems and tools for projects; completion of reports, papers and other documents analysing data and summarising findings and support on project reporting that aligns with international standards and best practice.

Overall responsibility:
- Leading on the financial affairs of the Foodbank; ensuring that they are conducted within the required legal, accounting and good practice conventions;
- To work in partnership with the Chair and Trustees to ensure the financial viability and development of the Foodbank..
Key tasks are to ensure that the Trustees:
- Fulfil their financial responsibilities
- Have proper systems for budgeting, financial control, insurances, and reporting;

Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is an essential part of LAFF’s work: it allows us to identify areas of success and areas which need improvement, as well as to make sure that all of LAFF’s activities work to support our long term goals and mission. Under the supervision of the Programme Manager, the M&E Coordinator will develop LAFF’s M&E Strategy, aiming to monitor and evaluate the progress, effectiveness and impact of our programs and interventions through a participatory and culturally sensitive approach.
You will lead all M&E activities for LAFF, measure indicators, work closely with our local partners and beneficiaries in Peru, and produce internal and external reports. You will have independence to propose frameworks for data collection, summarising and storing, as well as compiling reports to present data and draw conclusions.
The M&E Coordinator will have a logical approach to collecting data, recognising the specific context in which we work and how that affects both quantitative and qualitative data. Awareness of LAFF’s context will also be essential for assessing risks and assumptions when developing project logframes.
Objectives of this Role
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the M&E Coordinator will be expected to carry out the following tasks:

Design strategies for strengthening data collection, interpretation and reporting.

Design and develop appropriate framework and attendant systems for effective monitoring and evaluation of programmes

Coordinate all M&E activities for the organisation

Position Overview
Based in the coastal town of Fort Dauphin in the southeast of Madagascar, this post will lead on the provision of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) support and advice to multiple projects across the thematic areas of sustainable livelihoods, education infrastructure, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), conservation programmes, with specific focus on Community Health Projects. These will likely include projects on sexual and reproductive health and rights, maternal and child health and emergency food distribution. The successful candidate will work within a combined National and International staff team to refine, develop and lead MEL processes across the organisation. Predominantly office-based in Fort-Dauphin, the MEL Officer will travel occasionally to visit project sites. This exciting post would suit an early-career MEL Officer seeking in-country experience for developing and managing MEL systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead the design and implementation of rigorous MEL procedures and strategies for select projects and organisational initiatives that incorporates stakeholder feedback, adapt to local needs, and support high-quality implementation in line with ongoing and emerging initiatives.

Person specification
● Master’s degree in International Development, Research Methods, Statistics, or related field.
● 2-3 years of professional in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.
● Experience in the design, refinement, development and implementation of MEL frameworks for international development and/or community health sectors.
● Experience leading Results-Based Management approaches, including logframe development and refinement (essential). Experience with participatory approaches to MEL is desirable.
