Key Responsibilities:

- Provide excellent administration and organisational skills to support the delivery of successful special events throughout the year (to include Place2Be’s Arts & Minds Gala dinner, Carol Concert, private dinners, school visits and drinks receptions)
- Lead on production of the team’s 6-monthly major donor update report, writing copy, gathering case studies, and designing the report using Canva or InDesign
- Work closely with the wider Fundraising team to spot and develop opportunities and support fundraising activity across the team
- Follow best practice in all aspects of fundraising and keep abreast of Place2Be’s policies and the latest developments in philanthropy and special events fundraising
What you will need:
- Experience of working in a philanthropy or fundraising role where excellent customer service skills are required, or relevant experience/transferable skills
- Experience of basic use of design software e.g. Canva, InDesign or equivalent
- Experience of organising fundraising or engagement events

Responsibilities of our Corporate Partnerships Officer:
As Corporate Partnerships Officer you will help identify, research and cultivate relationships with existing partners and to help implement the corporate partnerships fundraising plan, aligned with the wider fundraising strategy.
You will hold responsibility for managing a portfolio of partners providing cultivation and engagement strategies which maximise their lifetime value, using corporate fundraising techniques and support the development of creative and compelling proposals for existing partners and develop inspiring and engaging communications.
You will support the Corporate Partnerships team with larger accounts and projects and the transition of new business accounts to the account management team, liaise with volunteer branches and centres in the implementation of national partnerships, manage the administration and marketing of Payroll Giving and keep concise records of partnership projects on the central database.

Your Role:
As Programme Development Manager, your role will be to oversee the development and writing of high quality, bespoke pitch decks, concept notes, and proposals for business and philanthropic partners. With a new five-year strategy in place, the Education team play a key role in one of our areas of greatest growth potential; helping to ensure the BIR remains financially sustainable in a changing environment, offering education to more people, and helping grow our membership.
We aim to deliver world class education, training and CPD in a wide range of new and exciting formats, in response to current and future market needs. In 2022/3 the Education team ran 39 events over the year, including 12 virtual events, 11 face-to-face events – including two that were hybrid, and 16 webinars.
JOB SUMMARY
This post is central to the activities of the BIR. The role-holder will ensure effective planning, marketing and delivery of the BIR’s educational events, which includes a combination of both in-person and virtual events. The role is hands-on and often involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You must be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of an event. Some UK travel and out of hours working is involved.
MEETINGS PROGRAMME/TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
• To plan, coordinate and manage the educational events programme (currently approximately 39 events per year).
• To plan, develop and market the annual events calendar in a timely manner.
• To liaise as required with the Education Committee, Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches ensuring that educational events are proposed and organised within the annual events calendar (involved from inception to delivery).
• To attend and brief all BIR Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches on performance of meetings and events. This includes post-event evaluations (including data entry and analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders and Education Committee).
• Lead the delivery of our key annual events, including managing logistics, administration and engaging with speakers, delegates and sponsors at the event.
• To assist in delivering the education programme in a wide range of new and exciting formats.
• To undertake market research to identify opportunities for events.
• To work closely with ‘event leads’ to ascertain their precise event requirements. Also, responsible for bringing any deviation or potential risk to the programme to the attention of the Director of Educational Development in a timely manner.
• To source and develop relationships with sponsors, event exhibitors and corporate members
• To ensure that all tasks required to produce successful events are allocated to the appropriate staff member and to support staff in performing those tasks. To monitor income against budget and ensure that the BIR income is maximised through delivering excellent programmes and through creative use of facilities.
• To act as an ambassador for the BIR and foster strong relationships with stakeholders including sister organisations and industry contacts
• To prepare the annual budget forecasts for the coming year and monitor and report against performance during the year.
• To scope, secure and book suitable venues or locations for events.
• To ensure health and safety, insurance and legal obligations are adhered to.
• To co-ordinate venue management, caterers, exhibitors, contractors and equipment hire.

The successful candidate will use their experience in data governance to undertake regular due diligence on the key elements of the Age UK data privacy framework, identifying and reporting any areas of practice and procedure that that require focus and remedy to ensure that there is no weakness across the charity and our commercial partners.

Must haves:
* Experience of working in a data governance role with responsibility for personal data used in a database marketing environment for a charitable /commercial/financial services industry.

* Experience in managing and responding to data protection rights requests (SARs) and complaints.

This Operations Manager role will support our small, high-performing team; strengthen our partnerships and projects; and deliver a programme of events to share our work. You will work on a range of projects that seek to improve communications on issues like access to justice, achieving health equity, and securing decent and affordable homes for everyone.
We would like to appoint an Operations Manager to work 4 or 5 days a week with 2 days a week spent in person with the team at our central London office (by Waterloo station). Beyond this, there is scope for flexibility.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated to support the team and our partners to create social progress. They will have previous relevant work experience in operations, admin, events or finance type roles, and will be brilliantly well organised, proactive, confident, and happy to take on a broad range of tasks.
The full time salary is £33,000-£37,000 (depending on skills and experience) per annum plus benefits including 27 days of paid annual leave and 6% employer pension contributions.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead on the development and delivery of our major donor strategy,
- Identify and build relationships with new individual supporters and prospects and ensure a consistent, healthy pipeline of new supporters
- Increase the number of individual supporters making regular donations (annual/multi-year) year on year

Fundraising Manager (Grants and Trusts)
Working closely with the Chief Executive, the Fundraising Manager will help secure and sustain existing and new grant income streams from trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, statutory bodies, and other local or national funders. The Fundraising Manager will work with others to research and identify prospective new funding opportunities, write and submit grant applications, and build strong relationships with donors. They will have strong confidence in presenting AFRUCA to prospective donors and coordinate and maintain strong working relationships with them.
We are looking for a strong candidate able to develop compelling AFRUCA funding proposals tailored to the requirement of each funder. They must have a strong knowledge and understanding of the UK charity sector fundraising landscape. They must possess excellent written communication and organising skills. They must possess sound interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and negotiate with external and internal stakeholders. They must be assertive, able to demonstrate personal resourcefulness in the generation of new revenue and funding streams for AFRUCA.

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen growth. We have also seen increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build a fantastic body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We then need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed.
About the Toolkit and Synthesis Team
The Toolkit and Synthesis team is at the heart of our work to spread knowledge of what works to prevent children becoming involved in violence. We do this by creating free, highly accessible summaries of the best available research. We love to discuss the latest developments in research methods, but we’re not just interested in research for its own sake. We want research to lead to actual changes in outcomes for children.
Our flagship resource is our Toolkit a free, online resource that summarises the best available evidence about preventing children becoming involved in serious violence. It’s based on the highest-quality systematic reviews but is written in plain English and is free of jargon. It provides practical guidance and helps practitioners and policy makers turn evidence into action. The Toolkit is a live resource – we regularly update it so that professionals working to keep children safe have access to the latest findings. We do this by commissioning new systematic reviews, building a pipeline of evidence to keep expanding the Toolkit.
Alongside our work on the Toolkit, our team is also responsible for the YEF Programmes Evidence and Gap Map and the YEF Systems Evidence and Gap Map. We’re working with external partners to explore new ways of updating the research using the latest developments in technology. We’re also working with partners on an Effect Size Database to facilitate new systematic reviews and meta-analyses of research examining the impact of violence prevention interventions.
Key responsibilities
The Senior Research Manager will be an essential part of the YEF Toolkit and Synthesis team and will develop a portfolio of impactful projects. The core of your role will be leading our work on commissioning evidence synthesis.
This will involve:
- Developing the future pipeline of systematic reviews. You’ll scope out the existing evidence base and understand the needs of our audience. You’ll use this information to recommend new review topics for YEF funding.
- Leading on the design, commissioning, and management of systematic reviews. You’ll also work with our partners to manage existing grants for systematics reviews. This will involve reviewing protocols and reports, working with advisory groups, and ensuring that systematic reviews will meet our aims.
- Becoming an advocate for the insights generated by YEF-funded reviews both within and outside the organisation. You’ll ensure that these insights inform our strategy and are accurately communicated to policy makers and practitioners.
- Writing and reviewing content for the Toolkit. You’ll use findings from evidence synthesis to produce new content for the Toolkit, including summaries of the evidence and impactful resources which enable the application of research in practice. You’ll ensure that Toolkit content is only ever easy-to-understand and written in plain English with incredible clarity.
- Providing leadership across the organisation to ensure synthesis is high-quality. You’ll be the go-to person at the YEF for support with evidence synthesis.
- Ensuring that reviews are used to update and expand the YEF’s Evidence and Gap Maps.
- Contributing research to support the scoping, development and delivery of our grant-making.
- Ensuring that our strategy and decision-making are informed by the best available research.
