The Holocaust Educational Trust team is made up of hard working, energetic people who are passionate about our mission to educate every person from every background in the UK about the Holocaust and its relevance today.

Over the course of our history, the Trust has created a delivered innovative a meaningful learning experiences and educational programmes which reach over 100,000 young people each year, teaching them about what the Holocaust was, and its relevance today. The schools’ programmes we delivery include our Outreach/survivor speaker programme; our Lessons from Auschwitz Project; the Youth Advocacy/Ambassador Programme; Testimony 360: People and Places of the Holocaust; and Teacher Training. 

We are looking for a proactive, positive and team-oriented Schools Coordinator to work within our busy and fast-paced team. We are proud to have recently been identified as delivery partner for the Department for Education’s ‘Supporting Survivor Testimony in Teaching’ contract. Your priority area will be to ensure the effective and timely onboarding of schools who have registered to take part in this initiative, ensuring that once they have registered, we provide a seamless and efficient user journey, maximum school participation, and encourage further engagement across the organisation.

You will need to use your initiative and have a willingness to adapt to changing demands and priorities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of organisational skills, integrity, problem solving and people skills.

Key responsibilities

When a school registers for one of the Trust’s programmes, the Schools Coordinator manages the logistics and organisation of each school’s engagement, working closely with the schools and link teachers to ensure the smooth delivery of our programme. This includes:

• Coordinate booking dates/times – working with schools to ensure we fulfil their application to join one of our programmes.
• Handle enquiries and maintain accurate booking records.
• Staff allocation – securing freelance educator to deliver content.
• Direct communication – building and maintaining strong relationships with schools, teachers, and school staff, ensuring a smooth user experience for our clients. This includes, but is not limited to, answering queries from teachers / staff as received, linking schools with respective freelance educators as necessary, sharing all relevant updates and information ensuring teachers/staff are fully informed about the delivery plans.
• Courier booking – to ensure all hardware is onsite for respective delivery.
• Kit maintenance – monitoring processes related to monitoring of kit and responding to issues log in a swift manner.
• Monitoring – logistics plans and raising any issues with senior logistics staff as they arise.
• Maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
• Manage office communications, including phone calls and emails.
• Assist with general administrative tasks to support the teams objectives.

This is a full time contracted role until 31st March 2027 working in our Central London office location with hybrid working available in line with organisational policy.

Your Role

What you'll do:

Skills and Experience Required

What you'll bring:

Location and Travel Requirements

Role Summary

The UN Policy Manager (all genders) supports our ambitious efforts to engage with international institutions to bring food system transformation and sustainable diets to the heart of the global policy agenda. They will work within our UN team to mainstream a shift towards plant-based diets as a proven climate change adaptation and mitigation solution. 

We are looking for a candidate to lead our biodiversity policy and advocacy workstream, including our engagement with the UN CBD. The ideal candidate is a biodiversity expert with demonstrated experience of influencing policy outcomes at national or international level. A strong understanding of relevant financial mechanisms, instruments and entities, and experience in engaging with international policy processes and UN agencies is a plus.

Responsibilities

Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement (60%)

• Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with external stakeholders and identify opportunities and strategies to improve engagement with policy-makers, environmental and other aligned organizations, healthcare officials, corporate leaders, scientific bodies, and grant-making organisations.

• Identify opportunities to influence policy narratives and (climate) agenda on biodiversity issues (international events, calls for contribution of UN agencies, coalitions work etc.)

• Collaborate with ProVeg country teams to develop a targeted outreach to national policymakers and spread our Diets Toolkit contributing effectively to our global policy impact.

• Develop ProVeg’s positions and advocacy strategy regarding biodiversity and agriculture/food systems. 

Partnership & Coalition Coordination (20%)

• Build a strong network of organizations and individuals in support of our advocacy work at the different UN bodies, specifically the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, and participate in coalitions and joint advocacy campaigns.

• Maintain a database of activities, contacts, and external engagements in Hubspot. 

Event Planning & Logistics (10%)

• Coordinate talks, press conferences, and networking events in the lead up to different events (SB64, COP17, COP31).

• Speak at public events, fora, and other platforms, and serve as a representative of ProVeg to the public and the media.

• Support planning of logistical arrangements for different events (badging, travel, accommodation etc.).

Communications & Outreach (5%)

• Raise the profile of ProVeg online and offline by writing compelling content (e.g. Op-Eds) for targeted websites, campaigns, social media, mainstream media & PR (including broadcast media) with the support of our Communications team

Qualifications

• You hold at least a Master’s degree in political science, public affairs, law, or a similar subject. 

• You bring 3-5 years of relevant experience in policy work, and a demonstrated track record influencing international or national policy outcomes on biodiversity or a related field.

• You have a good understanding of international multilateral processes and entities (e.g., United Nations, IPCC), especially CBD COPs (advantage).

• You demonstrate excellent command of English, both oral and written; additional languages are a plus.

• You possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a strong international policy network.

• You have a good understanding of food system transformation and protein diversification, particularly as they relate to biodiversity.

What you’ll do in the trainee role:

• Year 1: Learn the foundations of property services, supporting our admin team and Asset Data and Programme.
• Staffing the service desk and handling queries via phone and email from residents, contractors, and colleagues.
• Provide excellent customer service alongside the service desk, and use relevant IT systems to process maintenance requests and reactive repairs.
• Year 2: Work alongside the Asset Data and Programme Manager learning how to collect, plan and report on asset data and information, model the annual investment programmes and implement projects and systems.
• Complete a structured training programme, and work towards a professional qualification (CIH Level 2–4)
• Attend formal learning off site whilst working towards a recognised qualification.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.

Reporting to the Senior Supporter Care Manager, you will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Operation Smile UK. As an integral part of the Supporter Care team, you will successfully support the Individual Giving programme and wider fundraising activities, providing support to ever-increasing income and supporter stewardship for the delivery of increasing levels of unrestricted income for Operation Smile UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for existing supporters and new supporters who respond to our fundraising activities by phone, email, letter or in person, letter, or email delivering outstanding supporter care
• Liaise with supporters in timely communication via email, phone, and mail, with excellent customer care
• Prioritise answering incoming phone calls and escalate any difficult situations/complaints to the Senior Supporter Care Manager
• Support processing incoming phone and postal donations
• Assist with banking and processing incoming/outgoing post
• Be responsible for thanking our supporters, including by letter, email and phone, dispatch of information and fundraising materials
• Enter and maintain accurate records on our Database
• Maintain and assist with all types of donation processing, administration and Database record amendments/records being kept up to date. This will include Gift Aid status and contact consent requests
• Assist with cancelling and amending all types of regular gifts and sending out appropriate letters
• Manage the removal process and consent process
• Assist with sending out problem payment letters
• Following up cancelled regular payments as part of the winback process
• Assist with handling material requests and recording actions on the Database
• Assist with any third-party agency supporter care requests
• Maintain sensitive information and records with appropriate confidentiality
• Play an active role in developing the supporter journey at Operation Smile UK, working with the Senior Supporter Care Manager and colleagues across Fundraising & Communications.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the Senior Supporter Care Manager

Experience in Special Events is essential, ideally in a charity environment. The successful candidate will have excellent event management skills, experience of working with senior stakeholders, and the ability to deliver creative and engaging events to inspire donor support.
