We are looking for a proactive, creative and compassionate Christian to join our team as an Activities and Community Engagement Facilitator at The Evington Home in Leicester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys spending time with older people, creating meaningful activities and building positive relationships with local churches, community groups, families and volunteers.

The Evington Home is about three miles from Leicester city centre and offers residential care, as well as providing dementia care. The Evington Home has 30 rooms, the majority of which have either garden or park views. See our beautiful home here.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play an important role in creating opportunities for our residents to connect with one another, their families and the wider community.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and developing relationships with local churches and community groups.
• Keeping local churches and community contacts informed through regular newsletters and communications.
• Visiting local churches and community organisations and giving presentations about the home and the work we do.
• Developing positive relationships with ministers, pastors, vicars and other community leaders.
• Planning and facilitating activities, events and outings that are enjoyable, stimulating and meaningful for residents.
• Developing and coordinating a programme of monthly activities based around residents’ interests and abilities.
• Recruiting, supporting and leading a team of volunteers.
• Organising activities and events that encourage family involvement.
• Developing community events such as coffee mornings, summer fairs and open days.
• Helping to raise the profile of The Evington Home within the local community.
• Carrying out other reasonable duties as required.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

• A committed evangelical Christian who is passionate about serving others.
• Friendly, approachable and confident when meeting new people.
• Comfortable speaking to groups and representing the home within the community.
• Creative and enthusiastic about developing activities and events.
• A natural relationship builder who enjoys connecting people and organisations.
• Organised and able to manage several activities and relationships at the same time.
• Compassionate and genuinely interested in the lives and experiences of older people.
• Confident working independently while also being a supportive member of the wider team.

Most importantly, you'll have a genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of our residents and help The Evington Home develop strong links with the community around it.

*Applicants must be evangelical Christians (This role has an Occupational Requirement to be filled by a Christian under the provisions of the Equality Act (2010).)

Hours:

Full-time contract: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
