Dementia UK has an opportunity for a passionate Fundraising Community Coordinator to join our mass participation team. You will play a crucial part in managing the online communities for our month-long Virtual Events and Owned Products, ensuring an exceptional experience for our dedicated supporters. Examples of these events include Walk 31 Miles in May, Time for a Cuppa and Fans vs Dementia.

As a Fundraising Community Coordinator, you will be responsible for first point of contact with supporters in our online communities and inboxes, promptly responding to inquiries to help inspire and uplift fundraising activity.

You will also assist with the development of the supporter experience, including helping to improve fundraising resources, creating FAQ’s and gathering compelling case studies to further drive support. Additionally, you will provide administrative support to the whole team, acknowledging donations, and offering an exceptional experience to our event supporters via SMS, email and social media becoming a fundraising expert within the Mass Participation Team.

We are looking for you to have a proven track record in building positive relationships, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will have experience of following processes and have strong organisational and planning skills. Experience in managing online communities and utilising databases will be highly beneficial.

The Counselling and Outreach Coordinator role is key to SEL Mind's exciting new counselling service for Black residents of Southwark, delivered as part of the wider Southwark Wellbeing Hub. This full-time role will shape the Wellbeing Hub's provision to the Black community, expanding equitable access to culturally-appropriate support. 

As Coordinator, you will provide initial clinical assessments to prospective service users and coordinate a small pool of Trainee Counsellors, expanding future access to Black-led counselling. You'll line manage an Administrator who is responsible for scheduling and other practical elements of the service. You'll also work closely in partnership with community organisations to ensure relevant, de-colonial approaches, including maintaining a delivery partnership with Black Psychotherapy.

The main working site is a community centre in SE5, and the community outreach work involves regular travel across the borough. You will play a vital role in building community trust, ensuring that we are creating routes into the service and continually seeking and implementing feedback.

We are seeking a qualified therapist who is passionate about improving Black people's access to early mental health support. Relationships and partnership working is vital, so you should be able to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative. 

The role will involve:

• Undertaking skilled assessments of client needs and risks, taking into account the nature and complexity of presenting needs and suitability for short-term therapeutic work
• Recruiting and training volunteer Counsellors, ensuring trauma-informed work integrating spirituality and cultural values, using creative therapeutic modalities, and maintaining therapeutic relationships that honour diverse healing approaches
• Maintaining a live engagement strategy and actively reaching out with physical presence to grassroots organisations, faith groups, community centres, cultural associations, and spaces for people experiencing difficult situations including e.g. food banks and advice/advocacy organisations
• Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of the service, bringing recommendations to support the SWH's inclusivity and best practice

This role involves providing culturally specific support to Black clients. Applicants must be able to demonstrate lived experience of, and deep cultural understanding within, Black communities, and the ability to build trust with Black service users.

We are looking for an administrator to support the Home Together Coordinator to facilitate our Home Together Service. The Home Together Service provides reactive assistance for up to six weeks from a clients return from hospital and remote ongoing support thereafter. The Home Together Administrator assists the Home Together Coordinator to deliver a wide range of practical and emotional support to older people who are having difficulties; for example, older people who have recently been discharged from hospital and/or are recovering from illness or injury, and/or are socially isolated and need support to stay healthy, connected, and independent. This busy and varied role will involve working with volunteers, the staff team, voluntary partners, and health and social care providers, with the client at the centre of everything we do.  The Home Together Service sits within our Age Well Together Service, which offers a range of assistance to support clients at home and in their local community to prevent decline; maintain independence; reduce social isolation; and promote health and wellbeing with care, friendship and understanding. This includes our befriending services, an online shopping service and a Handyperson service. 

The Counselling Administrator role is key to SEL Mind's exciting new counselling service for Black residents of Southwark, delivered as part of the wider Southwark Wellbeing Hub. This part-time role (2.5 days / 18.5 hours per week) will play an important role in the Wellbeing Hub's provision to the Black community, expanding equitable access to culturally-appropriate support.

As Administrator, you will provide front-line support to clients wishing to access the service, screening them, ensuring accurate appointment scheduling, providing information and signposting to other support services as necessary. You'll work closely with the Counselling and Outreach Coordinator to keep up-to-date on other community organisations providing access to relevant, de-colonial approaches to mental health support.

The main working site is a community centre in SE5, and the role is at least one day per week in person. You will play a vital role in delivering an efficient, well-run service. Communication and partnership working is vital, so you should be highly organised and able to work independently but collaboratively. 
The role will involve:

• Managing the Southwark Wellbeing Hub Counselling inbox and phoneline (along with the Counselling and Outreach Manager)
• Maintaining the schedule of counselling sessions and Counsellor group supervision, including client appointment reminders and re-scheduling as needed
• Providing clients with light-touch support by telephone and email
• Collecting and recording data, including customer feedback, and supporting management with reports

This role involves providing culturally specific support to Black clients. Applicants must be able to demonstrate lived experience of, and deep cultural understanding within, Black communities, and the ability to build trust with Black service users.

Partnership Coordinators are the face of the Community Connections Lewisham team. They play a crucial role in the triaging, coordination and effective administration of the entire Community Connections project and acting as a front door service to the rest of the voluntary sector.

As Counselling Service Manager, you will co-lead a high-quality counselling and psychotherapy service rooted in our communities and guided by our values: Inclusive, Responsive, Evolving and Together. You will help ensure our offer is accessible and welcoming to our diverse communities, and responsive to each person’s unique needs, histories and aspirations. You will provide co-leadership and day-to-day operational oversight over the counselling service, including clinical supervision for paid staff and volunteers.

Working alongside the Clinical Lead, you will uphold robust clinical governance, safeguarding and risk management, ensuring consistent ethical practice and high professional standards. You will lead the design and implementation of systems that support safe, effective and efficient service delivery, and use data to evidence impact and support reporting to commissioners and funders.

Where appropriate, you will hold a clinical caseload and deliver counselling or psychotherapy for clients with complex needs and multiple disadvantage, drawing on evidence-informed and trauma-informed approaches. You will model reflective practice, cultural humility and a strong client focus.

Additionally, you will be able to think strategically to develop new and existing services that meet the needs of service users. With a strong outcomes-focused and data-driven approach, you will lead on the design, implementation and delivery of systems that support the effective operation of services. You will have strong interpersonal skills that will allow you to build good working relationships with clients, volunteer and paid staff members and stakeholders.

This is an office-based role.

Role purpose
Providing independent Health complaint advocacy for a statutory rights based service under the Health and Social Care Act 2014, empowering qualifying individuals to raise concerns, speak up, and participate in decisions about their care and treatment. The post focuses on ensuring individuals have dignity and respect, clarifying options to challenge decisions, and supporting involvement, independence, and wellbeing. It is also about helping in providing accessible information, facilitating advocacy escalation if necessary, in writing to the parliamentary and Health service ombudsman, whilst  monitoring outcomes of individuals to improve experiences towards suitable resolutions.

This role will include listening and providing information and representing people’s views. You may be asked to support people by attending Best Interests Meetings, Review Meetings, Safeguarding meetings, Hospital PALS Manager’s Meetings, Community Mental Health meetings, Social Care Practitioners meeting, Mental Health Review Tribunals, Ward Round Meetings and Care Plan Approach meetings focussing on solutions to any NHS complaint

We must provide advocacy to Ealing residents over 18. You will ensure that people have their voice heard, views and rights understood and feel more in control of decisions affecting them.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide people with information about their rights

- Help people understand the information given to them and the options available

- Empower individuals to challenge and raise concerns themselves about their care and treatment.

- When required liaise with key health care professionals, parliamentary and health ombudsman on behalf of individuals when required

- Represent key meetings when required

- Delivering IHCA Advocacy Awareness campaigns and other workshops in person and online when required.

- Understanding Safeguarding and GDPR compliance.

- Administrative duties include the completion of case notes, quarterly reports, managing the inbox, triaging referrals to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements, and onboarding clients onto the database.

- Action planning with the client, identifying goals and empowering them to create this document and own it collaboratively

- Work in line with the Advocacy Charter

- Following our non-instructed advocacy policy to ensure those who have communication issues, still get effective representation.

- Also, an understanding of IMCA.

Person Specification

Essential:

• At least 2 years’ experience/knowledge of providing Independent Health Complaint Advocacy towards the NHS
• Excellent listening skills
• Strong communication and case planning skills
• Completed Kate Mercer Advocacy Training (formal external qualification) or equivalent.
• The ability to build good relationships
• Commitment to equitable access and digital proficiency.
• Ability to work to deadlines and work independently
• Flexibility, reliability, and confidence when speaking with a range of people
• Experience and good working knowledge in Microsoft Office products
• Excellent report writing skills
• Knowledge and experience of supporting people with learning and communication difficulties
• An awareness of diversity and ability to research complex and sensitive issues independently and quickly
