The Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals taking on sporting challenges and effectively managing relationships to maximise income.
As Sporting Events Administrator, you will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. You will work closely with the Sporting Event Managers (SEM) and Sporting Event Officers (SEO) to drive the continued growth of the charity’s sporting event fundraising income. You will also be required to show excellent organisation and relationship-building skills to support supporters.
Please note, when applying for the role this role will be known internally as *Sporting Events Executive.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a secondment period.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide excellent customer service to Sporting Event fundraisers, to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.
· Ensure fundraisers and volunteers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.
· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.
· Effective management of administrative support for team, including accurate recording of sporting fundraising data in the Salesforce database.
Event and Supporter Management
· Support the team in managing the sporting events as agreed with the Sporting Events Manager (SEM). Including recruitment of sporting places, recruitment of volunteers, communications plans, event marketing and event attendance.
· Working alongside the SEM and the SEO to manage the stewardship of all supporters.
· Build and manage relationships with prospective and current sporting fundraising supporters through prompt, helpful, professional and friendly contact.
· Taking the opportunity to maximise income and long-term support with every fundraising supporter, suggesting ARUK fundraising products where appropriate.
· Schedule and deliver stewardship good luck calls for all portfolio sporting eventers.
· Drafting prompt, professional thank you letters and certificates to fundraising supporters.
· Fundraising data management includes adding new constituents to the fundraising database (Salesforce), ensuring details are accurately recorded and maintained and that supporters are appropriately thanked.
· Managing emails sent to sporting events inbox.
Events Support
· Support in the effective delivery of sporting fundraising events for ARUK.
· May include relationship management with suppliers and logistics companies.
· Attendance of weekend events where necessary.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Peer support groups are an essential part of South East London Mind services. They differ from other forms of mental health services support as participants play an active role in creating an environment for each other where they can use their shared experiences to give and receive support.
The Southwark Women’s Forum is a monthly peer support group led by and for women aged 18+ who are resident in the London Borough of Southwark and are experiencing low to moderate mental health needs. Trans women are welcome to use this service. There are two different groups and we are currently seeking a skilled female group facilitator, with lived experience of mental ill health, to lead and deliver the second cohort on the penultimate Friday of each month.
We hope to expand this service, and with the help of a lived experience co-facilitator, you will ensure that it is a friendly and comfortable space for new and existing participants who may feel isolated or lack confidence due to their mental health. To keep the service running efficiently, you will also monitor group attendance, distribute and collect feedback forms as required, and assist the women with any signposting needs.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

You will be working across three specialist services – Sheffield Dementia Short-term Intervention Service; Sheffield Dementia Hospital Discharge Service and Sheffield Dementia Carers Training Programme, providing person-centred, intensive information, guidance and referral support to people living with dementia and those who care for them. We work with individuals, families, carers and friends to help people stay independent, improve wellbeing, and feel in control of their lives.
We receive referrals directly from GPs, hospitals and Adult Social Care for people with complex needs who require prompt, effective and personalised support. We are now looking for a compassionate and motivated professional to join our small but passionate team.
The service is unique to each service user as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs. You will offer support to your clients in a variety of ways, whether in the client's own home, or at other locations in the community, face to face, by phone, letter, or email. You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals, and facilitating peer support groups for people living with dementia on occasions in various location in the area!

You will need:
- Confidence and ability to communicate with a wide range of people, adapting your approach to ensure understanding. You will be required to speak publicly at events about dementia, delivering information and signposting people to further resources and networks.
- Ability to support people affected by a diagnosis of dementia to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and help them take more control of their lives.
- Ability to lead on and deliver training to a mix of individuals who are caring for someone living with a dementia diagnosis.
- Able demonstrate your skills being proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a local team.
- Strong IT skills for inputting detailed, factual case records on a client database and using virtual meeting software (Teams / Zoom).
- Ability to travel regularly across local area to face to face home visits and wider area on occasions.
What you’ll focus on:
- Your primary role will be in delivering personalised and tailored support to people affected by dementia. This could include the person living with dementia, carer, family or friends.
- Being a named, trusted contact for people affected by dementia, enabling them to access vital services whilst improving people’s sense of well-being, ultimately giving them more control over their lives and decisions.
- Managing your own caseload of clients and referring people to the appropriate health and social care organisations when required, which will include safeguarding’s.
- Delivering our dementia Carers training programme in person at venues across the city and online via Teams/Zoom.
- Providing advice and guidance at local peer groups, specific dementia groups and community networks, whilst looking out for new opportunities to promote the service and maintain the profile of dementia services across the area.

Rare Dementia Support (RDS) is a UCL-led collaborative service offering specialist social, emotional, and practical support services for individuals living with, or affected by, a rare dementia diagnosis. Our vision is for all individuals with, at risk of or supporting someone with one of these forms of dementia to have access to information, tailored support and guidance, and contact with others affected by similar conditions.
RDS is provided by the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC) within the Department of Neurodegenerative Disease at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
This is an essential, on-site post within the new Rare Dementia Support Centre (RDSC). You will be involved in the management and smooth running of all aspects of the Centre. You will report directly to the Centre Director, Professor Sebastian Crutch and will work closely with other members of the RDS/RDSC Executive team (Head of Support Services and Governance Lead).
The post is available immediately and funded by a donation from the UCLH charity until 31 October 2026 in the first instance.

Possability People is a pan-impairment disability charity based in Brighton. We work with people with a number of health conditions, including mental health and neurodivergent conditions, as well as with older people.

Join our team as an Admiral Nurse (Midlands - Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derby), in partnership with Dementia UK, and make a real impact on those affected by dementia.
You will be joining an established team of Admiral Nurses covering Midlands.
This role involves regular travel within the regions, so we are ideally looking for someone based in or near the area. You will work with clients in the community 3 days per week, with 2 days available to work from home. There may also be occasions when you will need to attend training and meetings at our hubs across the UK.
As an Admiral Nurse, your role will be pivotal in providing expert nursing support to carers, helping them navigate the complexities of dementia care. You will offer emotional and psychological interventions to alleviate the challenges of caregiving, especially at the early stages of diagnosis or pre-diagnosis, and continue supporting carers through the various stages of dementia, focusing on transitions, loss, and shifting relationships.
In this role, you will manage a caseload of clients, conducting home visits to assess their needs and wellbeing, and develop individual intervention plans. You will empower carers by helping them build the skills and confidence needed to support someone with dementia, especially as behaviours change over time. Your work will ensure they can provide better care while also protecting their own mental and emotional health.
Beyond direct care, you will contribute to the continuous development of the service, assisting with the evaluation and improvement of dementia care practices. You will offer clinical guidance to colleagues and external agencies, providing training and educational resources to enhance the quality of care across the board.

Community Support Advisers play an important part in service delivery. You will deliver regulated advice to clients predominantely in the areas of welfare benefits, housing, and health and social care. About the role
We are recruiting for a Policy Officer to join on a full-time, permanent contract, working 35 hours per week.
This role is key to supporting Alzheimer’s Society’s ambitions to drive major system and policy change in diagnosis, care and treatment across England, Northern Ireland and Wales at an exciting time in dementia policy. Evidence-based, collaborative, engaging and innovative policymaking will be central to everything the Policy Officer does.
As Policy Officer you will play an important role in determining what the Society thinks about the big issues affecting people affected by dementia. Through robust scoping and policy development, you will help to identify the action needed to affect change and help ensure our influencing activity is evidence-driven, timely and relevant across the three nations in which we work – nationally and locally.
You will be an expert policy advisor to colleagues across the Society and support Policy Managers to deliver against agreed integrated plans, including helping to monitor progress and performance and working with others to gather evidence, insight and data to underpin our policy work. Key to the success of this role is engaging others in the policy development process, sharing analysis, opinion and insight to inspire high-quality, dynamic policymaking.

About you
Joining us, you will have experience working in a complex policy environment, with sound understanding of the wider political environment, preferably in relation to health and care. You will have experience involving patients, service users and/or those living with long-term health conditions in your work.
Crucially, you will be a team player, naturally collaborative, with good attention to detail and be curious and challenging of the status quo. You will be a good communicator with the ability to use written/verbal communication skills to build positive relationships with stakeholders and produce high-quality and accessible policy content. This includes translating highly complex data and developments into insightful commentary and recommendations.

This is a great opportunity to support local communities and work with Unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Unpaid Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.
