The role of the Direct Marketing Executive is a varied one. Working with different teams and suppliers, you will be supporting and delivering direct marketing campaigns across a range of channels. The Face-to-Face acquisition programme is an evolving one and there is change and growth happening in a lot of interesting areas at a fast pace.

As well as running day-to-day activities, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the face-to-face team by ensuring data and supporter engagement processes are running smoothly across campaigns. Alongside this, they will ensure compliance and adherence to the most recent regulations and codes of practice is top of the agenda.

Fundraising experience is not essential for the role, but we are looking for someone with the desire and self-motivation to learn and develop, and the drive and passion to change the future for those affected by dementia. The successful candidate will be able to show this, be collaborative and enthusiastic, want to learn and develop, and be keen to get involved with the activities of the team right away.  You’ll be part of a team that works across multiple face-to-face fundraising channels; speaking to a range of audiences with one theme in common, compelling people to support our work and bring about life-changing dementia treatments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Management

· Support with planning and delivery of face-to-face fundraising campaigns across a range of products and channels including Regular Giving, Lottery and Payroll Giving

· Work with others in the team to conduct mystery shopping, shadowing and call listening to measure fundraising quality and ensure compliance.

· Liaise with designers, printers, agencies, and fulfilment houses.

· Support the day-to-day management of fundraising agencies and suppliers, ensuring relationships are effective and productive.

· Assist in the production and delivery of motivating fundraiser training that ensures quality, compliant fundraising.

· Support in recommendations for change and refinement across the direct marketing programme.

 

Finance & Reporting

· Weekly campaign tracking and reporting

· Administer the recording, reconciliation, and processing of invoices

 

Other duties

· Tracking and evaluating competitor and industry trends, collaborating with the other Direct Marketing Executive to provide recommendations to the wider team for potential improvements and testing opportunities.

· Keep up to date with developments in face-to-face fundraising, direct marketing and sector regulation.

· Proof-read direct marketing materials and collateral.

· Regularly attend, support, and contribute to meetings and events.

· Ensure compliance and adherence to the most recent regulations and codes of practice.

· Keep up to date with dementia news, research developments and the work of Alzheimer’s Research UK and consider the impact on campaigns.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Experience of using Microsoft packages; particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

· Proof reading.

· Administrative experience.

· Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.

· Willingness to collaborate and work closely with other departments and external suppliers.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to communicate with people of all levels.

· Strong team player and self-motivator.

· Strong focus on results and continuous improvement.

· Flexibility to work some unsocial hours and willingness to travel independently.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

The role: 

This role involves one to one support for unpaid Carers of people with dementia, providing information, guidance, and advocacy, developing, and delivering dementia training for Carers and facilitating peer support groups. This role also includes coordinating and delivering a monthly Dementia Cafe for people with dementia and their Carers, including supervision of the Cafe volunteers and sessional workers, as well as supervising a Carers Support and Development Worker. 

Skills and experience: 

The successful applicant will have outstanding organisational and communication skills, be confident delivering training and outreach. They will be able to manage conflicting demands with tight deadlines, be a key team player and committed to working with Carers and volunteers. 

They will have excellent IT skills and be able to adapt to providing services both face to face and via virtual platforms, whilst maintaining a consistent service for Carers.

Dementia UK is looking for a Procurement Manager to join our Finance Team. As the charity continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our procurement function, supporting internal stakeholders to secure the goods, services and suppliers they need to deliver our 2025-2030 organisational strategy.

As Dementia UK’s procurement expert, you will lead the function with support from a Procurement Support Officer. You will manage end-to-end procurement activity, including sourcing, tendering, supplier selection, negotiation and contract management, whilst building strong supplier relationships. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the charity, you’ll develop practical procurement approaches and make procurement straightforward by providing the right controls and tools to empower and support stakeholders to make informed decisions and achieve the best overall value – balancing quality, cost, risk and organisational needs.

You will bring substantial experience in procurement management and hold a relevant qualification, such as a Level 5 or 6 Diploma in Procurement and Supply, MCIPS, or QBE equivalent. You will have a strong understanding of procurement best practice, preferably in the charity sector. You will have a collaborative, solutions-focused approach and will be confident working with stakeholders to find practical ways forward. Strong negotiation, relationship-building and commercial skills are key.

We are looking for a warm, thoughtful and organised Dementia Adviser to join our supportive team in London Borough of Bexley working 21 hours per week on a 12 months fixed term contract.

You'll regularly travel between different locations across London Borough of Bexley, manage your own diary and build relationships with a wide range of people. This role involves being out in communities throughout the week, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling independently and working across different locations as part of your normal working pattern.

While some planning and administration can be completed from home, the focus of this role is being present in communities, meeting people face to face and building trusted local connections.

You will work closely with people living with dementia and those who care about them, providing ongoing support. You will listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person and offer guidance that helps them feel steadier and more confident as their situation changes.
Your days will be varied and meaningful. You might be visiting someone at home, offering calm reassurance over the phone, or working closely with other professionals to make sure the right support is in place. We operate a triage system for new referrals and you will play your part in making sure people are responded to quickly and thoughtfully. You will manage your own caseload, keeping clear and accurate records, while always seeing the person behind the paperwork.

You will be part of a caring and dynamic local team who share ideas, reflect together and support one another. There will be time to meet as a team and opportunities to keep growing your knowledge of dementia, with your manager and colleagues alongside you. We provide training and ongoing support.

You don't need previous dementia experience to apply. You may have gained these skills through customer service, retail, education, housing, hospitality, community work, charities, faith organisations or other people focused roles. You may also have personal experience of supporting or caring for someone affected by dementia.

As the Group Activities Facilitator, you will coordinate and facilitate a programme that brings group activities to community spaces across the borough. You will work in partnership with other delivery organisations and community facilitators, helping people feel more connected to the people and resources around them. This will include developing and refining a structured programme and continuously building on feedback.

What you'll be doing:

• Developing and overseeing the safe delivery of a flexible programme of short-term groups to support wellbeing
• Partnering with a variety of organisations and venues to ensure the programme covers a range of needs
• Managing the day-to-day operations of activity delivery, including group & venue bookings and relationships with delivery partners
• Jointly managing a co-production group including service users and local partners to plan programme priorities
• Supporting service users, addressing concerns and encouraging participation, and providing information about upcoming programmes
• Connecting to the wider community to encourage sustainable participation and longer-term options for service users

Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.
