Job description

This is a really exciting opportunity for a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual who shares our values and passion for cycling to join Life Cycle as our new CEO, helping to lead us forward and shape our future ambitions as we enter a new era.

There has never been a better time to join Life Cycle. Cycling offers a low carbon, affordble, healthy and sustainable form of travel fit for the 21st Century.  But there are barriers that prevent people from making local journeys by bike.  Life Cycle specialises in running sucessful schemes that engage, encourage and enable people to give cycling a go and make it part of their lives.

As our new CEO, you will lead an experienced and dedicated team to build on our sucesses to date, develop new projects and win new tenders in order to have an even greater impact... transforming more lives and the environment through cycling.

Based at our head office in Bristol, you’ll provide clear leadership to the charity, ensuring financial security and sustainability. You’ll be responsible for co-creation of Life Cycle’s strategic plan along with staff, trustees and volunteers and for overseeing its effective delivery. In addition, you will have outstanding interpersonal skills and will take an empowering approach to leadership, supporting staff and volunteers to achieve their goals and contribute to Life Cycle’s ongoing development. You will be responsible for overall management and governance of Life Cycle, ensuring compliance with legislation and Life Cycle internal policies.  You’ll act as ambassador for the charity and champion cycling as everyday transport.

Our employees, freelance staff, volunteers and trustees are incredibly passionate about Life Cycle’s work and leading the Life Cycle UK team will be an exciting, challenging and rewarding experience.
