We’re looking for an outstanding leader to join our directorate team and manage the delivery of financial accountability and central support services including Finance, Human Resources, IT, and Quality and Compliance. You’ll lead and direct staff across these areas, ensuring that they are effective in carrying out their responsibilities and that they are working productively together to meet the needs of our service. As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that EDP meets its statutory obligations, including liaising with external auditors to guarantee that EDP’s accounts meet Companies House and Charity Commission requirements. You’ll also make sure that our services meet contractual, national and internal KPIs and targets.

An innovative thinker, you’ll review processes and systems to meet the changing needs of the organisation, allowing EDP to develop and improve. You’ll respond flexibly to changes and developments, anticipating and preparing appropriate contingency plans.

We’re looking for a leader with significant experience of financial and strategic management at a senior level, including gaining, leading and managing large successful contracts. You’ll have contributed to organisational/service change and development and will have significant previous experience of mobilising new services. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and we would welcome applications from candidates who are qualified members of a recognised accounting body.

In the role you’ll manage a multi-disciplinary team and services, so sound knowledge and understanding across a range of areas is needed to be successful in role. Areas will include Human Resources and employment legislation, regulatory frameworks (including CQC), quality and governance frameworks including charity accounting, and selecting IT systems. You’ll be able to demonstrate delivery of successful bid writing practice and will have good understanding of identifying, assessing and developing new business opportunities and markets.

A strong communicator, you’ll interact confidently and effectively with key internal and external stakeholders, including those at a senior level. You’ll value partnership working, and will be able to demonstrate your commitment to, and experience of partnership management.
