The Role
The Finance & Operations Coordinator is a central position in a small, purpose-driven team. The role provides direct support to the Managing Director and works closely with the Finance Committee to ensure that the charity’s financial and operational systems are well managed, compliant and effective.
This is a broad and hands-on role that involves managing day-to-day UK operations, supporting financial oversight, ensuring smooth coordination with our in-country partners, and keeping our administrative framework in excellent order.

Key Responsibilities
Finance and Reporting

Governance & Risk
- Ensure robust governance frameworks and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements

- Maintain statutory registers and ensure timely filing of returns and documents with regulatory bodies

- Maintain consistency and compliance for all internal communication channels
Business Planning & Reporting

- Oversee the annual cycle of statutory reporting to both public sector funders and trustees including all ad-hoc reporting requests across the business

Legal, Insurance, Data Protection & Compliance
- Ensure legislative and regulatory compliance in all systems and procedures around business administration
- Acting as lead organisational contact and budget holder for external legal support ensuring consistent processes are followed and value for money is achieved to meet the strategic needs of the business
- Ensure adequate data protection in place, devise and implement any additional process and/or training, and act as DPO, accessing external advice as appropriate

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is looking for a suitably skilled & highly capable Senior Finance Officer. This is a pivotal position within a small, dedicated finance team, where you will support the effectiveness of day-to-day financial support and ensure that accurate, timely information is available to management. You’ll be responsible for recording financial data across a range of systems and processes, helping to provide a robust financial foundation for Suffolk Wildlife Trust.
A major focus of the role will be the accurate and efficient processing of all financial transactions. This includes the purchase and sales ledgers, carrying out bank reconciliations, managing credit control and supporting the approval of payment runs.
Your attention to detail and strong numeracy skills will be essential in maintaining the integrity of the Trust’s financial records and ensuring that everything ties up smoothly each month and at year end.
Alongside core finance work, you will support the Trust’s trading operations by managing the online shop, overseeing stock for both online and retail outlets and working with EPOS and ECWID systems. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will support key financial cycles including year-end and the annual audit for both the Trust and SWT Trading, as well as month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts. You’ll also assist with VAT returns, legacies, project reconciliations, restricted fund allocations, budgeting and ad hoc reporting, giving you a broad and varied workload.
The ideal candidate will have strong numeracy and Excel skills, previous experience in a similar finance role and either AAT qualified or qualified by equivalent experience. You’ll be organised, efficient, proactive and comfortable multi-tasking in a small team, with a willingness to learn and take a hands-on approach. This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week over four days based at our main office Brooke House in Ashbocking. We operate flexible homeworking arrangements where colleagues spend more time working together than homeworking. The starting salary will be between £24,800 (FTE £31,000) and £26,400 (FTE £33,000) per annum depending on skills, knowledge and experience. Full time hours (37.5 over five days) would be considered for the right candidate.

About the role
This role will provide leadership and management for CCLC particularly focused on the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. The role will be accountable for maximising the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs and will hold responsibility for the unit’s billing systems. It will also be responsible for private fees billing. The post-holder will oversee the smooth running of legal aid billing including through line management of the billing team. The post-holder will work very closely with legal, operations and administrative staff. The role will act as a key point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders including Coram’s central finance team who will support the role with grant fund management and overall accounting functions for CCLC. The post-holder will support the Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children’s Rights and department heads in the successful maintenance of our relationship with the Legal Aid Agency. Where appropriate they will be deputising for the Managing Director on legal aid and financial matters.
The role would suit a highly organised and efficient legal, or a finance or billing professional with solid experience of legal practice and a deep understanding of the challenges of legal aid. Whilst candidates with direct experience of legal billing (and more specifically civil legal aid billing) are welcomed, we recognise that this is a highly specialised and niche field. As the Operations and Visitor Experience Manager, you play a pivotal role at CSC, with full
responsibility for our Centre in Cambridge Science Park and our secondary site, currently in
Wisbech.
An essential part of your role is to drive CSC’s direct revenue streams connected to the Centre.

The Role
BASIC is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead our finance function during a period of sustained growth. The Financial Controller will work across Programme teams ensuring strong financial management and reporting to funding partners, maintain strong financial controls, ensure compliance with charity finance regulations, and provide accurate financial reporting to our Directors and Board of Trustees.

Education & Qualifications:
- Active NMC membership
- Educated to Masters degree level in a relevant area (or relevant experience), and / or with relevant post graduate teaching or leadership qualifications.
Experience:

About Us
The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

Rehabilitation of Offenders
Many roles at The Children’s Trust are exempt from the provisions of Section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, by virtue of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020) and as such, are subject to an Enhanced DBS check. Online Searches
In accordance with statutory safeguarding and child protection guidance, online searches will be conducted for shortlisted candidates before interview. The online searches will be conducted by a person who is independent of the interview and selection process and will focus on relevant information returned via searches of the candidate’s name (and variations thereof).
