For nearly 35 years, South Bank Employers’ Group has been at the heart of making South Bank the place it is today - an internationally important destination, an economic powerhouse, and a real and authentic neighbourhood with diverse business, residential and student communities. We are a member-led, not for profit company, and our work is diverse and wide-ranging.

We are recruiting five new members to our Board of Directors.

About Us

In line with our vision of working together for a better South Bank for all, we deliver to our members, and have strategic agreements with Lambeth Council, South Bank Business Improvement District, and Jubilee Gardens Trust. We coordinate and direct a significant collective investment across the South Bank and Waterloo neighbourhood, working with our members and partners to ensure that this investment addresses our shared priorities. This includes the annual revenues raised through the pioneering and innovative London S106 agreement, whereby 1% of the Eye’s annual turnover is reinvested in services and initiatives that benefit the neighbourhood.

Following an extensive review of our governance and membership arrangements, we are now creating our new Board, which will work alongside our Members’ Council, which is also new. The Board is member-led, with six Directors that are appointed from SBEG’s full members, and we are now looking for five additional non-member Directors. They will join Tom Sleigh, SBEG’s Chair, the six member representative Directors, and Nic Durston - SBEG’s Chief Executive - on the Board.

We are looking for people who have the right skills and experience to ensure that the Board ensures that SBEG works towards its vision, achieves its corporate goals and objectives, and supports and enhances the work of the team. We are also keen to ensure that our Board is diverse and inclusive, reflecting the area’s identity, and those that work, visit, study and live here. Following a skills review of our current Directors, we are keen to hear from candidates with experience and skills in sustainability, marketing, human resources and legal.

Nine years after the Brexit referendum, we are navigating ongoing challenges affecting EU citizens’ communities. We are continuing to build power from the ground up, empowering people to get their voices heard. Your contribution will be crucial to making change happen.

About the3million

We are the leading organisation representing EU citizens in the UK. Our vision is a world where EU citizens can thrive, reach their potential and have an equal voice in UK society. Our work ranges from informing people of their rights and community organising of EU citizens’ communities, to holding the Government to account on the implementation of the Withdrawal Agreement and promoting access to justice. 

We are a grassroots and non-partisan organisation, working with a variety of stakeholders, from MPs to NGOs, legal advisors and the media on specific issues affecting migrants’ rights. We regularly engage with the Home Office and its monitoring bodies to advocate for change. 

We were formed through the efforts of volunteers from many different backgrounds who came together in the immediate aftermath of the Brexit referendum in 2016. We hold on to that can-do, nimble spirit and friendly and non-hierarchical collegiality.

In 2024, the3million’s contribution towards creating lasting and significant change for EU citizens living in the UK was recognised at the EmpowerEU Awards, in the "Outstanding Achievement” category.

the3million was incorporated as a limited by guarantee not-for-profit company with Companies House in November 2017. As such, the role of members of the Board of Directors is similar, though not identical, to that of Charity Trustees.

What does the role involve? 

You will join a small board of professionals committed to helping EU citizens in the UK. We are specifically seeking directors with expertise, skills and knowledge in any or several of the following backgrounds: fundraising, legal compliance, HR, risk management, community organising, racial justice and safeguarding.

As a the3million non-executive director, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the organisation on track with its objectives. You will apply your professional experience towards shaping our strategy on fundraising, governance, campaigning and other areas of work.

The main purpose of your role:

As directors at the3million, you will have responsibility to:

• Ensure the3million is meeting its aims and objectives and acting in line with any relevant legislation or regulations

Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Executive Leadership Team here at Youth4Youth to drive positive change in all things volunteer engagement. As an entirely volunteer run organisation, positive engagement with volunteers is absolutely fundamental in allowing Youth4Youth to achieve its mission. The Volunteer Experience Director will play a critical role in setting strategy and executing solutions to improve the overall volunteer experience.

• Define the volunteering proposition for the Charity, helping new and existing volunteers to understand the impact of working with Youth4Youth

AHO Head of Fundraising (unpaid, Volunteer role)

Responsibilities and Duties

The Volunteer Head of Fundraising assists the Director of Fundraising in developing and implementing a comprehensive multi-year funding strategy that encompasses diverse income streams, working collaboratively with senior leadership to coordinate efforts and maintain an up-to-date funding pipeline. 

The Volunteer Grants Head assists the Director of Fundraising to:

• Develop and drive a multi-year fundraising strategy to support the organisation's growth ambitions.  To include a mix of both existing and new income streams and the resources needed to reach the goals.
• Work with the CEO, Director of Fundraising, and Grant Managers to implement the strategy in a coordinated and effective way.
• Create and maintain the fundraising pipeline, keeping it up to date in the CRM, in collaboration with other Volunteers and staff members.
• Lead on fortnightly Business Development meetings to keep everyone aligned and updated.
• Lead the development of new income streams, including government procurement opportunities and individual donations.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment between income generation and programme delivery.
• Work closely with the Board of Directors to establish and leverage networks and opportunities.

• Proven track record of developing and delivering successful fundraising strategies at a senior level.

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Non-Executive Director to join our Board and lead the work of our Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC). This is a pivotal role in our governance structure, providing oversight and strategic direction across Board and executive appointments, succession planning, people strategy, remuneration frameworks, and EDI&B initiatives across the CII Group.

The NRC plays a central role in shaping the CII’s organisational culture and leadership capacity, ensuring transparency, fairness and consistency in how we recruit, develop, and reward our people. As Chair, you will lead and influence critical decisions affecting the long-term success of the Institute, providing challenge, support, and governance rigour at Board level.

About you

We seek those with senior-level non-executive experience, ideally within a complex or regulated organisation, with a strong track record of leadership and experience chairing boards or committees. You will have demonstrable expertise in HR, people strategy, reward, and recognition, with the ability to contribute to strategic oversight, corporate governance, and succession planning.

You will be an inclusive and insightful leader, capable of constructive challenge and collaborative contribution. You’ll bring sound judgement, high ethical standards, and a clear understanding of how excellent governance supports organisational impact and public confidence. Equally, you will come with a strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging, and embedding these values at Board level.

• Time commitment

The role requires a meaningful time commitment across the year. This includes attending six Board meetings and one full-day strategy session annually, with most meetings held in a hybrid format and a preference for in-person attendance where possible. There are also four Committee meetings a year, occasional development sessions, and involvement in recruitment, induction, and appraisal processes. Board Members are also expected to attend the CII AGM and support urgent matters between meetings as needed.

The board currently meets approximately 8 times per year, mainly online and annually for planning purposes for 1-2 hours depending on subject matter. Beyond this, you’d be expected to offer occasional support to the team and attend key events.

The International Council of Museums in the United Kingdom (ICOM UK) is seeking a new trustee with strong financial acumen and a passion for the museums and heritage sector and working internationally to be the Finance Lead on our Board. This is a strategic finance role to support the Strategic Director and advise the Board of Trustees in respect of the conduct of the charity’s financial affairs.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The PR is responsible for the preparation of a press kit and outreach communications to send to journalist and media companies to publish our news on their blogs, sites, socials etc.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will create a pool of contacts on excel spreadsheet to use for press releases and media outreach on behalf of the organisation

Creating stories for several projects that are of clear benefit to the organisation including our films, music productions, acting for film workshops, artist development workshops for young people from different boroughs in West London. This role will work closely with project stakeholders, including young people organisations, funders and partners, probation officers, as well as collaborate with our Research and Performance and Collective Action departments to learn from our work and embed best practice.

This role will work closely with the Managing Director and project manager colleagues to lead our delivery portfolio through your story creations.

You will also promote our projects, recruit volunteers to support our promos and promote our programmes through the online platform such as YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

The PRO  will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating the success of online promotional programmes. They will work closely with a portfolio of partners to design meaningful online interventions for our beneficiaries, as well as leading on the recruitment of volunteers to promote programmes and the evaluation of programmes using the One Place vision of change.

KEY SKILLS

Understanding and experience of marketing and online promotion of projects such as films and music with experience of promoting effective projects on a regional scale preferred but not essential, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and a passion for making a difference to the lives of young people and organisations purpose. We are looking for someone who is proactive, inclusive, inspiring, highly organised and uses their initiative to find creative solutions and manage multiple priorities.
